The only downside this mod has is that will take years to finish it and to use it fully. A lot can change in a few years, too bad though.

There's simply no way to speed up the process, if you have too many people working on the mod, things could easily get out of hand and it might end up worse.

 

Remember that they aren't working a paid mod, they are doing all of this for free. You're already getting more than what you "paid for".

Not exactly, we have about 20 people who are working on UG.

 

Most of the time, they have other things to do, and without me, this project isn't going to last long. I noticed this when I took a break when I didn't want to deal with the spam. It was getting out of hand.

I know how to download it.

 

You might want WinRAR.

 

You might want to have nothing but GTA SA (no mods, trainers, tools, skins, etc.) installed, and have a PC that is verified as of working with this mod.

 

I use a Windows 10, and it works for example.

 

If it prompts you to replace, always click yes.

 

Step 1: Download Cleo (the one that says Download for SA '4.3.21')

 

Step 2: Run the setup, have it download to the GTA SA folder

 

Step 3: keep all the boxes checked, they are all strongly recommended

 

Step 4: Download a 1.0 executable (i use this one: http://www.gamemodding.net/en/gta-san-andreas/gta-sa-mods/45488-gta_saexe-10-us.html)

 

Step 5: THEN you download the mod. (will be called b1.0-SNAPSHOT_2_2 or whatever version you have).

 

Step 6: extract these folders using WinRAR inside of the snapshot you downloaded: TEXT, SOL, anim, audio, cleo, custom, data, models

 

Step 7: Extract all the individual files below the folder 'anim' to your GTA SA folder.

 

Step 8 (optional) : Go into optional mods, and click one, it will have a Content folder.

 

Step 9 (optional) : If you picked VC Hud Colors, extract the file to your GTA SA folder.

 

Step 10 (optional) : If you picked Fastman92's Car Spawner, extract everything to your cleo folder. The readme isnt correct.

 

You're done! If it crashes before you get past the loading screen, I can't help you anymore. Maybe you did not listen to my How-To correctly.

Extra Info:

 

The 'custom' folder is for installing mods. I'm not entirely sure how you're supposed to use this folder, but you don't only have to use this folder though. There are mods out there that you can have along with the Underground Mod. Install mods at your own risk, because you could have to re-install the entire mod.

 

If your game crashes while in the middle of the game (after your game loads) don't worry, it crashes at random moments for everyone except me.

The game doesn't crash with issues like that, unless:

 

A previous crash occured, and a memory patch didn't get injected, chance is higher to be from fastman92 limit adjuster, because of over 60.000 lines of patches are present, while UG only patches 5000 lines at most.

Somehow, you don't have the right Visual C++ Redistributable packages. This is also why people complain about the mod not working for them. fastman92 is not using the right compiler settings. (not using /MT)

I should add error messages for that.

However, the previous issue will crash your game at the beginning of the game loading sequence.

there are some balconies and rooftop objects in VC and LC that are not solid,

 

for example, some of these are in starfish island

 

most of stuff in LC/VC have wrong collisions beacuse climbing wasnt implemented yet

Try open *.img files in SOL\Cdimages folder, there has to be all the content.

Also if you want to change models for vehicles, you can try to use Modloader, but i'ma not sure if it is compatible with GTA:U.

Don't use IMG tool.

 

It's obvious that gta3.img is encrypted because otherwise people would then complain about their game being broken.

 

For that, you can use custom.img. It's unencrypted and can be used exactly like gta3.img.

One last thing: I'm trying to get the icon of the Colt Python, which I successfully found the txd file of and replaced the deagle's icon with it. The icon however didn't appear at all, only the number of bullets. I renamed both the .dff and the .txd files to desert_eagle.dff/txd and still. After some photo resizing and messing around, it DID appear in game but looked just like in the .txd file, which is a green'ish looking thing. If it's because it's encrypted then so be it, still a cool mod. :D

To be honest i had the same issue, i reinstalled the whole thing yesterday and now for unknown reasons it works.

I tried reinstalling everything, but unfortunately I'm not as lucky as you. However, this time I actually made it past the loading screen--it crashed when I reached the end of the loading bar when I started a new game.

Nice job guys, I'm really enjoying this mod. I got a question though. I'd like to replace a certain vehicle in the game via TXD Workshop but it just won't let me load gta3.img saying: "Integer overflow". I've tried launching it as an administrator but it didn't work. If anyone's got a clue how to solve this then let me know please.

gta3.img is not being used at all in Gta: UG the developer has extracted the files (.txd, .dff etc etc) and arranged them in separate order( in right sequence) in SOL folder so if you want to install custom mods perhaps vehicle mods you should extract the mods files(.txd, .dff) in the custom.img which is contain in custom folder, I have tried it it works a lot... If you have any further questions give a reply below at same post...

Modloader does not work for GTA: UG(because i think its main destination for replacing files is gta3.img, perhaps gta3.img is banned for GTA: UG) I tried it but game crashes its better to install custom mods manually... it works for me a lot!!!!

I've been working on a completely new feature you might have noticed in a few posts earlier:

 

Rideable LC trains

You will be able to buy a ticket and travel around in Liberty City using it's trains. The menu would be simillar to the airplane travelling menu, although the prices are mostly in a 50$ to 100$ range, the time will be advanced a bit aswell, but not as much as with the plane fight ticket system. After buying a ticket, the idea is to have a train spawn and switch the camera to cinematic mode, and allow the player to skip the train ride to the next station. When skipping, a cutscene will start where the player arrives at the station. Once the train has stopped, you are able to exit the train. However, you can also stay in the train. This is simply done by pressing the SPACE button, and will cost some extra money. If you pressed the SPACE button, a cutscene starts which shows that the train is leaving that station. At the end of this cutscene, the process of getting to the next station repeats.

 

If you don't press the SPACE button, the player will be placed on the station.

 

NOTE:

If the train has stopped, you can press the ENTER button to leave the train earlier.

That sounds interesting, but why not make it consistent with the SA train system? It would be much more realistic if you had to wait for it, then board it. I don't remember if you had to pay when you went in a passenger car, or if it let you skip. I do like the idea of the announcements though. The announcements were a nice touch in GTA IV. Shame they didn't make it into GTA V.

 

The only part of it that I do not like is the idea of using the ticket system similar to the air travel system. The reason is because that is not at all how ticket systems work on urban El trains/subway trains. I live in Chicago and have used the El many times, and based on how the train systems appear in other cities, I am almost certain that they are similar. In Chicago we have a thing called Ventra. You can ether buy a 2 hour pass at a kiosk, or get a credit card linked to your bank account that you swipe at the turn style. In the past, I believe it ran off some sort of punch card system though. Anyways, once you get past the turn style, you can get off where ever you want. You don't pay to go to a specific location like you do with air travel. You just simply pay to get on the train, then you get off when your stop comes up.

 

Your system would be realistic if we are dealing with a train that goes from one city to the other. The $50 to $100 price range would make sense too.

 

So, if you want a realistic subway/el train system, there shouldn't be any sort of menu. You just hop onto the train when it comes. It just keeps going around the track, stopping at each stop along the way. The player gets off when the train is stopped, and they press the button to exit the train. The player should pay only one price to get onto the train in the first place. You could have a different price to get onto the elevated tracks in Portland vs the underground subway though. I would say that you could charge the player when they walk through the turn stiles, but there are no turn styles (unless you want to add them). But if you don't add them, just charge the player when they board the train.

 

Regarding the $50 to $100 price range, that is still unrealistically high for a subway system. I understand that in GTA, $50 to $100 isn't very much after the first few missions. But if it cost $50 to $100, it would be unrealistic. It should just be $5 to board the train. If subways had that price range you suggest, they wouldn't sometimes smell like pee and have homeless people on them. However, trains that travel to different cities could have that price range, but not the LC subway.

 

Not to mention, if you had to pay for a ticket to go to a specific spot, there would have to be a train conductor on there to make people get off the train where they are supposed to. If that were the case, then this wouldn't be able to happen on subways.

Edit: An idea you could do is have the kiosk that has the same UI as the plane travel interface, however you buy tickets. You pay different prices for different time frames. So you could buy a ticket that lasts four in game hours, 12 in game hours, or 24 in game hours. When you buy it, you can board the trains during that time frame freely as they arrive at each station, just like in III, SA, LCS, IV, and V. If the player attempts to board a train without buying a ticket, you could ether not let them board the train, or have the train not leave the station, and if they stay in the train for too long as it sits there, they get a wanted level.

Alright. I just know that the way your doing it, you are trying to aim for realism. But I am trying to tell you that in American public transportation systems, you only pay to get onto the train. People can sit on the thing till their stop and get off. Their tickets don't hold a predetermined destination.

I guess I'll change my plan then. Would possibly ditch the menu altogether and make it a bit more like GTA:III's variant.
