Its worse when there aren't any vehicles around to steal because then you have a miles walk or run.

This! But to be honest I sometimes just call a cab and then jack his ass. But if you're on top of Mt Chilliad good luck with that.

Has anyone found a solution to this yet? It's rather rage inducing when you start a heist/mission with a piece of garbage only to be told by your mechanic that you're "too close to your personal vehicle" to get the one that you actually do want.

It's like I feel like saying to the guy - Piss off. I'm paying you to do a job. If you're incapable,  then you're fired as hell.

Yes, there's a solution now if you're not a MC president(if you are a MC president, just use your MC menu):

1)Have any personal aircraft, any will do but I personally recommend a bigger aircraft like the Titan, you will need a hangar too.

2) step out of your PV that you want to put away;

3) Open your interaction menu and go to vehicles, request your personal aircraft;

4) once the aircraft icon spawns on the map, you're free to call in for any other PV that you want, it's important to add that you have to stay away from your personal aircraft when it spawns, if you're close to it you won't be able to call in your PV, the range of the area that the personal aircraft  won't let you spawn PVs should be about 1000 meters starting from the aircraft and drawing a circle on the map, this is why bigger aircrafts are better, because they get spawn points further away since they need a larger area to take off;

5)PRESTO! You switched PVs without driving a mile away.

P.S.: Obviously this won't work in heists, seeing as personal aircrafts can't be requested on them

You can request Personal Aircrafts in contact & dispatch missions.

I guess they want players to interact more with the environment? Robbing car off NPC, running down the hill etc.

Originally this was put in to prevent you seeing a car spawn in as rockstar had a phobia of player visualising game mechanics. Now it's just annoying

Call in a jet or whatever aircraft you have to make your vehicle disappear. Once aircraft spawns call back your vehicle.

I see plenty of sh*t spawn out of nowhere on a daily basis in this game.

Exactly, so why they bother us trying to hide things is very annoying.

yes, the best way is to spawn a personal aircraft, and then call the mechanic.      once you become familiar with the aircraft spawn points, you can avoid the 'you're too close to your personal vehicle' message from being too close to the aircraft to then use the mechanic to bring a car.      also, if you're smart, you can of course drive the PV right to where the aircraft will spawn, and not have to run for the aircraft, when the time comes for that.

also, a little bit of thinking ahead can prevent this nonsense.    for example, try not to call the mechanic while under a bridge, or a freeway overpass, or down a long alley, etc...   with experience you'll begin to sort of know where it'll do this bullsh*t and where it won't.     some of the neighborhoods in Vinewood are the worst, for spawning the damn thing two blocks away, for example.     sometimes just being on the other side of the street makes all the difference.

Solution 1: Steal a street car and drive a couple of blocks away to call in for a new car.
Solution 2: Get your character off his/her lazy butt and run a couple of blocks away to call in a new car.
Solution 3: Blow up your PV and just call in a new one. Takes less time than getting a Pop Tart out of that foil package.

Also, always look where you DON'T want the vehicle to spawn.

Usually works.

Especially since now with the Arena Wars update pedestrian cars will just disappear into thin air right in front of you. And if you're in a stolen car off of the streets and take another car off of the street, your first car will just vanish instantly right next to you.

Then you get to play bounty roulette, and you will get one at the worse possible time,  after what is it now, 5 years of getting bountys,  Ive started using the free vehicles from CEO and just spawn one of them instead of jacking one off the street.

Often I pinch cars while on passive mode to avoid the bounties. But if I'm in public/with friends, I'll just let another drop me quick too. Sometimes though when I know I'm running about in freemode, I'll get one on purpose too.

Free cash, plus selling a baller. Decent for nothing. :)

Oh sure, Its fun trying to survive a bounty, I love trying to find new hiding spots when I have one to see how long I can make it.

I used to love being chased too, but as a car man against all that's out there, not as often these days, lol.

But yeah, when on businesses or in a pinch and want a low profile, bounties can be a mixed bag.

I would always run a few blocks far enough for the game to recognise I’m a distance away from my PV or register as a MC President to send my PV back to storage.

It's always fun spawning the wrong PA.. then realizing you can't send it back because you aren't a MC President/don't have access to the MC menu at the moment.

But then you risk a bounty stealing a car.

I said the same thing, I am sort of over getting bounties stealing a car because of the stupid spawn system

yeah well i parked my elegy rs8 on the "unemploded ammunition" thing near the train bridge above the river treasure hunt location, after finding it, i went back to my ride, it wasnt there but it said it was, and now i cant request a new one until i had to jack a slow-ass car, get some distance away (and a bounty aswell) and order a new one  https://xboxclips.com/AtypicalScarf47/screenshots/11fd739b-5c3a-4558-826d-f8fdb1ab5c1f

Dr.Rosenthal

Register as MC President. Personal Vehicle -> Return vehicle to storage. Disband MC. Call Mechanic.

I don't care if it sometimes costs me 30k, I want that car now and I want it right where I'm standing.

Looking directly at your feet works well too; doesn't have to be in the opposite direction.

lol Until you want to do something in a public session that requires some peace and quiet.

Then it's a bit of a problem/risk. 😕

I try to coax it into spawning closer to the way I want to go by looking in the opposite direction, but it doesn't always work, because R* logic.

Just like when you spawn a block away from your TByte when leaving while riding the MkII.  🤪
