the.metal
What do you guys think? Are they gonna make an update for GTA V to run on DirectX12 when it comes out alongside Windows 10? It seems that DirectX12 will be a huge upgrade from 11, with a much better performance for single GPU or SLI/Crossfire

utack
It probablly has a much better chance of supporting Vulkan. Why? Vulkan ist mostly Mantle, and GTA was on the Mantle evaluation list Take Two has published some Mac and Linux games, these were all OpenGl If, and I really really doubt it, they go the extra mile, it won't be DX12 Edited March 8, 2015 by utack

Earleys
I don't think they will change their engine so that it runs even better on Directx 12, but I can imagine that the game might run a bit better on Directx 12, even when the game is made with 11 in mind. DX12 seems to be a big improvement.

CookinSmokeey
DX10 games has terrible optimization. DX11 is okay. Best DX was DX9. Game makers still using %80 DX9. GTA V is used DX10 for old-gen consoles. R* did good optimization. PS4 and XB1 have DX11 graphics. And of-course PC will has too. Already they coppied PC version to PS4 and XB1. Probably due to the fact that LG and CG is so different in terms of architecture. I'm sure although it's the same game (under the same name), it's very different under the hood. Probably the LG version is specifically built for LG and its DX9 limit, while PC and CG build is interchangeably used due to its similar architecture and built around DX10. Regardless, it's pleasuring to see that developers started to ditch DX9. It's 11 years old, let it go people. Evan-KCR and Naroon

V8VANTAGE
Nope, too much hard work for very little gain on such an outdated engine. GTA VI may very well get DX12 support as long as it takes off as well as Microsoft are expecting it to.
