500/600€ Gaming PC?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys! Some days ago I was thinking that it is time for an upgrade. I have an ASUS notebook and it did it's job for 4 years at least, but now is time for something else. Since I am not in need of a laptop anymore, could you please help me to build a desktop pc with good performances, that could run some of the last games? ( I am not pretending miracles )

Thanks guys for any advice!

Ehmmm I don't have one ( lol ). Is Amazon good?

Amazon is okay, not always the cheapest option. I'll see what I can get together but I'd look around for some tech stores as PC Part Picker's price database for Italy is pretty limited. Google.it has the shopping tab :) I should be able to get something in knowing some slightly lower prices.

Not the easiest thing to pull off. Most parts have custom prices from sites that PC Part Picker doesn't list.

PCPartPicker part list: http://it.pcpartpicker.com/p/GKsZP6
Motherboard: MSI 970A-G43 ATX AM3+ Motherboard (€73.24 @ Amazon Italia)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (€59.90 @ Amazon Italia)
Case: BitFenix Comrade ATX Mid Tower Case (€47.68 @ Amazon Italia)
Power Supply: EVGA 600B 600W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply (€58.69 @ Amazon Italia)
Other: G.Skill Value RAM Black PCB 8GB 1600MHz CL11 (€67.66)
Other: Samsung SH-244DB/BEBE Masterizzatore DVD-RW (€14.69)
Other: AMD FX-6300 (€93.94)
Other: Sapphire Tech R9 280 OC (€181.31)
Total: €597.11

That build is assuming you can't go over 600. As you said 600 for the machine that's all I've bothered with, however, there are some upgrades that I'd recommend.
It's not that the MSI board is bad, based on the review scores it seems to be \a pretty decent board.
I'd also save up for a Hyper 212 Plus or Evo and overclock the CPU when you've installed it. I'd also save up for an SSD to use as the boot drive.

Personally I'd go for this mobo: http://it.pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-motherboard-m5a97evor20

Well this seems a pretty good build! What is the price if we add the things you said? I bet we are over 700€

Something like that. You don't need the 212 or an SSD straight away but if you can be a bit flexible with the budget I'd go for the Asus motherboard that I linked which would put the build at something like 607 EUR.
