When hype is over..

Recommended Posts

We can see that story is plain without any depth, game is short, no good city activities (yes, yoga, tennis, golf ftw), no interactions with NPC's, very few interiors, senseless arcade driving without any feeling, what else? Oh, that's almost everything what GTA's gameplay is. Well, should be.. In the end it seems like they only polished the world which is huge but no emotions there. Big shiny cheap cookie.

Quantity is not quality, sadly.

I'm just thinking why? Money talks? For sure. But even then there could be good ideas. In GTA V it feels like they ran out of them.

Give them thousands of weapons, thousands of cars, give them option to customize them, give them Barbie house. Microtransactions. All the same. Cheap shot.

No nice weapon, well skinned car or Hollywood overexposed colours can patch that big empty hole without remarkable gameplay.

Is Rockstar really so feared to make challenging game? Or they simply don't know how to do it.

Sorry, I'm just not fan of simplifying everything and in the end delivering of nothing. GTA was always (more or less) fun or dark fun but now they felt down to era of easy listening radios. Don't think, just listen.

Good for business? Of course, sadly again. Good for players who want just a little bit more? Not so much.

Rockstar has no balls anymore. Clever balls.

The main story is over 30 hours long without any replay value or side activities. I don't know how you can think that it's short...

Excuse me? LOL It may be LONG when you compared it to a linear shooter, but for an open world sandbox game? No freaking way! OMG The least story should have taken to complete is 80 hours!...No less than that!...And YES! That is for a quick run, without doing side activities and stuff...

There's heaps of interaction with peds sometimes when you press the d pad to interact with them they will tell you a story, there usually pretty funny too and trevor has unique interactions depending on what kind of person your talking to

Gang members

Fat people

Old people

Homeless people

Hipsters

Agree. This is something I always felt as well and mentioned many times before.

I'm actually tired of such AAA games where instead of providing a well thought out gameplay experience with features and content that can offer some real challenge, and satisfaction of actually enjoying the game with some real crime feel of the series, the only thing worth praising because of the technology more than any actual innovation or originality in terms of gameplay are just graphics, and impressive details.

The gameplay of V is horribly boring to other games on the market and even games released during GTA IVs time. All I wanted was an open world to blow the hell out of every GTA before instead it did things that completely baffled and even angered me.

I think the tacked on MMO bullsh*t hurt the potential of GTA Vs single-player the most. The game would have surely turned out better without ONLINE.

My general experience with "interacting" with peds: they say "hi" and walk away. Whoo! Or act like I'm dirt and walk away. I don't know, pressing a button and getting a canned response really stretches the idea of "interaction."

I am not sure whether you are totally serious or merely trolling. If the former is the case, I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

He's obviously trolling, considering the fact that you can do the whole 100% completion in SA in less than 50 hours without speed running through it.

SA took me 100 hours to complete! Dunno...maybe we played different games...LOL Anyway, Skyrim takes around 150 hours of time to complete without completing each and single side quest/task whatever (To complete 100% of Skyrim you need to spend minimum 300 hours!)...And here we talk about 30 hours like its a lot...LOL

On my old savegame on PS2 I have 92% with 42 hours, story completed, a few side missions left to do and I didn't speed run through it. There's speed runners that managed to finish SA's story in less than 10 hours and 100% in less than 20 hours, It took you so long because you probably did other things besides finishing the game, which you can do in every other GTA. I have 38% and 44 hours in V, 22 story missions done so I'm pretty sure I will have over 80 hours when I finish the storyline.

I think you need to play SA's story again, it takes you no more than 20-30 hours to finish it. 80 hours for storyline? Yeah, stop joking.

"but for an open world sandbox game?"

There are some open world games that are beatable in less than 10 hours. Heck, I've platinum'd Prototype 2 in less than 15, and that required me two playthroughs + collectibles.

GTAV took 100 hours from me in Single Player only, without counting those times I just played the game, played for the fun, and then exited without saving. If you count GTAO, you can add more 400 hours on it.

It's far from a short game.

^ So you're saying 69 missions will take more than 80 hours and you did 90+ missions in 44 hours?

Some V fanbois never change...

It happens. 69 larger missions will take longer than 90+ shorter missions.

You're right but that wasn't even my point. I keep doing other things besides playing the story, that's why it will take me probably 80 hours till I finished the last mission and that's probably why Itsjustme took 100 hours to complete SA. But Son of Zeus seems to have problems reading posts properly...

I'm not trying to say people are wrong saying that V didn't live up the hype, because even though I loved the game, it didn't live up to my personal hype, although it did grow on me after a while. It also has no "nostalgia" values like SA has to me, but anyways.

The thing is, main story compared to main story, I think V's is larger, but it doesn't have much to do besides it.

You say you didn't speed run SA's story and it took 44 hrs. That means you did other stuff too.

And 42 hrs to 38% V. Here also you are doing other stuff.

This exaggeration is funny. So V has a lot more stuff to do than SA has?

LoL

SmokesWithCigs

Nobody cares how miserable you are. Like all games that have online multiplayer the campaign mode will be short for the sake of memory space deal with it. GoldenEye Wii now that game had a short campaign.

SCOOBASTEEB

Hahahaha aw

There aren't many other (if any) games you can play in single player for so long after you've completed the main story.

You're moaning because you really like the game and are just sad that it doesn't go on forever, but instead you make it seem like the game is bad. It's ok bro
