Drifting is cooler at higher speeds, with purpose

Transferring of momentum can be quicker going sideways.

But it also takes more space, hence more time. You lose the racing line.

As other have said, you can't really properly drift in GTA, the cars just have way too much traction, besides the Futo, Slamvan and Rat-Truck, it's damn near impossible.

My question is....why does it bother you so much what other people want to do? 96% of this Forum seems to have an issue with opinions and freedom.

Oh hold on a second right there, that statement makes no sence man. If you're going ''sideways'' the momentum has already been transfered.

Taking the racing line will always be faster than drifting on tarmac. It is different on a loose track, like what rally cars do, but the driving physics are totally different there. And your statement before about F1 not doing any drifting because of tyre setup etc. is total bullsh*t. You've been playing too many arcade racing games boi.

This is stupid 'people cannot drift in gtav'

Come for a ride along with me bruh.

Your hating panties will explode.

BTW, drifting at high speeds is known as power-sliding.

No, it's known as "losing control"

My ruiner, no brake mods, sport suspension and powershifting. Sit in the passenger side through the vineyards and you'll get some initial d sh*t.

Emphasis on Initial D, not Formula D, you rubber smoke huffing yanks.

you can somewhat drift in a fully upgrade massacro (race car) taking corners you have to keep tapping hand breaks and time it right to keep back tires spinning and not stull ,I like taking turns in short blocks to keep the momentum going.or maybe I was just high

Your running the same set up as me, the ruiner is my favorite drifting car, I dont run bumper or spoiler mods either.

for those who are saying you cant drift in gta, you just dont know how.

for those saying you can, but its super slow and looks lame, ok. especially affected is the schwartzer. arguably the smoothest drifter in the game, the speed it uses to do so is laughably slow.

hence why i prefer a banshee, ruiner, or even a vigero. i used to not slam all my cars, but in most every situation it extends the life of your drifts.

heres what you should run on a sport class to get the most out of your drift:

0 armor

fully upgraded engine, transmission, turbo

no bullet proof tires (so you can 'slam' your car)

non-stock exhaust (not tested by me, but apparently limits the amount you can 'downshift', noticeably less backfires on stock, so less ability to spin the wheels)

sport (not competition) suspension. competition lowers too much, especially when slammed.

no spoiler. spoilers add traction in gta.

not all precision work is boring:

Get a front wheel drive car, pop the back tires lol then go into 1st person mode. Works well with my upgraded Benefactor, although not a front wheel drive car.. I'm just assuming that would be the best idea now that I really think about it lol

Drifting in GTA 5 lmao. Get on GTA IV and you'll see drifting. REAL drifting.

GTA 4 is just stupid with its driving lol, everything turns into a drift

Driving in GTA IV takes skills. My 5 year old newphew can drive in GTA V with no skill.Skills lol. My niece sucks at video games, but she could drive in IV.

Furthermore...

Just because it takes skill, that doesn't mean driving in IV was any good. For example, braking was horrible.

Plus, I wouldn't say that "it takes skill" to be good at driving in IV. I'd say that it takes some getting used to. So it's different from skill. Therefore we can deduce that no skill is needed to be good at driving in IV. You just have to get used to it, to the way the cars handle in that game.
