Jobs > View Player Info > Kick Player

Recommended Posts

My post poses a few different questions, all relating to the topic of Job Saboteurs and Kicking players.

1. Just curious how other players handle Job saboteurs - the player who joins a mission to either run everyone over, blow up cars, run off with objective items (vehicles, documents, Anna, etc)?

2. If you, yourself, are or have become one of the saboteurs, yourself, what is your justification for ruining jobs/missions for other players? (be honest, too!)

3. The Kick Player system seems flawed in this game. It's bad enough in the Free Roam lobbies, as it takes half the lobby to vote someone out, but during a Job, unless everyone votes to kick a player, they are permitted to stay. What's your thought on possibly fixing this system?

4. Whether it's a saboteur or just another player who is AFK and joins to reap the rewards of your efforts, if kicking them were an option, would you use it?

5. Lastly, when hosting a Job and seeing a player of certain rank (say over 300) or style (modded costume, like stripper or alien), do you consider kicking that player, knowing that the chances are that they're just bored and are likely going to bring havoc to the Job?

Hope my questions were clear, and as always, it's just curiosity on my part, but I'm sincerely interested in your replies.

And yes, it's possible that this topic was made before, but before you come in blathering, CrazyRay, perhaps consider just offering a reply, instead. CHEERS! :)

I only ever:

1. Accidentally sabotaged a mission and usually I'll send an apology to the host when it's restarted.

2. Deliberately sabotaged a mission because I worked it off, yet the host and his friends were being a dick. And I quadrupled their own sh*t afterwards.

I kick AFK-ers and saboteurs. Too bad other players often don't care or don't know how to use the Kick button.

I don't assume anything about someone when i see certain rank levels or if they are modding. I've been lucky though...the jobs i join rarely have saboteurs...i mostly just get sh*tty players.

Having said that, ya i guess the kick system is flawed. Not really in free roam though...what do you suggest, a third of the vote to kick players? One or two?...it seems like it would be abused if it were anything less than twenty five percent of the lobby...even then it might be pushing it imo.

R* should disable the Kick option if Host hasn't set his matchmaking options to closed (mission lobby is too late)

If I'm invited to a job and then kicked I report the host for griefing, as well as send him a text telling him he's been reported and instructions for how to set

his matchmaking options.

As far as trolling, no I've never failed a mission on purpose. I do miss the days when you could play with randoms, I met a lot of very good players in missions and survivors. Most of them have stopped playing now, so I do most missions solo with my Buzzard

I'm not sure what the solution would be, to be honest. In Free Roam, if I encounter someone modding or abusive, I either avoid them, mute them, or change sessions. The Kick feature is when someone is over the top annoying to the rest of the lobby, to the point where I can hear them squawking through other player's mics. If there's 16 players in the lobby and 5-6 players vote to kick, then that seems about right. I dunno. ;)

Why would you kick someone in free roam????

You can play in Invite only or you can set your mics to friends / crew

The whole Kick feature is just another griefing tool

When it comes to missions, I typically only play with crew members, of whom I have the utmost confidence... Otherwise, those who join the lobby before I have the opportunity to switch it to "Closed" are judged based a Machiavellian system which includes both their level and most important, how creative their gamer tag is... Anyone with "xxX" "Yollo" "Shwag" "Pwn" or any form of uncreative "leet speak", is instantly sent packing, while those who take care and consideration in their names are given the chance! ;)

It's a draconian system, I know... But it works for us! :)

I always get kicked on my main account lvl 360. I don't know by what logic?. I'm only there to help and most the time I'm the only one to finish the mission and get the noobs the cash when they don't kick me.

On my lvl 60 account I never get kick off the lobby even though its still me... Illogical.

OK so you are one of the retards who kicks me. Learn to set the missions to closed by default in your settings. Not that hard... Edited by elfoam

I never kick anyone. I leave if they're pricks. They an do it on their own, can't they?

As for people who kick randoms even though they're not smart enough to set "Closed" as default in the options menu, screw you. IF you want to be with your crew, I understand. But you can quite literally set matchmaking to "Closed" BEFORE you host a game so that you don't bother us Random Contact Missions players.

No, i'm one of the people who has been playing GTA-O since the first hour of it's release and have longstanding experience with self-satisfying, grieving, douchebag's who seem fit to try and troll my friends and I, instead of playing the game, earning XP and money through missions... I prefer (whenever possible) to give the lower levels, the benefit of the doubt and a chance to elevate their status (through level locked missions) whenever possible... But I refuse to be trolled, and we have systems in place to prevent this...At this point in the game's development, If you choose to lobby hop (crew-less) then that's your prerogative... But don't judge us, just because you've decided to not settle on a "core" group of players whom you trust!

My crews (both of them) don't do missions.

1) Ignore them, feign indifference but secretly plot to violently run them over at some point.

2) So they can send 'umadbro' texts

3) I think the kick player system is fine, it's flawed and open to abuse by idiots but still better than most alternatives. Kind of like democracy.

4) Should be an auto kick countdown for AFKers

5) I rarely host, but I would kick low ranks making a lot of noise on the mic that's about it

another Noob who doesn't know how to set his matchmaking options

Changing it in the mission lobby is too late, you've already invited people, now you have to be a DB and kick them

You sound so much like a feminist it's ridiculous. Just put the damn toilet seat down yourself and close your missions.

I tend to be pretty patient. With jobs I'm going to get paid whether it's passed or failed, so if someone runs off with the objective, sometimes I'll just rubberband the controller and go eat/ surf the net.

The last time it was just me and one afk player (he was host), I got right up to his face, rubberbanded the controller and then left to do grocery shopping.

I just run over AFK players and kill them, if it's an easy mission where we're not likely to want the spare life.

Every time I've done it they've immediately spawned and started moving around, so they're obviously sat there, but just waiting for us to do all the work.

One guy was afk for a whole mission, letting us do all the work, then we did an easy mission (the one where you have to steal the Mustang and deliver it to Simeon's garage) and he was still doing nothing, despite having voted for the job.

So I ran him over and he respawned straight away and started moving. Funny that. Then he tried running me over whilst I was actively doing the mission. He failed and instead blew up my car, thereby costing him his mission payout. Hah.

Funny enough, he left after that mission. :-)

Vendetta ™

Honestly, it depends on the sort of player, but usually....

1. If they do something that causes the mission to fail, I'll just kill them when the mission restarts, I press for a kick, yeah, but it no one else ever votes.
2. No, the only time I'd purposely sabotage the mission is if the team is AFK, destroys my PV for no apparent reason or are just being jackasses in general, they don['t deserve the rewards.
3. I'd recommend a system that judges the amount of kicks required based on the player's actions, if the player is portrayed to be a "hothead" (Going around destroying vehicles, high mental state etc.),
then it'd take less votes, on the other hand, a non-offender should require many more votes before they can be kicked.
4. Yes, I hate when people join missions and then sit there with their thumb up their ass, either it's laziness or they're doing something else in real life (Which, if so, you shouldn't have joined the mission
in the first place)
5. No, if I even think there's a "Modder" in the session, I'm going to leave.

only do missions with friends and crew any stranger joins they get kicked!!

It's a sad state of affairs for GTAO (or any online game for that matter) when this is the reaction to random players joining sessions.

People have brought it upon themselves though - so many immature trolls... welcome to online multiplayer, where anonymity turns people into complete dickwads. :(

Why would you rather kick someone than set your missions to closed. You didn't even bother to read my post. How can you have been playing since day one and never learned how to set an option.

Online>options>matchmaking>closed

Do it and stop being an annoying dick. No one deserves to be innocently kicked because of your incompetence. All you are doing is wasting peoples precious time.

I generally go get my Cargobob and start dropping PV's in the ocean when Mission Trolls start killing teammates

and it's not like your going to get any less money because they didn't participate

Just because you've been playing since launch doesn't prevent you from making a noob move...

not knowing how to set your matchmaking options is a "noob move" regardless of how long you've been playing.

low levels mean nothing, there's a good chance its the 2nd character of a high level

When you're the host, you can get any player who has joined I do it all the time because I don't like playing with random ppl frl nd this would usually happen to me as well, rank means nothing :panic:

I usually end up getting kicked from the lobby before the mission even starts which I'm sure is due to my rank. People think I'm either a troll with nothing to do or a hacker that has a "Instafailthemission" button.
