Alright, current specs: WIndows 8.1 64bit edition. GTX960 4GB with AMD 8 core processor 3.4 and 24 GB of RAM,

 

I own the Steam version of the game, and it runs just fine. I made a copy of my GTA SA game and plugged the Underground mod files into it, including the latest patch. When I run the game, I see the Underground wallpapers etc, but when I start a new game, the game crashes.

 

I have tried changing compatibility settings, changed CPU affinity to single CPU, deleted the .set file MULTIPLE times. I've gone through so many help videos on YouTube and none of them are geared towards troubleshooting GTA Underground. I'm at a loss here

If you actually bothered to read my posts, you'd realize I said 'Sorry if I post alot, its because i reply to people's posts as i SCROLL DOWN.

 

I reply so much because I dont spend my time constantly refreshing the page waiting for someone to post something,

 

And I start scrolling down and replying from the last page I commented on.

 

Also, I do not want people to say tl;dr because my posts were too long, and tell me i have really long posts.

1: If he didn't answer your question the first time, I really think you shouldn't ask him 2 more times, there is a good reason why he didn't.

3: Your whole post is about your opinion about dkluin. If hes so stupid, how did he get a team to make this mod? How does he reply to your comments?

Try to re-register with another mail (ie GMail.) Noticed most of the time mails takes a sh*tload of time to arrive when using Hotmail, and i won't even mention Yahoo's incredible speed. (/sarcasm off.)

 

@Danny: Ever thought about making a separate forum for the mod? Could help with keeping this thread a bit calm, and atleast posts could be moderated instantly. Also the bug tracker could be also included there since people can't seem to understand how the current one works (not that hard but whatever.)

You can bet your money Snapshot 3 won't come out for another 6 months or probably more, so my question is, why are you all losing your sh*t now? But wait, I know where the sh*t losing comes from, specifically who caused it, so the rest of the post is directed towards developers here and some who feel like their advocates.

 

The reason why these kids lose their sh*t here is because of none other than developers. I warned you about it, but you constantly keep dismissing it. Reason why these kids lose their sh*t here and give you unimaginable, ridiculous requests is because you post your progress, whether it's photos, streams or changelog. They all see what you're doing and then want in on it, they want fixes of previous versions right away etc. I said several times you need to cut the teasing kid stuff, ridiculous marketing which you don't need and work until you're finished, then stream a video and post a couple of photos maybe 2 or 3 days before the release. What you're doing here is making these kids hungry for anything and everything because you like teasing them, cause that's all you're doing.

 

Problematic thing is that you stream videos and post photos and progress walkthroughs months before even finishing it.

So, two questions. One, when did I say they should post nothing? Two, so by your logic, posting photos, a full changelog and streaming videos is the only way to let people know you're doing something? In no way, shape or form a simple sentence here and there saying ''We're working on the mod, everything is going as planned, stay patient'' isn't eligible for letting people know you're working on a mod? Wow.

 

But, you can be that ignorant and blame the kids for not reading the topic. It's easy pointing fingers at others. Developers brought this mess on themselves, not the kids. The kids are being kids, most of them spoiled as today's society is, but still kids. So, no, your argument is invalid. I'm still waiting for my answers though - why are these kids losing their sh*t 6+ months too early though? And why don't you just restrict the updates to words and not concrete photos, streams and progress reports?

1. Kids should nog play games made for 18+ people. Imo 15-16 is okay but being 12 and playing games like GTA ain't good

 

2. Saying you're working on it without any proof or what you are doing won't make people motivated to download your mod or try it. Without pictures I would not follow this topic anymore simply because I want to know what is happening. If it's not to my likings, I won't take time to read and follow the forums.

 

But it's just my opinion like we have opinion, we should not have these discussions too much because it will flood the topic.

10 patches and a 2.1 version released so far are motivation enough and proof enough of a working group. People who work in movie production keep quiet for months before movies hit theaters and still get a ton of people showing up because of the trailers they released months ago. If you show people it's good once, they will come back once it's time.

 

You're just teasing them. Showing them photos is equal as showing them nothing because they can't touch it either way, they have no use for it, it just creates hype for literally nothing as you don't release anything for months after you show progress, that's the problem. I just showed you a solution how to keep them quiet. You can't want both. You can't organize a public protest against a presidential candidate or against religion and then whine about having to confront tons of people who get in your face because of it. It's the same thing you're doing here. Either don't whine about kids being kids because of developers' actions or whine, but actually release patches more often so they would actually have something to play and not waste time typing in this topic. If you want to talk about people being motivated to try something, you give them something, so releasing more patches more often would be a way to go, not showing them photos of a mod which they can't enjoy.

Since this spam is most likely never going to end, I'll have to try and start to work on the mod again. This means, that I can try to release a 10th patch and possibly focus on Snapshot 3 at the same time. It wouldn't be bug fixing anymore as there's not much left to fix.

 

I've also cleaned up the bug tracker below, plus I asked some people to manage it. And yes, making me able to moderate the topic should do the trick, actually.

No, it doesn't becuase along with that you have terrible and obnoxious spacing and font size in each of your posts to make them way longer then they need to be, and also how that reasoning doesn't even consider the fact that there's an edit button so as you scroll down you can add to that post later. The topic is already a sh*thole of spam and the last thing we need are double-triple posts.

Also, good on the staff for not making a sub-forum for this mod, I feel like that would hurt it more than help it. (See what I did there? I diddn't use quadruple spacing and put my replies in one post!)
