GTA Online unuseable so far ..

I just spent $60 on GTA5 for online only, that is the only money I have to spend on games this month and GTAO worked like a charm last year before I burned out and stopped playing. I spent most of this day, trying to join lobbies ( 90% are empty ) when I get into a lobby and get an invite 80 to 90% of the time I get "connection to Rockstar cloud server lost" after a really long wait time- then it begrudgingly reloads story mode further adding to the rage whereupon I am hammering on the start button to make it reconnect to GTAO ( cuz I just did this same sh*t 66 times ) . I tried all day to just play some GTAO but all I did was connect and get dropped, connect and get dropped. I DON'T USE A ROUTER. Eithernet cable from my modem to my ps3. I have a 5megabit line and my pings show packet loss on the last few hops. I really don't want to play alone or be forced into story mode because of connectivity issues that were NEVER there before when I played last year. I read the article on connectivity issues and I will contact my ISP but I can't say how dissapointed I am in this outcome. I can't believe I just F*cking wasted 60 bucks on an awesome game that I can't play online.

Did you buy it for CG? On CG some lobbies are glitched where there will be no players except you. Try restarting your console.
