Favorite Developers?

Recommended Posts

Like the title, what are you favorite game devs?

Also, disclaimer, this doesn't include publishers. I know there are a lot of cool devs out there that are under some pretty slimy control of corrupt corporates, such as EA or Activision (edit: they're the corporates, not the devs. it sounded wrong without clarification).

Anyways, mine would be Obsidian, for Fallout: New Vegas, and FromSoftware for Dark Souls 2. Obsidian can create a killer world and RPG, while FromSoftware accels at gameplay and atmosphere building. The old InfinityWard before it's usurption during the making of Black Ops was also pretty good at writing stories along with gameplay. DICE also makes it on my list for their incredible technology and making their multiplayers unique (I'm talking about the BadCompany series specifically. Not the main Battlefield games).

Your developers?

If we really go with developers only, not caring about corporate entities behind them:

Rockstar North, Leeds, San Diego

Ubisoft Montreal (the AC team)

Volition

Rocksteady

Bethesda Game Studios

Kojima Productions

Warhorse Studios

Rockstar North for obvious reasons.

Bethesda for their immersive worlds and dedication to bringing their games to life.

Ubisoft Montreal for Far Cry 3 & 4. I avoided FPS gaming altogether, that was until I gave FC 3 a shot.

Rockstar, Bioware, The rest are varying degrees of poor.

That, just now, that really hurt.

Well we all know the big players, so Im going to give a shout out to a little guy

Tom Francis for Gun Point (2013), and Heat Signature (TBA). He really knows how to add little touches to give a quality experience and the dialog in Gun Point had me lol'ing for real.
