Street Bike Combat Advice needed.

Recommended Posts

I've always love bikes. A few months ago...while watching TV in free roam (free aim). i was amazed at one player who pretty much came out of no where...took down 3 bounties and vanished over a roof top. He was like a freakin' ninja assassin.

Since that day.. I've grown to loving and using my Ruffian for free roam. Going after bounties, trolls and hostiles. I've become pretty good but i want to be better. Like the guy i seen.. He was amazing.

I was wondering if anyone with alot of experience using bikes as a weapon can offer some advice.

For me personally.. I always try to keep a full amount of candy and armor.. Wear a bullet proof helmet.. Keep to the shadows, alley ways and side walks. Learning to leap over certain things (which im not that great at, but getting better).

I've also been watching some stunt videos to learn some of the places to get some good air.

But any advice is welcomed.

Why would you ever try to partake in combat while on any sort of motorcycle?

I get shot off of mine instantly, but you asked for tips....so I'd recommend using the AP Pistol, usually kills the aggressor before they get the chance to do the same

What console are you on? I stunt a lot and I'm pretty handy at using it to my advantage when fighting across the map, but not so hot at shooting whilst on the bike. I could do with the practice myself so maybe we could use each other for target practise. If you could combine stunting with skilled shooting whilst on the bike then you certainly would be a foe to be reckoned with! Stunting alone does it for me most of the time.

Im on xbone.

My shooting on the bike is pretty good..but always needs some work. My stunting how ever, needs alot of work....lol

Might look up some stunt videos too. Would love to ride with some of you guys and see you in action tho.

He's talking about free aim though

Same deal, though.

I've been sniped/shot off of my Akuma plenty of times in FA.

Shame - I'm on PS4, but only just noticed you said free aim. I used to play free aim but then it went all tumbleweed on the PS3 so I switched back to auto aim and have never left, despite changing console.

If you need some help stunting then I've got a load of stunt practise races that might help (video demonstrations, and races for all 4 consoles)...

Practice makes perfect.

Agreed... but only if you practice the right things :D . Which is why im trying to soak up as much advice as possible.

Stunting tho.. I really.. really need to work on this. Its my biggest problem is being consistent with jumping and landing.

Thanks man. Il try them out.

Just get out there and cause trouble. You may get killed a lot at first but eventually you will know what not to do. It's important to know what NOT to do.

I like getting around a corner as quickly as possible and wait for them to come to me.

Stunting goes the same way. Practice. You will find the sweet spot, especially on the Ruffian.

I suggest you try and get used to crashing. I don't know any consistent stunt - not even straight forward ramps are consistent. Just be happy that the more you do it, the less you crash. There's nothing like the feeling of leaving an angry crew behind as you back-flip over the marina to the beach. It's worth all the hard work and sweat just for that moment :D

That is the most frustrating part.

Street Bike fights all depends on the situation and what the opponent is using. I won't reveal ALL my tactics out in the open.. but I will say a few things.

They'll all be categorized by what they're driving if anything, and what weapons they're using.

Open Cars/Guns: Wide open all around, keep your targets in their window but swerve left and right.. so you don't get lined up. You should be hitting your target in bursts, no matter what the angle.

Supercars/Guns: Get a supercar in a tight spot while you light up the windshield as they're trying to knock you off gets them all the time. If at high speeds try to get on their side or in front of them. But take turns a lot.. driving in a straight line too much can get you knocked off.

Ground/AR: There is a number of different tactics to use against ground targets. But I'll just mention one. Hitting the throttle and then going in reverse repeatedly is just like strafing on the ground.. but faster going forward obviously.. with a flow of different maneuvering tactics plus this.. you'll take down a lot of AR guys. But quick drive by's is the most intense I think lol

Ground/Minigun: Minigunners... if someone pulls one of these on you, swerve crazily without hitting nothing and quickly get to cover to armor/snack up. Zoom back out the corner, swerving and C4 their feet...

Klicksend, you probably drive in a straight line, which obv gets you lined up for a snipe or minigunned real easily..

Whoever is on 360 (soon to be Xbone) feel free to add me. I will train anyone that wants to run with me. Other than that, these are the only tactics I'll mention right now lol. Which is pretty mediocre basic tactics IMHO.

There are prolly plenty of things to keep in mind OP, and you mentioned some yourself with the helmet and body armor, but I'd say the most important thing you could do is KNOW THE MAP.

I can't say that enough. The primary advantage of the bike is speed and agility.... Which do you ZERO good if all you gonna do is drive in straight lines and linear patterns as if you were driving a car out in the open. Evasive manuevers are crucial.

Become verry familiar with the terrain; knowing the alleys and shortcuts and suitable jump ledges will allow you to weave in, out and around your environment with ease. Know which passage ways are suitable for escape. The last thing you wanna do is turn down a dead end or wipe out when you try to jump a ledge. Fall off your bike and its Boom. Shot up. PV destroyed. Game over.

While on your bike, your weapon of choice is more than likely gonna be sticky bombs. But again, you lose the advantage of speed and agility if you have to slow down or come to a complete stop just to effectively land on on your target. So it'd be a good idea to go to a private session to practice your aim while driving, on stationary targets like parked cars or what not. Mess around with ya aim sensitivity till you got a pattern that's comfortable for yourself.

Well i can offer you some advice if you don't mind.

Stay off the streets. Use side walks or alleys ways for travel and cover. Side walks allow you avoid traffic and also gives you a chance to use the area as cover from anyone trying to ram or shoot you. Like trees, benches, poles. Its frustrates players in cars.. They see a bike so they usually instantly think "im gonna knock this sucker off".. Once they commit to a ram, they will pretty much drive into anything you hide behind which makes it a easy shot.

Basically.. i try to think like a Ninja.. Strike hard... strike fast.. Disappear.

Oh and bike selection. Definitely important to take into account your bike because the varying speeds and handles obviously affect your input for pulling off maneuvers.

I noticed you said you use a ruffian OP, but don't forget to consider experimenting with other bikes if you haven't alredy done so.

My personal choices for selecting bikes are:

1.) Akuma

2.) Hakuchou

3.) Akuma, again

4.) Amuka, still

10.) everything else

*you should get an Akuma OP >_>*

OP wants to stunt. So no - don't get the Akuma.

So... I guess OP needs a bulletproof helmet and body armor to stunt as well? Are bounties part of stunting too ? Lol yo

No. Why would you think that? He just needs a bike that can actually stunt, so not the Akuma.

Antigenetic

Using a Bike in Free aim lobbies is the worst thing...I resort to using stickies.

Using a bike in Free Aim lobbies is the same as using a bike in Assisted Aim lobbies; drive by shooting has always been locked to free aim unless you're a passenger. So like I said, the benefit of Free Aim is you can't be shot off your bike so easily; therefore improving your chances of defending yourself. Other than that there is literally no difference...

Ive gotten into combat on a motorcycle for fun (makes it harder) And I tend to use sticky bombs.

But then when I get followed I leave a sticky bomb in a location and let them follow to blow them up as they pass.

I don't tend to resort to sticky bombs unless the player im fighting against is really laggy. Sticky bombs are the easy way of playing and ruin the combat for me.

Mid range i use the AP.. and stick to sidewalks and use cover when riding.

Close range.. Sawed off Shotgun. Which is great for a nice bike body check and a single shot to the face for an insta crown.

Also as far as bikes go. I got a ton of them.. But i prefer the Ruffian for combat and stunting.
