Heist Van: What should I chose?

Recommended Posts

Only a low level peasant noob would use a van for a heist

High ranking Millionaire Vets will use these,,,,,

Suspect in

a) Common van

b) Al Capones Car

c) That f*cking massive Mercedes you wouldn't expect to see in the middle of the city

Like the massively overpowered AI POPO are gonna treat you different if your in a POS Van!

"1 Adam 12, 459, Maize bank, 4 suspects, assume they're escaping in High End vehicles, no need to check out POS Vans driven by noobs ....." :sarcasm:

Speedo Van Master Race.

If we are allowed to use PVs which is HIGHly unlikely.

My guess is, some of that money that the Heist Leader puts upfront goes towards "Supplies" for performing the Heist, one of which being a Vehicle and having a certain budget to stay within for the vehicle and/or modifications you can do.

Hopefully we can useful own PV vehicles though, I got some sweet 4Dr vehicles on the ready.

I actually think the Speedo and Burrito and probably others will become purchasable with modifications as part of the heist update. They are all unfinished vehicles, sort of modifiable, sort of storable etc. This is the way rockstar have always operated with this game, things are half finished until it's time for them to be fully done and when you see things like that in the game you know they have something to do with future updates. The vans definitely have had a plan all along.

Same with police cars, they wont be storable until cops and crooks.

Wow, I didn't expect all this when asking a question. I guess I should have posted this in another part of the forums and hoped for more serious answers.

No you shouldn't have made a thread based on an assumption!

I'm sure a "Heist Bike" Heist Dinka" or Heist Hearse" thread would have been met with equal disdain :facedesk:

Am I missing something, I dont think R* said you required a van to do the heist? Whats the obsession with van? From story mode?????

it's not required. but for me the reason for owning 6 is because they are fun cars to drive which have multiple features that i like.

-if you do it right you can stalk people while driving next to them without noticing.

-vans are high, which provides good cover in a firefight or mission.

-not to fast so if you want to make your getaway it's not just speeding off in a line.

-2 players can shoot out if the back with rifles

-drifts well.

i personally love them and there are A LOT of players who do too

another comment I don't get, how do you think driving a van, sedan, or any other POS is going to keep me from noticing you???

I'll see your white dot first and then the big Gamertag hanging over your head.

I won't notice what kind of car your driving until it's exploding :dontgetit:

Or this (or the one in the background):

But, I would probably choose this:

Except it only seats 2, which I found out last night in free-roam

You still have a huge Gamertag following you around!

Only 1 choice for a heist van:

This.

Speedo for life yo. I know there are faster vehicles but it'll be so awesome doing heists with vans.

It all depends on the driver to be honest. If it's a heist done in Blaine or Paleto Bay I guess you are going to need something fast but for all the Los Santos heists, you can just move through alleyways etc in the van.

Wraith of Vern

The thing I like about the Speedo is that is hardly even feels like a van to drive, the driving position is pretty low, it corners very well for its size and it is quite quick as well. It reminds me on the old Ford Transit vans, and since in the 1970s British Police reported that 95% of all robberies in which the criminals used a vehicle involved a Ford Transit, the Vapid Speedo is an obvious choice.

Pfft please, If we are allowed to use PV's I'll be using my Jester Racecar (Because Racecar)

Heists are 4 player, so you might want to think about your fellow criminals on that one.

You have to think of the advantages of the van over a 4-door car or an SUV. Generally speaking the Speedo when upgraded will match an SUV for performance, but you also have better cover from people shooting at you since you have the panels on the sides. Your 2 buddies in the back can also return for with heavy weapons like MGs and assault rifles to ensure that you make your escape successfully and as a group.

Depends on whether or not you want a true 'van', just something in the Vans class - the Bison's technically the best performer fully-upgraded (and has room for 6 - that's a full heist team and spare for passengers), but it's also not a proper 'van' (it's a pickup truck, in the Vans class for some odd reason).

The Youga is the best actual van in terms of fully-upgraded performance, but only carries 2 people - the Paradise is just behind it, and carries 4. Minivan's slower still, and is marginally more exposed, but it's still reasonably doable - everything else in the class is pretty stodgy after that.

Worth a look, for more info:

I dont get why you all looking for heist van. We all know that r* going to give us other vehicles to make the job

Not for everything - we've already got screenshots of player characters using personal vehicles, and, like with single-player, many of the sub-missions are basically 'drive to location X, steal equipment/vehicle Y' (for example, you've got to go to Grapeseed and steal a Vagos Velum for one, and in another, steal the armoured Kuruma). Odds are we'll just be using regular PVs to get to those objectives - once we've obtained the heist-specific vehicles, those become available planning board options for the final score.

Broughys van testing is not complete as he used stock vans for speedo rumpo and burrito when they can be modded (not entirely legitly but still)

A mixture of that and heister Hollywood films.

use an Ocelot Jackal /thread ;)

Second this. The Jackal is a grossly underrated street vehicle and performs like a dream. I myself used to ignore it before realising it was a glorious car.

The best option is probably a Speedo, because it is generic.Or a black sedan for speed but less protection.

To the people that say bring 2 door supercars and a 6x6 Mercedes. How are you supposed to be stealthy?Imagine seeing four Veneno parked out front of a bank.Turns out they belong to a bunch of soon to be robbers.

Fozzie, how would you compare the Burrito performance to the Speedo? I've been considering adding the Burrito to my garage but can't decide if it's actually work it when I have the Speedo to fill the same role.

I only have about 5-7 miles on each fully modded as they are, New.

The Burrito is a different beast then the Speedo. If you are a fan of Vans I would recommend it as it's a really fun drive, not as tight and fast as the Speedo or Paradise but respectable for its size. If you are a good driver it's doubly fun, it can powerslide easily at high speeds. I love the way I can whip it sideways around a corner and still come out of it without spinning out.

Plus, they look alot different and the Burrito has a nice different look to it. Also, as you can see the Burrito sits ALOT lower if you like that different look to your van.

I have 4 Vans, I couldn't choose a favourite because they are all great for their own reasons, looks and uses.

If you are a Van Admirer I'd suggest you look into the, Van Society crew if on PS3/PS4 for Van fun and SheVanigans.
