Discuss anything about the band. their last album was Aftershock, now they've hit the studio to produce another one! hopefully not their last.

This is Phil Campbell in the studio working on the new f*ckin album!

This is Lemmy practicing in the studio, (this guy is 69 now, can you believe it?)

Lemmy's vocals got tired, Aftershock wasnt that varied because of it. i still liked it but its not on par with their other albums at all. it sounded all the same. hopefully he has recovered now.

My favorite tracks are:

My favorite albums, are Bastards, Bomber, March or Die (I dont get the hate for that album, it had badass tracks with amazing lyrics and still sounded like Motorhead) Another Perfect Day (Robertson was amazing there, too bad he had conflicts with the rest of the band and left) Inferno and The World is Yours.

69?

Is amazing the guy lasted so much, i know the guy taught Sid Vicious to play guitar but he said he was a lost cause.

Lemmy is a weird guy, with all the heartless spechees, superb handlebar mustache, cowboy hats and fascination for nazi stuff, he sure was born in the wrong time.

Some of my favorite songs:

I too really loved March Or Die and The World Is Yours.

Part of the hate for March Or Die was that apparently it wasnt like the usual heavy Motorhead. personally i liked the calm tracks like i aint no nice guy and too good to be true. that and every song on there was awesome. but yeah some fans didnt like the change.

Brotherhood of Man is pure badass. so raw. Listen to this, also heavy and solid.

Well its here now. i dunno why no one ever made one before.

That last song is a favorite of mine. this is why i love Motorhead, because they have the guts to produce songs like that.

I've got into Another Perfect Day lately, its a change from the normal Motorhead stuff, more melodic, but still awesome. Brian Robertson is amazing on a guitar.

Sissy Songs :D

Wanna fight?

I'LL STOMP YOUR HEAD COWBOY!!

and nice butchering of the english language, obviously sissy can't be used as an adjective with Motorhead.

Here are anothers songs:

[/url]

Is really interesting when Lemmy covers a song, if he did rap and cover The Carpenters, still would hear the song. From the beginning to the end

I also have a good song linked on my profile.

Edit: i give up, i'm on my cell and video link is a bitch.

You posted Motorhead in your first post.

Locomotive is fantastic, The Trooper is okay, his voice just doesnt match that much tho, i prefer the original.

This is a good cover IMO:

I first saw 'em live back in '87.

They're usually good for half an album then my ear gets tired.

For an underrated Motorhead song, try 'Dogs' from Eat the Rich'.

The biggest thing we have to thank Motörhead for is d-beat.

Never heard of that band.

Were they inspired by Motorhead? Many bands were.

The whole genre is- the characteristic d-beat drum pattern is borrowed from Motörhead.

Basically, an entire subgenre of hardcore punk formed around a couple of bands in the UK street punk scene- Discharge, The Varukers and Disorder principally- who were heavily influenced by British heavy metal at the time.

Nah, that's definitely Lemmy on vocals. That live version was recorded 6 years later. Smoking, booze and drugs made his voice rougher.

This is what he sounded like in '72.

I know Silver Machine. That song you listed is pretty old, and never made it into the album On Parole. (which sounds like the usual Lemmy) Thats why i didnt recognize his voice.

I definitely like his new voice anyways. I liked his voice during the lineup with Eddie Clarke and Phil Taylor. It stayed great throughout the years. but it was at its best at that time.

As for early Motorhead vs new Motorhead. I like both. the first lineup was great. But they released some kick ass albums with Mikkey Dee and Phil Campbell as well. I wouldnt favor one lineup over the other.

----

Here is something that Lemmy has done with two other artists (Slim Jim and Danny B) that i really like. Very different from the loud heavy Motorhead.

Its from the album Fool's Paradise. which was fantastic. its mostly covers of 50s songs and artists like Buddy Holly.

You'll get used to it. Listen to older albums like Bomber or Motorhead. and listen to newer albums like The World is Yours and Inferno, there is a lot of variety in my opinion. Lemmy's voice is what makes the band unique.

If you liked that song, heres another from the same album.

Yeah, but I like British metal, like Saxon, Diamond Head, Angel Witch, just other type of voice... Lemmy voice is very rockish, like Brian from Stray Cats but more deep and hardly enjoyable to me.

I love Phil and Dee of course!
