Having fun with Bounties

Does anybody else on here sometimes just randomly assign Bounties out to others in the lobby just for the hell of it?

It's something I've started doing, especially in crowded areas just to watch the chaos unfold.

I did it to one guy & he then put a 9k one on me (I was cheap, I only put a 5k one on him). However I escaped into my Buzzard before anyone could get me & got myself a jet fighter. It's funny flying low & slow do highways in a Lazer everyone assumes you're in a car. Bad times for them when they meet my cannons.

I then did some missions & respawned in my apartment where I left my character while I ate my tea. It was funny to see all the randoms queuing up outside, in fact they started killing each other. When I did leave, I went off the radar, got my Buzzard & then got another Lazer.

Again I flew along roads killing players hoping to pursue me. I also quite like doing tactical landings on the LS beach or in the storm drains. Players come flooding over only to realise at the last second that I'm in a jet. I'm a pretty decent dogfighter so other players in jets aren't too much of a problem either. It was a good feeling to survive & get 9k.

 

What's your funny bounty stories? Whether it be when you've had one on you or when you've set them on others?

With my second character, I had a bounty when I loaded into a lobby. There was this blip waiting outside for me. I texted him a message trying to confirm their intentions...sure enough, they wanted my bounty.

 

I decided to do something different...I texted everyone in the lobby, asking them if they want to kill someone for me. I was a bit surprised on how many were willing to do so. The guy got killed about 20 times from about 5 different players before he left the lobby. It didn't help that I was teasing the guy with text messages inbetween (being an a-hole) with things like, "how's it going out there for you?", "look, I'm killing you without wasting a bullet. Like a boss."

 

He responded with, "I'll get you when you come out." But as mentioned, he left the lobby...those guys did not let up.

Ah, I never usually stay long enough in a public lobby to notice bounties. I just knew they changed the icons a few updates ago

If you're spending enough time in free-roam to evade a bounty, congratulations, you just "made" -$60,000

I grab a Jet when I have a bounty so they can't see the Jet icon on their minimap and I wipe the floor with the server until my time is up.

Whenever someone (a player/npc) puts a big bounty on me it's tank-time. It seems like other players never expect it when they rush to get to me. I can hear other players only right after I killed them or right after they killed me. When I kill them with the tank immediately after they just noticed I'm in a tank the reactions are great.

I got in a submarine and went down to 300 feet to wait out a bounty today. Had several come try to find me in helicopters. One finally figured out I was underwater, and started throwing grenades and stickies into the water. Lol. I think he used all of them and left.

Also yeah Accidental bounties happen alot, kind of annoying when someone leaves right as you're about to confirm and then boom bounty on the wrong guy lol.

My favorite is all the times that they fail at killing me for my bounty - i.e. 2 guys chasing me in their chrome supercar and I see them throw a grenade at me, so I e-brake and reverse (love the Voltic) and they somehow blew themselves up instead. I laughed all the way to my apt.

haha, I remember once chasing one in a sub, got a sub myself, placed a few stickies on it, took a while to catch up to that bastard, but boy was he surprised when I suicide killed both of us and got the bounty, so much for your sub haha

sometimes when theres a group of players battling on a area, i go to my buzzard with my bro, fly high out of the range of the homing launcher and start placing bounties on people watching the battle unfold from the missile camera view.

 

its all fun and games til some asshole decides to stop the fun by hiding with the bounty on the apartment.

Yesterday when I had a $1k bounty, I saw a Zentorno speeding up to me so I knew what was coming. I have absolutely had it with people cowardly blowing up my car instead of using guns in a fair fight, so I stepped out of my car. Honestly I was just going to let him shoot me to get rid of the bounty until he put a sticky on my car. The explosion blew me up when I was standing next to it, but didn't give him credit for the death and therefore he didn't get the bounty. I respawned next to a median I could hide behind, and killed him multiple times until he finally got me.

I don't like to hunt, but I like to be hunted. I typically try to run, but some times I'll hunker down and prepare for a battle. I'm typically in and out of missions and races, so I don't stay in free mode all the time. But when a bounty is on me, sometimes I enjoy the challenge of surviving the duration.

So...you wasted a decent amount of time to collect a small amount of money...there are missions and things you can do to actually MAKE money, you know

I love having a bounty on me and being a dick teasing them. There are a couple of times where I've just vacated to the top of buildings etc. where I've eventually been killed off someone in a jet. I just get rather pissed off with people approaching in passive so I join a mission lobby and leave back into free mode after 5mins because they'd have resided elsewhere.

 

But jets can suck my dick.

I very often spend a couple hours in free roam with friends, putting bounties on each other and having a blast running from the entire lobby (or whichever portion of it gives chase). Money-maker? Not hardly, it's a major money-loser. But it's some of the most fun you can have in this game.

Outlasting a bounty by hiding is a waste of TIME as well...congratulations, you're wasting your time while wasting your time...chasing a bounty is basically pointless if you spend any length of time on it
