I've always wondered why I can't just order a new vehicle straight off the bat, instead of jacking a car, and driving a mile away just to order a new one.

Is there a specific reason behind it? I really don't see the problem.

I ask myself the same thing. Why bother with making us go far away? Certain vehicles spawn out of nowhere already, so why not with personal vehicles?

I think they don't want people to have that mentality. I'm guessing they want to keep it at least somewhat grounded, so that you actually have to do some foot work - rather than just teleporting a car to your feet when you're slightly offroad.

This can be so infuriating, especially when I have the wrong Personal Vehicle as my default, rather than simply calling in another one, I have to steal an NPC vehicle (Risking a bounty) drive a few blocks away, call and make sure the timer isn't activated.....THEN and ONLY THEN, can I get the correct vehicle.

 

I don't really see the need for this, if it's such an issue, why not simply make the other vehicle in your proximity dissapear?

This always annoys the sh*t out of me. I always end up having to steal a slow ass car as well just to get away from my PV.

What annoys me is when your PV is parked where you can't reach it. No cars are spawning so you have to sprint the few blocks to call the Mechanic and hope he can deliver the PV you want

The Logic is so sound it confuses R*.

 

Me: Driving Car A, calls Mechanic for Car B.

 

Mechanic: Drives Car B to my Current Location and collects Car A to drive it back to my Garage.

 

Me: Now driving Car B.

 

Edit: Of course the Mechanic would not physically appear. Car A would be bricked (kicking you out if you are in it) and Car B would become your active Personal Vehicle and appear nearby.

You can hold select on the PS3 and then scroll down and click Request Personal Vehicle, it moves your car/bike to you as if it were delivered by a mechanic. The downside to this is that it still follows the "Too close" rule and you cannot select a different vehicle, only the one on the streets

It'd be viable if its a car that's not worth too much.

But Adder/Entity/Zentorno or anything within the 5-12k range is not worth it imo.

Course I'm use to it.

It's just that Today I was in a heated battle between around 10 people.

I wanted to bail with one of my fast cars, but the one on the street was a few blocks away.

Well there was a crap ton of enemies blocking me so I had no chance.

Tried calling up my mechanic.

"You are too close to your Current Personal Vehicle."

Yeah, I could take an NPC vehicle but if someone chased me, I'd have no chance in it, and I'm more of a target since they wont any penalty for blowing up an NPCs car.

Eventually I plucked up the courage to try and retrieve it.

I died.

Along with the vehicle.

im used to it... the cooldown however!? What about when a noob keeps driving past and blowing up your PV's and you have to wait for the f**king cooldown to get any car

Never understood the cooldown on the mechanic. If I'm PAYING you a certain amount a day, WHY THE f*ck CAN I not call my cal whenever the f*ck I want to? Pisses me off to no end lol

There is a cooldown cause you have to wait for your mechanic to get back to your garage after he delivers you your car. He probably walks so far just to get back to your garage. That or he just takes a bus. He should get paid more if anything.
