ZHPbim
I just bought a PS4 with the last of us "preloaded" and bought GTAV as well. The first few days I was only playing GTA and thought it looked a decent amount better than my old PS3 version. I finally played the last of us remastered fully expecting the graphics to be better (for some reason) and I honestly didn't find it to seem any better than a PS3 game other than the gorgeous cut scenes. GTA is remastered a lot better than the last of us. Under display change it to 30FPS and youll see the different in (The Last Of Us) Thanks. It looks a bit better but GTA IV still looks miles better. LOL remember when everyone was complaining about how bad the water looked in the preview next gen pics? The water looks incredible on the PS4. People should take their time to look at conparsions video I feel that they are partially blind. GTAV on PS4 is extremely beautiful but popins ruin the true experience of the beautiness (try messing around with your tv display settings and then see if you think IV looks better than TLOU) Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/769072-the-graphicsvisual-style-of-gta-v/page/2/#findComment-1067030368 Share on other sites

Krysalis
When I was playing the game, I had the same feeling others did with the graphics. It's in between pseudo-realism and realism. What most are saying is that the game looks "cartoony" due to how it's not exactly realistic looking but also not overly cartoony - like Borderlands. For more photorealistic graphics - take a look at Grand Theft Auto IV with overcast weather and the brown filter turned off and don't move. The game looks like you're looking outside your window. To put things into perspective - someone described Grand Theft Auto V as "The Best Game In Motion". When it comes to good graphics - haven't you noticed that it looks like real life yet looks cartoony as soon as it moves? It's the opposite with Grand Theft Auto V - the game looks excellent in motion with the lighting, reflections, level of detail - however it looks cartoony when you stop to take a glance. It's the same problem that has affected Metal Gear Solid V - Kojima noted on his Twitter that the photo realistic graphics are stunning when static - however as soon as Snake appears on screen it loses all of that effect. Some talented users on this forum have taken amazing pictures through Snapmatic - when there are no characters are present on screen. GTA 4 looks nothing realistic unless you use encehancer or some other ENB mob. Take a look at this: VS Now if you think this second video is more of real life like you need to visit a Psychiatrist. Now lets do this comperation http://bgr.com/2015/01/29/gta-5-in-real-life/ Please dont talk if you dont know what you're talking about. Problem with V on consoles is washed out saturation which is only present on PS4 from what i've seen. And we have this: The overall feel and atmosphere is exactly like in real life. When people say that 4 is more realistic i want to vomit And about characters look, console lack some of that tesselation and AO, and in 4 they look more duller. I cant wait for PC version, with better saturation and overall quality. I can bet many people over here are comparing last gen to real life. V looks nothing like cartoon. fwenshy
That ^^^ just makes me realise how bad the car physics are in GTAIV. The suspension is horrendous, it's like the cars on slinky springs. CarlitoDorito
The PS2 games are more like moving pastel paintings than cartoony, IV is the same as V, just darker. V just has the graphics upgrade, imagine IV with the brightness turned up and slightly more detail, that's it. Expect everything to look like a dark or bright version of toy story in the future, unless they're cell shaded or super cool with retro 16bit graphics. ddyoung
What amazes me the most is how much detail goes into the game itself. The cutscenes are great, even on LG, but there is still details everywhere when driving around randomly or looking in the forrest.
