You Play Solo?, lol Good Luck With Heists

As being a predominantly solo player myself, the upcoming heists have me worried. I mean, there are a lot of bads that can’t even complete normal missions as it is, imagine trying to complete multi stage heists with them.

Any other solo players worried that are pretty much going to miss out on a large part of the game altogether?

I play my missions with random people 98% of the time and rarely had any issues with trolls. I'm on the ps3

Heists are really big missions and since you can play missions with randoms...this is stupid.

I can't imagine how heists can be done solo. And you shouldn't play with randoms, that's as worse as playing solo.

Not worried in the slightest....there's a whole section at the top of the forum for you to meet 3 other solo players.

Use it.

I just need to find 3 people on 360 to do the CM challenge with. Then I'll do Heists whenever I please

Stop exaggerating. There will be checkpoints. And I guarantee you've barely given randoms a chance.

Heists from the get-go were going to be cooperative missions. I thought this was common knowledge? Not in the sense that you've been following the trailers and looking deep into the once empty newswire - but if you just took a moment to realize that you're playing multiplayer, and not singleplayer - I don't understand why this comes as a shock that you're required to play with other human beings. I don't believe the mediocre AI would be able to perform the roles that the players are inclined to. 'Not unless the Heists are scripted from beginning to end. Example: All of the heists in singleplayer. Is that what a solo player wants? No.

I play solo myself but with randoms in all jobs. With 30+ days, I've played quite a few contact missions. 80% of the time with randoms. I've bumped into what, 2-3 missions with a troll? If anything trolls add some spice to the repetitive missions. And I've fallen guilty to the trade myself at times because the missions are f*cking boring with little incentive to complete.

Unless there is a billionaire troll in your crew, I'm pretty sure - even with randoms (who might suck, who f*cking cares?), everyone is going to give these missions their best shot. Tbh I only like playing with low-levels anyway.

You think people have been waiting 18 months just to purposely troll or quit after they fail the only gamemode that doesn't pay chump change?

I play solo mostly, and I enjoy doing most of my stuff solo. But at the same time I don't have a problem in hanging around with randoms if I have to.

My only concern is that I HATE having to communicate with voice, and I feel like this sort of stuff is needed to play heists.

Exactly! People are being waaaay to dramatic. OK, you'll definitely need your own crew to do the $10 million challenge, but like minifat said, with checkpoints I don't see what the big worry is. If you have common sense there will be no problem.

Doesn't matter. If I can't find any trustworthy crew mates with good connection, then I'll hit random. If random are more sucky than ever, then I'll simply close the game.

Don't make any difference to me since I no longer play GTAO daily.

Solo players who are a part of this forum should be okay. We have a useful tool at our disposal, which is networking with like-minded people and arranging things here rather than rolling the dice with a total stranger.

Even solo players who don't use this forum will be fine. Joining a crew in-game is easier than replacing a light bulb. There isn't any need for this thread.

I've played a lot of contact missions with randoms, and had almost no trouble with trolls, so I don't think that's really the major concern with getting heists done with PUGs. The bigger issue with them is just the overall lack of skill of most players. You can watch the whole rest of your team get wiped out within the first 2 minutes of A Boat in the Bay, for example, but if you know what you're doing (and knew enough to bring an RPG to take out the heli), you can still finish it on your own, easily. With heists you're going to have to keep everyone alive, which is going to be a problem. The 2 things that should really help, tho, are the checkpoint system, and that there aren't too many heists and everyone should be playing them--a lot--so they should get familiar with them and what they need to do to beat them real quick. With contact missions there's over 90 of the damn things, and most times you're playing with people who've probably never even played that particular one before, so it's no surprise that they have no clue what to do and get killed almost immediately.

The thing about heisting with randoms, tho, is that you're going to have to do it as the team leader, since only the leader's progress saves, and even if we can shave the total time down to 1.5-2 hours, trying to go that long with a group of strangers, without one of them needing to leave or getting DC'd is going to be tough. And once everyone else starts figuring out that they can't join a random group and expect to make it all the way thru to the end and get paid, but are going to have to host it themselves, I think trying to get 3 other people for your team is going to be tough. Just think of what it's like trying to host any contact mission that's not Rooftop Rumble, as you sit there and sit there for 5 minutes waiting for someone--anyone!--else to drop in and join you...

In joining random heists i am guessing the Leader of the heist still distributes the money the way they see fit. If you are joining random heists, there is a probability you wont get paid then right? if the leader wants to be a wet noodle yes? I too am usually a solo player but i have been back on here recently looking for trustworthy people to play with, because joining random heists is a roll of dice or like a box of chocolates...sometimes you get sh*t :breadfish:

Yeah, but apparently the leader has to set the %'s before the thing even begins, so you oughta be able to see immediately if you're going to get a really low cut (or none at all), and just bail without wasting your time. The real issue in playing with people you don't know is what happens if you get 2/3 of the way thru the entire string of missions, and one of you gets disconnected? Or suddenly has to quit playing and go somewhere? If you're the leader then you just come back tomorrow and try to pick up where you left off, with 3 new players. But if you weren't the leader, then all you really get out of it is the 20k payouts from each of the individual prep missions. But it's possible that that's a high enough amount that people will still be willing to jump in and do them, just cuz it's pretty equal to what you'd get from most other jobs that take a similar amount of time, but with the added potential for a big payoff at the end. I don't think they're going to be impossible to do with PUGs, just more difficult than if you've got a group of friends or crewmates you can count on...

UndyingBubbles

I play with randoms but knowing that heists were about to come out I got together with three other people I play on line with and we have set up a new crew specifically for heists so we are ready to roll. I have never had a lot of $ in game as I spend it on rubbish but last night I spent 4 hours plugging away to get some $ to be ready - not fussed about buying new vehicles just want to do the heists and see where I am with $ after doing a few, Only have $400k.

Let's be honest, there will be a problem anyway like servers crashing, problems with downloading the update (I have 187gb spare) etc so to be honest I cannot see me playing a heist properly until later in the week.

If anyone does want to play with a decent player on the 360 though (I am rank 146) add me: HairyCrabstick
