[WIP|BETA|SA] GTA: Underground - Mod Discussion

dkluin

Recommended Posts

Why would dkluin waste his time porting a mod to a non-gaming platform? Phones are meant to be phones, not consoles.

I agree about it not need to be ported.

Phones are not meant to be just phones though. Example the Samsung Galaxy S7 are abit special made to handle games.

Is this possible to create gta underground for mobile?

You don't seem to be taking no for an answer. Let me tell you why it's impossible:

  1. To my knowledge, there's no way to edit the map in the mobile version of San Andreas. There are no videos of full scale maps, only of those who cheat their way to the incomplete version of Liberty City used in the mission Saint Mark's Bistro. There also doesn't appear to be any way to modify the executable, don't ask me how the CLEO guys figured out how to add their mods to it but on Underground it's a necessity, otherwise the game would simply refuse to load. Now let's say dkluin is the greatest genius who ever lived (he isn't far off) and somehow figured out a way to modify the application to support Underground.
  2. Most people who play San Andreas on mobile own a phone with 16GB of memory. Roughly a quarter of that is used for the operating system, with the full version of San Andreas should you choose not to sync it with your computer clocking in at another 4GB. That leaves you with 8GB left to play around with, a decent amount but quite a hefty one at that as the game is not optimized in the slightest.
  3. As it stands, GTA Underground is over 8GB, and work has barely started on connecting the landmasses together. Let's be stingy here and claim that the several squared kilometres of extra land is only 1GB. Then let's say that in order to get the game finished it needs another gigabyte of data to polish all the rough edges. That would mean Underground is over 10GB. On a 16GB phone, you'd only have 2GB left with nothing extra installed. Even those with phones that hold a larger memory capacity would complain about the sheer size of the thing, and chances are it would lag like crazy.
  4. R* hasn't cared about the PC versions of its older games for years now, however, a lot of early V modders were struck with cease & desists, and I would imagine they don't particularly like those who tweak with the mobile versions of their games. Should dkluin get a C&D, that's it; it's game over for all of us.
  5. Where's the audience for it? I would like to think most people who play the mobile versions of III/VC/SA are between the ages of 10 and 15 who never got the chance to play the original on the hardware it was designed for, and guess what? They don't care for mods. Very few do. All they'd ever want out of it are a couple of poorly converted Lamborghinis and Bugattis with the ability to fly like Superman. They would not care for a mod that brought the entire 3D Universe together. It would be a complete waste of valuable time.

Any idea, how to make it work for DYOM?I mean, like weapons and cars, because they do work...i tried to spawn them by car spawner, and it worked...but when i try to find them in, theyre not there, i tried to look trough dyom files as well, but from some strange reason, they're empty (at least scr file), there's one file called script, which is img, and have inside aaa file, with some NOP things...

About gxt file, i dont know how to open it, so maybe that code is inside?

Stop double posting, there's literally little to no need to post the same thing twice. Be patient and wait for an answer. As for the answer, I don't think Danny wants to make UG compatible with DYOM any time soon.

Let me make it clear.

There will not be a mobile version of GTA: UG.

Anyway, I came up with an idea regarding the car import feature in SA, which is pretty useless as every car you can pay several thousand dollars to import can be readily found for free on the streets of San Andreas, though I've no idea if it could actually work.

Instead of only being able to import the same old cars that are already in SA, why not make it so that you are able to import cars from other locales? You could put similar dockyards in Vice City that would be able to import San Andreas-only cars so no matter where you are, you can drive any car you want provided you can afford to pay for it. In my eyes this is a much better alternative than to take a car from where it originates and drive it all the way to where you want to keep it.

This actually makes me think of an idea: importing vehicles from other countries and continents (European vehicles for example). It's just a suggestion, but it's totally up to Danny.

Guys, i was looking for bugs in LC and i "discovered" something interesting.

http://imgur.com/a/cDfmj

The walls of this restaurant are without collision, so you can go inside.

If you go through that hollow inside of it, you will have access to the real gta "underground"

There, you will find many weird and interesting stuff, like mirrored textures and models, rests of many objects and see how it's the outside of the subway stations. You can even "fly" underwater.

Then, i had the idea of look what was happening on the tunnels.

I was able of drive above the tunnel just like a normal road. I also "discovered" that this "road" have 2 levels. The cars pass through those levels just like they are using ramps.

You can also go underground using that opening on the north of island.

I said "discovered" because someone probably discovered already, i just posted here for the people who don't saw yet. For these pics i used Amazing Screenshot mod.

That's just called "being under the map"

You can do that at several places, it's nothing new or even interesting.

You really should make police bikes for VCPD and LCPD... so that way they are more inline with SA in terms of features

VCPD police bike is no problem, the VCS model is already done.

@dkluin: I have also posted the list of my weapons in the old thread.

why when i turn the game after installing the mod it turns black screen

after i installed the mod when i start the game it turns black screen in the loading screen pleas help

I decided to post a link to tommorow's video. Keep in mind that it's private untill 11:00 AM GMT +2 tommorow, as usual.

It's a 10 minute long video which shows almost all levels, and the new ones aswell.
