Got a tiny suggestion for the airports: Maybe add an info pickup near every plane terminal in each city that will inform players about using E and Q in the ticket machine that allows them to purchase tickets to Vice City and Liberty City.

 

Also in my spare time i downloaded some VCS radio files and replaced them with the regular VC ones. Perhaps when i come back home in 2 weeks i'll do the same with LCS radio stations and then post them as a fan mod for GTA:U :)

 

EDIT: But then again i'm lazy so someone might beat me to it, oh well.

the Snapshot 2.2 will be Stand-Alone or will continue to be a GTA SA Mod(since i saw in a few comments ago that GTAU will be Standalone)

Of course this is going to just be a mod, having it be standalone would basically be piracy.

 

i'm talking more about having it's own executable,different folders(GTA Underground user Files?),etc...

Some fixes:

 

Fixed drive by help message not showing up when custom sub machine guns are used

that is a really good sign to me, if you are fixing little things like missing messages, that means the rest if UG must be pretty stable

Can you tell us why Atlantis and the Statue of Liberty were removed and if it's just a temporary removal?

I guess for more stability, since it's not finished yet and maybe it could be readded back to the game after some work on it.

Fixed my save game issue with silent patch and latest patches - however found some more issue while playing:

 

- Game sometimes crashes when entering a road vehicle at LC airport

 

- Game crashes when entering "Mainland liberty" by air (and plays the crash music)

 

- LC Radio Stations consistently overlap with the user tracks station (i.e. the 2 stations play over each other), also there is only one direction to browse through the LC radio stations whereas SA has the two directions

 

- Hitboxes for LC gangs need a bit of refining, sometimes when I shoot directly at them the bullets look like they're hitting a wall and the gangs don't take damage

 

-There is a missing patch of water on the north-western point of Portland in LC

 

-Often times after entering an interior, the names of radio stations cease to show when browsing stations in vehicles

2. Not sure about this one, but all garages like this are only LODs in the shoreside vale.http://imgur.com/0mmoJXr

These garages are very odd because in GTA 3 they have LOD assigned into the normal model. I only noticed that on them.

Still no reply, so no update today.

 

Without a response from the UGMP developer I cannot release anything. It may take a few more days.

 

But in the meantime, progress is still being made, for example some more script related issues.

 

--------------

 

Some stuff to expect in future releases:

 

-Original Vice City races possibly with some custom ones to give people something new

-LC checkpoint races

-Stadium events in Liberty City

-More Liberty City safehouses

-A much better Bullworth which is alot more stable

-A solid VC seabed

-All rooftops being fixed (a bunch of them are done already)

-Beach parties in Vice City

-Lowrider contests in Vice City and Liberty City (will make it so the Cubans will host lowrider events, and they would most likely use the lowriders we currently have in the mod), and for Liberty City it would most likely be the Diablos.

-The promised Slash TV side mission

-Re-introduced Atlantis (yes, I am going to re-introduce it at a later time)

-UGMP (uncertain)

-Support for ModLoader (if the time is right)

-Allow users to add their own radio stations to GTA: Underground much easier without me having to edit the script. (Also, uncertain)

-Built-in downgrader if needed (highly uncertain)

Hey dkluin. I have a question regarding the UG versions compatibility when it comes to other mods.

 

Specifically, Design your own mission mod works normally with this 2.1+patch 9 version. However, due to numerous changes that will take place in Snapshot 2.2, if I design a mission in UG 2.1, will I be able to run it with 2.2? Will newer versions of UG be compatible with older versions?

It all depends.

 

The San Andreas vehicles/peds/weapon IDs are untouched so they should always work. However, added car IDs, ped IDs, and weapon IDs are not always going to work. It will both depend on how GTA: UG IDs change and if your mission depends on an old ID which would work on older versions, but won't on newer ones.

Well DYOM lets me choose only the peds/cars/weapons that are available in the original game. I can't choose new added cars/peds/weapons you guys put into the game anyway (VC peds, LC interiors etc). But as long as you don't remove any original GTA SA parts (cars, weapons etc.) missions made on older version of UG should basically work on every new version right?

Technically, it should. If you happen to spawn any objects from VC (if that is even possible with DYOM) theres a slight chance that their IDs might change over time.

I was just worried that maybe you're changing something in the core of GTA SA and that maybe it should present a problem. But, since you're not replacing or removing anything, it's good news. Why spend all that time trying to implement every single ped ID while you can easily just make it scan the pools instead?

Dkluin, you are using SCM script to make a storyline vesion and a free-roam version.

 

But is it possible to make the original SCM file untouched and make a script(cleo/asi) to choose between versions. A time ago there was a C++ script SCM hook. Can you make it or something like that with your skill?

It is possible, but difficult. I am unable to add a warning message before the main menu shows up (ingame message) which will tell the user to downgrade the game if needed.

 

I spoke with the ugmp developer, UGMP is dead, obviously, and a release is coming. I just need to get rid of a few things and revert back to Underground_Core.asi.

Why not just replace one of the splash screens with Eax or Nvidia to warn players. Simple but effective right
