I am a little worried about DLC updates after the PC version releases. There are a few things that could happen. What do you guys think?

Hopefully, they will go with option 1. Since the release of GTA Online, they have been releasing small updates to the game periodically. Sometimes they skip a month. But the big DLC that was coming was Heists. We knew about the Heists update for a while now, practically since before the original release of GTA V. Could there be new content after heists? Could there be big updates that we know about for a while, or a surprise one where we find out about it at most a week before? But most importantly, will Rockstar be dicks and decide to make PC players wait longer for a DLC update. That would really piss me off. Even if it is a standard DLC that comes with new cloths, guns, tattoos, masks, and vehicles, and they make PC players wait a week longer than console players. It would piss a lot of PC gamers off if they did that. But it wouldn't surprise me. However, there still is a chance that PC players could get the content at the same time. In the past Rockstar has released content on console at the same time as PC. GTA III, VC, and SA were released on Xbox at the same time they were released on PC, I think. I know that EFLC was released on PC the same time it was released on PS3. But still, those releases were after the original, because GTA III, VC, and SA had already been out on PS2 first, and EFLC had already been out on Xbox 360 first.

If Rockstar made PC players wait longer, even as little of a week extra for a content update, this confirms that they prefer that players play on console, because there shouldn't be any technical reasons not to. Lets hope that PC will get content updates at the same time as the console players do.

Anyways, thoughts?

seeing that they want heists on pc at launch, im guessing theyll release them at the same time on both. Otherwise, they would release pc without heists and patch it in later. But with rockstar, who knows?

Probably release on console first because they would want you to buy the dlc first on console and then on pc.

DLC are free. You just buy the DLC stuff with in-game money. Story DLC will probably cost though.

Consoles will get it and PC will need to wait 18 months to get it.

I can just imagine it now:

"We are proud to announce that GTA V: San Fierro & GTA V: Las Venturas will be arriving on PS3, PS4, XBOX 360, XBOX ONE and PC on July 6th 2015!"

Early June we get a message from Rockstar:

"We are announcing a new release date for GTA V DLC on PC! We understand some fans may be upset but we simply need more time to polish the game! The DLC will arrive on September 14th 2015!"

then

"GTA V DLC on PC now releasing OCTOBER 2015!"

then

"JANUARY 2016!"

and so on until

"JANUARY 2017!!"

I could believe that. It does seem likely that if there is any paid DLC, consoles will get it first, but free DLC, they will be at the same time. But there is the chance that the Single Player DLC will be free as well, seeing how DLC is funded by Shark Cards.

Story DLC was what I thought he meant.

no one would do that. Who would buy story dlc twice. most people that bought the game again on ps4/xbone bought it for online, not single player.

They will release all the additional content simultaneously simply, because of the one reason! DLCs are never at the same scale of importance and hype as game on its own! There is no point to push back DLC release, because its not like they'd force millions of fans to wait till they err..."polish" it and then release later! LOL A lot of fans would just be like "man...screw it, i'm not that interested anymore..." and just move on at very most just torrent it if they're to curious to see if this DLC was worth all the pushing back...Trust me, pushing back DLCs won't make them any profit, it would only make more PC crowd angry and more people pirating their game...nothing good will come out of it and they know it! If we were talking about millions of people buying DLC content then i'd understand, but the thing is that number of people, who buy the DLCs after the game's release is like incomparably smaller (like devided by 10 or maybe even more! LOL), so if you're clever person you'd realize, that delaying it won't make you any profit...

Who needs their dlc when we'll have mods? So far all their DLC is just materialistic stuff like cars and clothes that costs an arm and a leg in Online.

Because modders wont be able to hire Shawn, Ned and Steven to do additional voices for future DLC's.

And not only because of that! I myself for example cannot imagine any mod, introducing a fully working, heavily scripted flamethrower weapon! (no i'm not talking about assault rifle weapon model, that would be used, but recolored with flaming skin, that would shoot flame bullets, that would act as normal bullets, but just visually flamed up!) LOL I'm talking about the REAL DEAL, like new flame death animations, people panicking running in circles, flame spreading from one object to another, cool weapon model and realistically looking flame and all that stuff, People's corpses all burned up and stuff as an aftermath! Etc...The same goes to Chainsaw, i can't imagine anyone introducing fully working dismemberment system, that would be complicated and heavy scripted! I can go on and on...but you get my point...Mods can't change those things and will never be able to, unless R* introduces some kind of almighty modding tool, that would let us do with their engine whatever the hell we want! Off course even if we would indeed get such a powerful utility, we would then need a modder with professional level of scripting/animating/texturing skills, which i've never seen with ANY mods released for ANY game to date...the best of them struggle as much as possible, but are limited to what they can do, due to modding utility being not powerful enough to give them real freedom to do whatever they want!...

Using the examples of previous GTA games is not a good idea, because they didn't have releases on all platforms at once for two reasons.

- Sony had time-exclusive rights for the PS2-generation GTA games, so PC and Xbox had to wait. This may have extended to platform exclusivity to the Stories duology, hence why they're officially only on Sony systems.

- Microsoft had time-exclusive rights for GTA IV's DLC, so PC and PS3 had to wait.

I would hope after the PC version comes out, they try to nail a worldwide multiplatform release for all future content for the game. Assuming Sony or Microsoft does not buy time exclusivity. I can imagine Sony trying this for GTA V's story DLC, dealing yet another shotgun blast to Microsoft this generation.

PC and consoles will get at the same time if it's free. If it's paid then consoles will get first.

Nah, probably the same on both unless either Sony or MS paid R* to make a story DLC, a timed exclusive just like EFLC and X360.

The main concern of getting the PC version of the game later is because of the fact it was made later. All future DLC, I imagine, is going to be made paralell of each other. So hopefully we should be good. If there were small delays such as a day or two between DLC releases I'd be okay with that. I can't imagine it'd be as much as that though.

Y'all motherf*ckers stupid. DLC always releases on all platforms at the same time. All DLC is free, as well. No exclusivity here, just some f*ckers that think Rockstar literally has nothing better to do then cock PC players.

I think that Story DLC will cost money tho. And also, yea I think all DLC will be released at the same time.
