grimoire2008
I hate playing under 120fps @ 120hz. Going to take some adjusting getting used to lower since I know I won't be getting that high. The only thing I can stand under 60fps is cinema. BlackNoise
Consistent 30fps is the bare minimum, but it just isn't smooth enough. The visual aspect isn't as good, but the real issue is gameplay IMO. I need at least 60fps to feel confident. I just want mistakes to be my fault, instead of some split second frame rate issue. I also feel like I'm less in the moment at lower frame rates like I'm watching a movie or TV. 60fps+ feels much more natural like you're there. I've been playing Bioshock Infinite, and I almost can't believe how well that game is optimized. I wish R* could give me a consistent 120fps. MP3 is pretty amazing, but I think R* went super deep because of the Bullet Time. I don't even understand what's happening when it's telling me I'm getting frame rates into the hundreds and even thousands. I can tell it's above 60, but I'm not sure what extra frames it's counting. Loco Matheus
On console version, for e.g, when you're driving fast you can notice some kind of "lag" in your car. That's because there are only 30 frames (the game's screen is re-drawed each frame) each second. On PC version (60 FPS), the screen will be redrawn twice as much each second, so it'll be smoother and the lag thingy won't happen (unless you double your speed which will be, in the vanilla game, impossible). Basically, when an object goes too fast it moves a huge distance between each screen redraw and you can notice this, in a 60fps game it's going to be harder to happen. And of course, everything will look smoother, like animations, explosions, etc. Hope you understand! redman7771red17
You don`t want 30. Trust me. It can be playable on 30, but you will experience a lot of BS. I play on my Xbox360, Install disc on flash drive and Play disc on HDD. Playing on a 100Hz TV. There is such a big input lag a hardcore PC master race gamer would go insane playing with that. Like you know when you go fast while weaving and dodging traffic you need to have a quick reaction time? With 30 you need the ability to predict the future and react faster than a normal person would, because there is like a 200-300ms input-lag. Of course if you are a casual who plays video games for about an hour once a week then you probably won`t see any problems and will be fine. But once you experience 120FPS on a 144Hz screen you will never be the same. After I got to play around on a 144Hz screen with 120 FPS, I want to get a 144Hz monitor asap. Huge difference if you know where and what to look at. The problem is the xbox 360 version does not actually run at 30fps. It averages 27 and drops below 20 frequently. Using the flashlights in the rain at night online would drop it to 19 fps near large groups of NPCs. 30 fps is the absolute minimum, anything below that is basically a side show. Fails and mistakes being my own faults and not the game's. 30 fps is the absolute minimum, anything below that is basically a side show. *slideshow.
