Quitters

World Champion

Recommended Posts

i would rather stay until the end than quit just because im losing...i dont even want to know what makes people think that works out in the long run...if you race solo you dont get the unlocks...if you lose this race you could still win the next and you dont have to waste time finding and populating a new lobby.

This ^

I think its one of those things you really can judge someone by! Those that quit races because they are losing, have zero aspiration, hence why you never see an Olympic level sprinter just quit because they not winning..

I only quit those races that only ONE racer(usually the guy who made the track) can win.

in those cases I used to jam the gas pedal button and slap a wrist band on the analog stick so my car would drive in circles while I went to make coffee, take a dump or do some other stuff, just to piss the winner off. Now I just quit them because it's just not worth the time...

Once 50% of the racers make it to the the finish the race ends due to count down for everyone else. You would get a DNF..

Just wondering.. If you do go take a dump and and you feel yourself not winning.. Do you quit half way through too?

For the record i have nearly 4000 losses. Mostly due to the fact that a few people in my race crew are stupid fast. So in this topic.... we just see a bunch of rage quitting bitches who can't take a loss but keep playing a competitive game mode anyways.

Which is funny considering most random races are filled with players who can't drive at all...even with catch up on. In public races i use the slowest cars i have and still win thanks to catch up.

So have fun rage quitting losers...lol

Excuse me but, you should read my post again.

I said usually ONE racer being able to finish the race, not half of the racers, I know about the count down timer.

About me taking a dump....You're very curious aren't you?

I wondered if you have ever raced one those sh*tty stunt races were you have to climb like 200 badly placed ramps to the top of the maze bank...Those are the ones I'm tallking about.

Races need a decent buy in to compete. Once you completed aka didn't quit you get that buy in and your prize money.

Quitting is such a cur way out. Id rather lose and stick it out. Maybe get even with a rammer. Maybe get lucky. As well more seat time means faster laps.

I don't have any reason to stay when I know I have no chance to win.

Payout for losing isn't worth my time, too.

Keyword: Time.

My time isn't to get sh*tty payout out of I-know-I'm-gonna-lose activity.

Keyword: Fun.

imo most people who quit are not very good at racing but cant handle that fact,so quit to preserve stats and their delusion.

Anything where you can't easily hit a check point by going straight at it... Is not race. Its an obstacle course or stunt track..

And if you don't wanna play it... Just leave then.. No need make it drag on because you don't like it..

I mean i get stuck in crappy races all the time.. Either because the host fails to give a good description of the race or starts it ASAP before i leave. But.. il give it a shot. Its its crap i'll leave. I could careless if i win or lose. But im not about spend 10 minutes trying to hit a check point. Nor will i waste my time trying to make the race last for ever to annoy everyone.

But to be honest you did not give a good description before... So sorry if it comes off a bit harsh. Some of the other replies tho are pretty funny.

Yes i absolutely HATE it when people quit in the middle of a game mode rather it be racing, DM, darts, tennis whatever, its like man the f*ck up and accept defeat.

Its a part of life, you win some, you lose some and losing in turn points out my flaws and how to get better whereas winning doesn't.

Dude.. its in the quote. And you didn't fully explain it till after.. While i agree leaving a race because its sh*t is not a bad choice. You claim you will go take a dump and make you controller drive your vehicle in circles to piss of the host?

Whats the point? Just leave dude.. :beerhat:

Ya ..this^.

Nothing wrong with losing.... Somone has to lose. People just need to be cool about it. I lose all the time... Im just in it for the the fun of racing.

When i see someone with 100 wins and 20 loses rage quit after the 1st few turns.. I just laugh.

These are same guys that kick me when i join a lobby. Sure.. they are over level 100, they keep all the low levels in the game. But kick me because im level 300 and have over 6000 races played. Even tho... CATCH UP is ON?

I don't know if any of you play golf in this game, but that game mode seems to have the highest rate of losing=quit early.

Every time I play golf with randoms, at least one will quit early.

Because its a game of patience and most lack it. I literally just played two full games last night with my friends and its hella fun once you figure it out.

I think it's the result of being a sucky and inexperienced racer. Unfortunately for them, those two things aren't going to change if they keep quitting. Anybody who races a lot in this game knows that plenty of wins are comebacks, especially when people are racing dirty.

I've raged quitted some races that were just unbelievably bad for whatever reason, like anything and everything would go wrong. Like for instance, when it's a public race and yu have 2 people who are friends slipstreaming each other to get/stay way ahead of everyone, yet, everyone else is way in the back crashing each other to death instead of slipstreaming to catch up to them. No point in being in a "race" like that.

To be honest.. Thats the best time to be in the back in public races with catch up and slip stream on.

The more people in front slip stream each other for 1st place, the more they all get slowed down thanks to catch up... And the faster the players in back catch up.

Everytime i get smashed off the road asap in public races i can't help but think... GO GO CATCH UP POWER!....

No. The kind of races I'm talking about, you're not going to catch up. Everyone is hitting YOU, while the people in the front use teamwork to take the win. No one in the back can catch up if they're all hitting each other nonstop. Catchup is irrelevant at that point and so is slipstream because no one is using it... except the duo in 1st and 2nd place.

Edit: Plus, catchup is not always on anyway. And the longer the track, the further ahead the guys in front will be getting away from everyone else.

I've never seen a public race with Catch up and Slip Stream on that does not give ample chances for people in back to make a last second come back. Which is even easier with multiple player in front swapping leads.

Getting hit is not really an issue..for me. . Defensive driving can cancel out people who do this fairly quickly.. I simply accept it as part of the game in public races.. And they sure as hell will not catch up if you blow past them, on your way to catch up to the players in front.

Getting smashed to the back in Catch UP Slip Stream races is usually a blessing. As much it sucks to get smashed.. The reality is.. thats where you really want to be. Because being in 1st you will simply get slowed down and watch as the racers catch up as you get close and closer to the end.

Losing the race gives way less money/reputation.

It also doesn't count towards unlocking parts if you lose, which is the only reason I can imagine myself actually playing Races.

do people still do races to unlock parts?

all you need is charles + ifruit and like 200k for the upgrades!

install the upgrades on any car without going through the win 50 races ordeal!

I have android 😪😞

I'll never quit a race once it starts, ever. That's why I have a 14.5 winning percentage. which BTW is double Dale Earnhardt's lifetime winning %. :panic:

And with R*'s "Ricky Bobby" race scoring system ("If you're not winnin' you.re losin'."), racing stats are total padded BS anyway.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the inherent value of learning track layouts by finishing races, which can make you a lot more competitive the next time.

personally, i don't care what people do in a race(as long as they don't think they are a big shot cause they have explosives, or cause their car has modifications and the rest of the lobby doesn't)

last night i raced some one in their own track(which you should know, had a spot in the beginning where htey would slow down so people ramn into them crash, and he could speed of alone in his carbonizer, the other 2 players had left the race i stayed and took the defeat, but to show his that his race is worthless, i raced them again, 98% of the race i was in the lead, the 2% was cause they slipstreamed but then crashed cause they didn't keep it slow while in the stream, and the times where i had accidentaly took him out, i waited for him,(even though thats more than what he deserved) and still took the lead, he left right after) memphis2222, or something like that on PSN

to me, id rather take the loss, to them later beat sense into people who do trap matches(unless their DM's, i just leave those before, or after they start now)

cause id rather ruin their day, by taking the loss, and then put sense into them, cause they hate losing, specially in their own match.

though i tend to stay away races with $/Rp in its name, and races that air time is 99.99% of the race(unless is 80% ground/20% the ramps to the into the next section, like the race at the docks that was verified i believe), but i prefer to have races like the MCEC(of course smaller scale since its with randoms), so i can improve, cause i know im average

Well.. To be honest the only time i win is when using slower cars in public racers against players in faster cars trying to ram me off the road the whole time.

When i want to lose.. I race with my crew.. My crew has some of the fastest racers in GTA O. They hold all the records.. they get lap times that are insane. No catch up is on.. no slip stream. One little wobble and im in last place. Thats the real competitive racing.

Public racing for me.. is just for fun... Knowing full well everyones trying to take my head off every chance they get is funny.. And knowing catch up will make me twice as fast afterwards is even funnier

To those who quit early:

Then don't race? Racing has the worst odds of winning/losing of any game mode in the game. That, and the time it takes to win a race to the amount paid for winning is far less than what you could make in a mission in almost half the time.

If you're not racing because you genuinely like racing, then you're doing it wrong. The money sucks. The odds of winning are the worst in the game. The upgrades can be obtained by iifruit or boosting.

Seriously, if you don't like racing, then you have absolutely zero reason to be racing. That you quit the minute you aren't first only serves to prove that point.

Honestly? It's a bit of low class thing to do, sure, but I'm guilty myself.

I'd never quit a race simply because I'm not winning, that's poor sportsmanship, but I WILL quit if people aren't doing anything but chronically ramming rather than an ACTUAL f*cking race or if it's complete and utter chaos. (Cars flying all over the place)

Furry_Monkey actually has a pretty comprehensive guide on how to do this here: http://gtaforums.com/topic/731939-ifruit-fiddler-unlock-all-ifruit-mods/.

You'll still have to pay for the upgrades in full (so turbo still costs 50k) but you'll be able to get them without having to unlock the mods through racing.

Start race. Get the lead. Catch-up kicks in. A player passes by and pits me. Sometimes I can prevent being pitted, and other times not. I catch back up to the lead. Gain lead. Catch-up kicks in. A player passes me by and pits me. I catch back up and pit the prick. I build a lead up with catch-up sucking the life out of my fun. A player passes me by and pits me. I start to drive off and catch-up. Another player drives by and smacks me for no apparent reason. I quit.

You compare my attitude to the above with a race where everyone is racing reasonably well and I am being beaten by better racers, you will not see me quit halfway through.

I play this game to have fun. If I am not having fun then why would I wish to continue?

I leave DMs and LTS missions, too. What part of 'spamming RPG camper' is fun for me?

I quit.

LOL... You people need to stay out of public races then. You clearly can't handle it. You allow yourself to lose focus to easily and rage. Public races are simply not for you if you can take the heat.

What did you expect with catch and slip stream on in public races? You don't think they leave catch up to allow people to catch up to them? They fully expect to smash everyone and come back every two seconds.

Host your own lobby.. Turn off the crutches... No one will ever catch up to you now unless they can actually race.. OR join a crew.

Crew mates slamming the field and forming roadblock and I may rage quit. If its a high lap race.

That never actually works...Yet i've seen it many times. Its just slowing you down which makes you faster as catch up kicks in. Once you get infront of the clowns playing dirty..the leader will be easy pickings thanks to catch up.

Take like this.. When someone plays dirty. The Ghost of Catch up Past comes to me and says..

"Excuse me.. mind if you hold up a second.. il make sure you go waay faster if you do.. And il slow down the leader too"

So just say.. OK.. thank you. :D
