Is there a native to detect and or store mouse position?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. I need to detect if the mouse position has changed in regards to its previous position and make changes when this happens for a script.

I haven't started yet - I'm pretty new to the GTA Natives and so forth - so I was wondering if anyone knows off hand the best way?

Currently all I can think of based off what I know, is to reference the camera for changes - but I'm going to be doing this while AIMING at a person WITHOUT a weapon, so the camera locks to focus.

Little help for the new guy? ;)

Thanks!

EDIT : found something might be useful.

GTA.Game.Mouse.PositionPixel.X; - gonna go play. If you guys have any other suggestions I'm open to them!

Well that ones a no go - because I'm focused on the person with the camera, and without a weapon.. the mouse pos doesn't move... :|

Maybe I should use a windows mouse tracking method instead?

EDIT EDIT :

GTA.Game.Mouse.Movement - tracks even if cameras not moving.. :|

You should've posted this in the Coding section. :)

Is this for GTA IV or V? You should specify in either the title or in the description.

And I don't think a mouse position will help you with what you are doing. The camera's rotation might be better for this.

Damnit got my morning mind going... WHERE AM I?!?!? ... I'll move it I thought I was in the coding section. Lmfao. Scripting for IV. Waiting for V for PC... :|

Now... if I can just find how to move this thing... rather new in these woods.

I'm pretty sure you just have to report the topic and say it needs to be moved.

You should use the camera's rotation instead. With a timer, save the current camera rotation, then in the next tick get the camera rotation again and use the .DistanceTo(...) function to get the distance between the last rotation and the new one.

P.S. Why did you put your last post as the "Best Answer"? XD

Yea. I'll try to stop screwing up the message board. The second edit I used had the desired results.
