Hardest achievement or trophy you got?

What is the hardest achievement or trophy you got?

Mine would have to be the Star 69 achievement from Modern Warfare 2. I completed all of the single player spec ops missions solo, and had to operate both controllers for one of the co-op missions since I had no one to play with.

Though I also think the Moderator Challenge achievement from Need For Speed Carbon for beating an EA moderator deserves a mention. I got my achievement back in 2012. Good luck finding an EA moderator that still plays NFS Carbon these days.

"Defeated ???", 100G on Import Tuner Challenge. The challenge and difficulty of it is to see whether your personality makes it on the other side alive without it being grated into dust, because he'll only appear if you've managed to defeat all other racers within the game, which include a group called the "Wanderers" which have no specified racing team and appear under extremely specific conditions.

Here's a little taster of the conditions you have to forefill to get members of this group to appear;

#361 Caffeine X3 – Shibaura PA. Appears on any day with a number "3", and your car plate must be "3333"

#340 Tsujikiri Gambler – Shinkanjo. Appear when the sum of the day's number equals 9

#347 King of Eden – Shinjuku. Must drive RX-8 with less than 62 miles

#330 Shimokitazawa 2000cc – Shibuya. Appears on Weekends and you must have driven 20 Miles that day

#337 Jet Skater – Shinkanjo. Multiples of 4 and have Nitro equipped

..And that's just five of 66 in total to defeat, of which you will always manage because the games AI is woefully pathetic asides from this final '???' who is only difficult due to an overpowered car. This combines for a frustratingly irritating and mind-numbing process with bland music, bad handling and no real way to streamline/predict a quick way to defeat them all as coincidences could align for you to be able to quickly defeat another one of these 'Wanderers' but ignore your plans to defeat a rarer one further away that you realise after jumping to something straight infront of you will only appear again after another ten ingame days.

Probably the 'No Point in Dying' trophy for LIMBO. My rarest, according to PSN profiles, is GTA V 100% (PS4), although that's just persistence rather than difficulty.

In recent memory, some difficult trophies:

Ghosts: Completionist trophy requires you to escape in Extinction mode, performing all of the optional challenges. You need to completely master the game before you can do this.

LBP: The trophy that requires 50 level hearts & 30 creator hearts. Took me 5 years to get it.

TLoU: Beating the campaign on Survivor was challenging but exhilarating. (still need survivor+ and all collectibles).

The Grounded Mode trophy on The Last of Us (Remastered) was an absolute pain to get. I'm glad I managed to beat it on that difficulty, but it's definitely not something I'd ever want to do again.

In case anyone's wondering, it gives you trophies for lower difficulties if you haven't completed those yet (I jumped straight from Normal to Grounded).

That Import Tuner Challenge seems really similar to the Tokyo Xtreme Racer series. I remember Caffeine X3 from TXR3. Are the games similar, and if so, would you recommend Import Tuner Challenge?

The hardest achievement I have that comes to mind is beating the Halo 1 campaign solo legendary. I'm working on Halo 2 right now from the Halo MCC, and I consider Halo 2 on legendary way harder than Halo 1.

7 Day Survivor in Dead Rising.

It takes 14 hours of playing without being able to save, and your health constantly ticking down and needing to find food that does not respawn once you pick it up. Edited by Freakorama

Cool thread topic.

- OVERKILL Salutes You! - PAYDAY 2

Complete every single job on the "Deathwish" difficulty. Glad I completed that back in the day before they added some of the harder heists... I'm not proud of the amount of time we spent getting arbitrary 'chieves in that game. What a fun summer that was.

- OVERDRILL! - PAYDAY: The Heist

Look up "The Overdrill Secret" to see just how much goes into that one...

- Two out of Three - The Walking Dead, Season One

f*ck you, RNJesus. You asshole. Took me like 6 tries. You have to randomly win a game of rock/paper/scissors. If you fail, you have to watch about 8 minutes of dialogue again before retrying.

- Little Rocket Man - Half Life Two: Episode 2

This one's infamous. Google that one as well. Jesus Christ that helicopter...

The Dead Rising 1 achievement where you have to kill a crapload of zombies cause I f*cked it up, having to do it twice in a row. Also the GTAIV achievement where you got to rank 10, purely because I grinded Hangman's Noose for an entire summer since I just wanted to play free roam with all the unlocks.

YA BOY DIRT

inFAMOUS 1 "Rockhound" trophy -- Collect every single Blast Shard in Empire City.

That sh*t took me 4 years.
