Why do players quit races the minute they are behind? You may as well finish the race and get paid!

 

Are you a quitter and if so, why?

 

If you are not a quitter, do you care when somebody quits because you still get the win anyway, or does it feel like a hollow victory?

If you're going to win already, why does it matter? Taste more victory in making someone rage quit.

Losing the race gives way less money/reputation.

 

It also doesn't count towards unlocking parts if you lose, which is the only reason I can imagine myself actually playing Races.

Payout for losing isn't worth my time, too.

i would rather stay until the end than quit just because im losing...i dont even want to know what makes people think that works out in the long run...if you race solo you dont get the unlocks...if you lose this race you could still win the next and you dont have to waste time finding and populating a new lobby.

depends if i'm losing because of dirty racers then yes sometimes i'll quit,

and if i'm winning and people quit it bugs me as it reduces my prize

that happens so often and almost always at the first corner that i dont even get annoyed by it anymore...i prefer longer races (around 5-8mins) so theres plenty of time to outdrive those that have no conception of inertia.

What does make me want to quit is dirty racers but even then ill usually wait until the race is over then leave the next lobby.

I dont follow? people complain about catchup because its stupid and whoevers in first is slowed down, not that others are sped up...all backwards. Turn it off because people complain (and because if you thought about it for a second you may see why people complain) then people leave because they aren't very good, cant take a loss or have connection issues.

Theres no other reason except bein a bitch, son.

Not that I quit I mean I dont even play anything other than missions and free roam when I actually dust off the old box but this is the logic that has been around for years in online gaming. Save time and get in as much points as possible. Would you stay in a game of (*insert game your bad at) while I constantly smash you for 10 minutes? thats borderline masochism

you have a point, the community is geared to be only out to help themselves lol. I would probably stick around if we were at least able to talk to each other...i dont mind a challenge - its the only way to better yourself. Racing on GTA is a paradox anyway, the real racers want to race properly but the majority of people who race just do it for cash...not competition. Sad

If I'm losing by a huge margin, like, say, one whole lap, why the hell bother? I'm gonna get a DNF, and I'm sure you know that DNF has no payout.

If I'm rammed on purpose then I quit. If I am host, I always select non contact.

 

It's not like it's pro racing games where you get points/money penalties for hitting someone.

I see it's a Chrenporno, it's a garish facepaint in underwear, it's ramming me off the road, it cannot drive properly... So probably it will show some obscene taint at finish, which is meant so.

The amount of times I've pulled a 'tortoise and the hare' moment in a race even with catch up turned off is mind-blowing. It ain't over till it's over!

There's only really one defensible reason for quitting, when someone is deliberately trying to sabotage a mission like running off to Paleto Bay with the documents on Rooftop Rumble. As for being behind in a race......

install the upgrades on any car without going through the win 50 races ordeal!

The best part is when they don't realize it's non-contact and they go to ram you on purpose only to go right thur you and crash themselves

Yeah but you are spending $200-300K on parts and if you sell the car you don't get a good return on it if you sell it since the mods you put on it aren't recognized and you won't get any money back plus most folks don't wanna bother dealing with charles

And also, let's say, OP is the 1st place. He'd still be considered as winner of race match when competitor is disconnected.

 

So quitters won't affect winner in any way. It's a win-win condition for both party.

dont know from where youre getting your info but its wrong!

 

if you mod a car through charles, it would sell for 60% of the total value even if the upgrades are still "locked"...

 

i know, my second female character have a fully modded added that sell for 760k evenknow she have never run a race!

On the occasions that I do race, I only quit before it starts, when the players pick a stupid ass track.

 

I don't see why people complain about not having enough people to race, and then go around quitting. If that were the case, you should stick with the group as much as possible. Unless you don't mind constantly sitting thru matchmaking.

even when the m***er f***ing host makes a firstperson forced view along with traffic and police in a GTA race i rarely quit. or those ass**le rammers that keep driving dirty even when its obvious that nobody rams back. those things make me angry, but maybe u end up in the same freeroam session after the races. and maybe a few rockets can calm the situation for me. better than rage quitting.

Once 50% of the racers make it to the the finish the race ends due to count down for everyone else. You would get a DNF..

 

Just wondering.. If you do go take a dump and and you feel yourself not winning.. Do you quit half way through too?

 

 

For the record i have nearly 4000 losses. Mostly due to the fact that a few people in my race crew are stupid fast. So in this topic.... we just see a bunch of rage quitting bitches who can't take a loss but keep playing a competitive game mode anyways.

 

Which is funny considering most random races are filled with players who can't drive at all...even with catch up on. In public races i use the slowest cars i have and still win thanks to catch up.

 

So have fun rage quitting losers...lol

Well you'll be doing alot of jumping-into-races-then-quitting. If you aren't going to win and you quit, you will probably be spending some time waiting to return to a free mode session so why go through the bother? You won't always win races, and sometimes you might get lucky. I know people that have to go through a few checkpoints to win but they crash and I steal the number one spot

I won't ever quit after a race starts, just before if it's some jump race I don't like or if the host decided to put on GTA
