Daily Objectives
The Los Santos daily hustle just got a little more lucrative. Whether you tend towards Jobs or free-form activities, Daily Objectives will give you a rotating series of challenges to take on for GTA$ rewards. With three new objectives per day, players can stack up challenges over consecutive days to earn bonuses of up to $500,000.

Will this bring the game back to life? Do you think this is a good incentive to get players to return? Or do you think that they will just become stale after a week or two and drop back off?

Personally I think They need more frequent updates with stuff to spend money on to make people interested for longer than a few days at a time. Like if we knew there was goning to be minor updates every 2 months then people would have more reason to grind some cash up.

They also said they are adding more things to do in freeroam.

New Freemode Activities
You and your fellow players also have new opportunities for cash and RP rewards with new activities added to the world in Freemode. Be on the lookout for calls from Lester, who may need help to distract the cops in a specific area while Lester’s accomplices finish their criminal business. Lamar may call looking for help destroying a vehicle or two, while Trevor and Ron need occasional help picking their business rival’s planes out of the sky. Along with GTA$ and RP bonuses, there are all-new Awards available for completing these challenges with style.

There's also a new in-game Email notification system that will allow you to contact and message any of your GTA Online friends, no matter what session they’re in - as well as a host of new Awards that yield new items including exclusive t-shirts and car modifications.

Everything detailed here will be added to GTA Online for consoles in tandem with Heists on March 10th and on day one for PC when it launches on April 14. Stay tuned to the Newswire for more news, including our suggestions on how you can ready your crew to take down scores when Heists launch next week.

I'm more curious as to why all the sudden there is so much cash being thrown around Los Santos. Heist, daily challenges, de-nerfing the sad trombone. I mean, exactly how expensive is it going to get to live and play in LS? What are we needing all the money for? I can see it now Lazer $10M, Hydra $15M, and you can buy the carrier for $1 Billion. And if chrome rims come out, they will cost $100k

I think it's a great addition. Daily challenges add playability to a game as people may come back daily to play gta. It's something to do and depending on the challenges it can populate game modes that you need to play to complete the challenge.

I think failure is going to be VERY expensive for the heists leaders which is the reason why R* is adding in additional ways to make money.

That is what I'm afraid of, how do I tell my wife - "Sorry honey, your just not good enough to run in my heist crew!" Not that I care about the money but if I go all in with say $ 1 Million, I'd rather not lose it all due to someone else.

Depending on what the dailies are will make a big difference as to whether anyone I know will return. TBH I dont know a single person IRL that still plays and most of them wouldnt even play if they were paid. A lot of the players that left have left for good reasons like there is nothing to do except farm money for no reason. I play now and then because I enjoy the game but I can see where they are coming from.

If they try to force game modes then Im out. Not going to hang around for hours on end trying to get a capture or LMS up and running. I dont even like racing or DM in this game.Racing is OK but people ruin it and competitive shooting on GTA is just a joke to me.

Hi alien.

Why do you think the game is dead?

Is it cause you don't play?

For those of us who play, the game is far from dead.

These new additions just give us something else to do.

I know I don't need to spend money to find the game fun.

I just hope that the dailies won't be the same small handful of objectives repeated and re-purposed to death. Hell, even 75% of the contact missions feel this way. Go to [location], kill [gang members], retrieve [drugs/vehicle], deliver [drugs/vehicle] to [contact]'s (ware/safe)house.

Here's some things I would like to see as daily objectives:

Participate in/Win a specific game mode.
Play and rate a specific number of non-R* jobs.

Win a non-R* job that you didn't personally create.

Win an impromptu race in free roam.

Shooting Range-based objectives (get the gold medal with SMGs, or beat another player with shotguns)

This is why ive been having the wife run missions with randoms! They wont coddle her and shes been raging against ppl in free mode, so we're getting her ready. Now that she plays, cant kick her off the heists squad! Sorry conjusted nasal breathing extra hard snot nose its my allergies guy, youve been replaced! Cant stand being in party chat w/ him anyway! Pretty sure the challenges are going to be a chore and most likely in public mode only with minimum of 4 players.

You think the challenges are something like: "Run over 50 peds under 5 minutes. Reward: 50k"; "Steal a Jet off the Military Base. Reward: 50k"

Nah. The impossibility is too high.

Hasta la vista sounds awesome. As far as dailies, im not one hundred percent Clear on that aspect. Though I'm more than down to have a random npc gunfight going on that I need to distract cops from, or take down some plane at random times. I can't wait to be Ina lazer when that call comes in, I already have more fun hunting lesters targets in a lazer than every white dot on the map, though that will never lose its fun as long as there is annoying tough talkers on the mics

Commander S

I like the idea - particularly if, like similar systems in games like Halo: Reach and Destiny, the objectives are broad enough that many different activities can work towards knocking 'em out. For example, a 'PvE' objective like 'kill 100 NPC enemies' can be done in missions, Survivals, gang attacks, Heists, etc. - that'd be great, because it's currently nowhere near as worthwhile progression-wise to mess around in Freemode compared to doing jobs. That would at least mean you could rinse out a gang attack or start a rampage against the cops, and actually have something to show for your efforts.

As for the new Freemode activies, that'll go hand-in-hand with the objectives, and give a bit of needed expansion to the existing stuff like 'kill target', HPV runs or import/export jobs. That, and it'll make the regular city hub feel more like a place where things are happening, rather than a static 'hub' (aside from other players, obviously!) where nothing of importance happens outside of missions.

I can dig it. A big problem for Online right now is that freeroam is....well...objectiveless, turning the place into either a large scale deathmatch, or practically single player (this is of course, ignoring when you play with friends.)

Giving players (namely me) something to do would kill time healthily.

I know it's not on the list but, drug dealing would be cool. Like in China Town Wars, you choose your product based on fluctuating prices and travel the free roam map makin' deals and paper. Y'know, a kinda laid-back way of making (or possibly losing) lumps of cash by buying/selling various substances would add a risk/reward system while giving us SOMETHING to spend our monies on.

I hope there's one challenge for each type of player.

For example:

1; Complete 5 gang attacks

2; Finish 3 versus missions

3; Hunt down 3 bounties

Now you have things for people doing jobs, free roam, for co-op players and PvP players.

this seems like the realistic amount.

Although the gang attacks might be higher in number.

I am looking forward to these jobs, I really like free roam tasks like Simeon's car, even though it pays crap and has no variety. The Kill Target is awesome, but I hate that it doesn't happen in private sessions. Hopefully these are always available in all sessions, and you can kind of handle them when you want, like errands. It's a bit more immersive, like the city is actually humming and not just a backdrop.
