Johnny Klebitz 2015: A Lost Scenario

Based on Drunken Cowboy's Johnny Klebitz 2015 thread I decided to share details of a story that I had in my head since before GTA V came out. This was the response.

Yes. Yes you can. Here you go.

 

Obviously this assumes the events involving Johnny in GTA V did not happen. Some say 'how can you see it as not happening when it clearly did?'. My response? Very easily. What happened was so ridiculous that it belonged in fan fiction and existed solely so Trevor would look like a bad ass to simple minded people. That makes it easier to ignore 'canon' events, especially because it had practically no bearing on the plot. Don't get me wrong, I accept what happened and I even adapted a certain pet theory off these events, better explaining Johnny's state of mind and giving it some sort of synergy with the moment with Trevor because Johnny too just saw a ghost, but it still feels like bad fan fiction to me. In any case...

 

Story

Several years after the burning of the Lost Clubhouse, Johnny, Terry, Clay and Angus have spent their years travelling the country going place to place, giving the finger to the man and generally going around the various Lost chapters around the country. One particular job has the three hired by 'Michelle' who unbeknownst to Johnny, Angus, Terry and Clay is working for The Contact and the IAA. The job involves the interception of United States Military supplies.

 

With Angus planning the details of the job the three are successful. Upon completion however Michael Klebitz is there to pay the four of them and reveal the true nature of the job. The fact that they did not intercept supplies going to the US military but rather a faction that has known connections to terrorists working within the United States. Corruption had simply reached a boiling point and with so many people getting away with so much in all areas of the government it is impossible to know who can be trusted and who can't. Action had to be taken.

 

Michael Klebitz fled from his post and the military after fearing they may have tried to kill him for knowing too much and met up with The Contact and from there Michael recommended his brother Johnny and upon seeing the record it was evident to The Contact that Klebitz was as capable if not more so than his brother and agreed to give The Lost members a test which was the job Michelle hired them to do.

 

Johnny is needless to say less than pleased with the truth being revealed until The Contact explains the truth of the situation and knows far more about Johnny than he realized, even diving deep into his past regarding Johnny's brief consideration of the military and corruption being the biggest reason that he didn't join and 'serve his country'. The Contact goes further to explain that he does not particularly care how he gets the job done, as long as it is done, and that he could have continued to have Michele/Karen front for him and get them to do his bidding for the money he was willing to pay and money that would be made from the jobs in question but chose to reveal himself as to establish trust.

 

Johnny agrees to help on a conditional basis, that the first whiff of bullsh*t he smells means that he is out and then will be out to get The Contact as well.

 

Gameplay

Obviously impossible to happen unless Rockstar decide to do retcons and/or alternate universes which I don't think anyone really wants to see. Or at least I don't, but I always think of stories like this in how they would play. The gameplay would have Johnny pick a crew for a job, the size depending on the job. Characters varying from some new, some old, much like the Jim 'DLC' idea.

 

Jobs won't only come from The Contact, possibly from crew members, Angus or other characters as well. However crew members sometimes they have their own agenda, especially in these turbulent times and terrorists do not wear a hat on their head that says 'terrorist' and those who have interest in derailing the Contacts operation may very well pose as competent and/or cost efficient crew members in order to gain Johnny's trust, so it can pay to look into a crew member, spend some time with them along with other things. Yes, going bowling has a game play advantage but is not necessary :).

 

Some of these Jobs will have a mission creep feature, where the player can choose to go for a bigger goal at the risk of compromising the original mission or possibly the interests of one of your crew members getting in the way causing them to turn against you for pursuing a certain objective.

 

That's it for now, I can't think of anything to add at this time but feel free to grill me DC or anyone else.

Awesome read there, Peachrocks. I too support a major Ret-Con in the story, and instead using your ideas in this thread. :)

 

p.s. it's 'Michelle' not "Michele" unless you have intentionally changed her name.

I made this story some months ago on The LOst theard, trying to make an initial MC plans to run out:

 

*Stubbs, returning the favor, claims that Billy is trying to pin the drug deal on Johnny and Angus, and hints that Johnny should eliminate him.* (**story from TLaD -mission Get Lost- end of the game ) The prison assault was perpetrated by 6 guys: Johnny, Terry, Clay, and 3 members more from the club. After the siege they cannot be unnoticed, even having destroyed the clubhouse. After 2 weeks trying to hiding, Johnny receives a call from congressman Thomas Stubbs, but there isnt a good news: The Federals (FIB) are behind them 6 and they will dismantle every last dirty rag before Johnny and the guys get out of its hole, even the FIB threaten their families to making deals, or they will treat them as complices.

Stubbs suggested to Johnny to leave the city, but he tells him that it will not be easy and that it will bring consequences. Johnny says to him that he was in Los Santos in 2004 with some members of the club, they know some contacts, and they also know the place, they just need a getaway method and protection for the families of the members involved in the assault. Stubbs will only offer Johnny this if he accept his terms. For Johnny, the only way to do something as a leader is to take the risk.

Few hours later, Johnny meets with Stubbs at Steinway Beer Garden (Packie McReary Bar). The congressman tells him the situation: ''A cargo ship called Octopus will sail from Alderney port tonight. It contains a valuable commodity in several containers. You and your guys owe me one, and this is going to be the payment.''...To be continued.

The Platypus was there, but in Alderney Port there was a boat called 'The Octopus'.

 

Which is in the game.
