I thought I had made it clear in the past I only cared about the sa storyline before in this mod and no a wont play it without the mod, I played the sa storyline back when it came out in 2004 without the mod and have played it numerous times since

 

@dkluin what do you mean people don't appreciate what you do... I think you'll find everyone does but is it too much to ask if your going to edit a game that it alteast works, when I get things or buy things or whatever I get them thinking "this may not work" otherwise I wouldn't bother with it In the first place... Look think what you like dkluin about people not appreiciating or whatever but people are well within their right to make you aware of bugs, that's what the crash logs are for.

 

Tell you all what, people who don't want crashes don't bother playing, if you tell the "Developer" about it, you'll get complained at.

 

This annoyed me tbh. if you can't handle the pressure of modding someone elses game (Rockstars) then don't, just my opinion.

 

@Ghost38 there is also something called manners which I have noticed dkluin doesn't have any of, he doesn't atleast sorry for the bug if he can't help you just get attitude, I'm sure I'm not the only one who has noticed this, I get it there are people who have never said thank you but I have lots of times personally and sometimes, I think the people thanking him and the team is not appreicitaed for saying thanks to them sometimes.

If you see my comments you will see i said lots of times "you and your team are doing a great job" and it's very hard to make a mod like this one, and i think keep working in the mod it's his "sorry"

Limit adjuster doesn't have errors (except for the new weapon limits maybe).

I'm not sure that was baby-ish, sounded like the right course of action for him in that situation, he handled himself with dignity and calm, yes I think we've all accepted there'll be bugs but I mean, the least the people making the mod can do is either help or apologise if they can't help, I think the people following this mod and downloading are a bit under appreciated as well, I'm sure the developers would feel a lot worse if this forum was a barren one and no one following it.

 

I mean if people are going to make something; I agree with their own time and effort and release it with bugs do people not have a right to ask why and if it can be fixed?

 

@Ghost38 if you read my post properly, you may see I'm not calling into question you saying thank you, I'm questioning other peoples manners dkluins or lack of and I'm asking the question why would you not report bugs if there are bugs and if people are going to invest time of their life into playing or using something, why should they put up with the bugs but I think you may want to re-read

After hearing all of this sh*t about bug reporting I don't see how it can be so complicated. Send logs, how long you think you were playing and what you were doing, it shouldn't be that hard. I'm pretty sure dkluin has more important things to worry about than running around trying to figure out whats causing these RANDOM crashes! This is in alpha people, you have to expect stuff like this. If you want to report bugs, report them with detail.

my game crashes when spawning the big truck in the first page of car spawner (above the first admiral) i can't tell you the vehicle's name, from sabre turbo to that vehicle are unnamed in the list, the game crashes when i press enter to spawn it, if i don't press enter the game won't crash, this isn't happening with other vehicles (i'm using patch 5) i would send you the crash log but i can't find it, you said "root folder" but i can't find that folder, my computer is in spanish :p

​Edit: forget it, after 5 crashes i was able to spawn it, never crashed again and everything works fine, thanks anyway :D

Crash logs are in the same folder as gta_sa.exe, and they're called fastman92limitadjuster.log or something similar.

I agree with you, not too difficult to put some detail in, or atleast send a crash log but sometimes even when people do dkluin will either say nothing or he won't help. I appreciate the fact sometimes there's nothing he can do, like I have sort of bugs where new changes don't take effect I told him but he just doesn't want to help I don't think sometimes.

 

So it is about balance, I think, if your reporting bugs atleast help dkluin by being descriptive but at the same time he could help by not deploying that increasingly famous awkward attitude and people won't get pissed with him?

I'm sure we all appreciate the fact that this is in Alpha but if your releasing something to the greater public in an alpha stage, do you not open yourself upto bug reporting? I agree some people just fail to explain properly and/or don't send their crash log at all but if your complaining about the bug reporting because this mod is in alpha stages, would it be best nothing else was released until it is fully finished?

 

It's not about complaining about bug reporting in general, it's about people not giving enough information. Especially with a total conversion mod there are a lot of variables when a game crashes, and it's amazing how many people on this thread don't know this, I think that is what he is trying to say. Bug reporting is fine, but give detail when you're doing it!

 

Anyways, lets put this topic to rest, I think everyone has had enough. If they don't understand by now, that's too bad.

@dkluin Sorry if I'm a bit late but I really wanna say this. Dude, I know you talked about people not appreciating your mod, saying they only want to satisfy themselves by letting you fix their bugs, and spamming stuff. But it isn't true. Danny I'm really sorry for being a whiny b!tch, cuz I know I'm one of the people you're talking about. I really really admire your work with this mod, and you made every GTA players' dreams come true. About the people spamming you, it isn't that they dont appreciate your mod, it's that they want more. They (and I, tbh) expect too much of you and they're disappointed cuz sometimes you cant help them fix the bugs, etc. Don't think that we don't admire your work, think that there are many people supporting you. I really hope you continue working on this and don't quit. So this is my message for now, currently downloading patch 5 and so far your mod is excellent. Ok, so for now bye.

Its simple. My lack of ASM x86 debugging knowledge is what also prevents me from helping precisely. I need more information on when crash happend, what did you do, were you using a savegame, where on the map did it happen, did you do anything specific before the game crashes...

 

That stuff. I'm not perfect, which is why most of the time I have to ask fastman92 about crash logs. I only know the reason of like 6-8 crash logs, some random crashes people report have to be debugged by him since like most of the time its his limit adjuster containing an error, something not patched, and in other cases I overlooked somsomething and crash would be fixed without him.

 

Why else would I ask you to provide more info? I can make simple patches, yes, but debugging? No.

IDA Pro is often needed, because it's required to know what function called the function where the code has crashed and have access to data in memory. Stack view is very important.

 

Limit adjuster DOES have plenty of errors. You refused to accept it and you are not interested in fixing these neither.

 

People reported your limit adjuster crashes sometimes too you know....

 

-Opcode not patched properly causing firetruck side mission to stop working (fixed)

-Random crash when the game picks a zone (not fixed)

-Hydra guns dont work on added hydras

-Path limits are certain to have atleast a few more crashes/errors related to the patches.

Theres no city called Capital City added within the mod.

This map is for Beta 2.0. Beta 1.0 isnt even released yet, these snapshots are just early versions of beta 1.0.

Ok, but Manhunt level has been converted ? I had found it , but I can no longer regained manhunt level (the level with train yards and metro)

Which Manhunt level? I did a few of them and I will certainly implement them all.

 

Fixed issues:

 

-Some vehicles had a too long GXT name (so they appeared first inside the car spawner)

-VCN Maverick wasn't working

yes I agree, I did aknowledge the fact people tend not to give enough info' with these bugs, probably me included sometimes tbh but nvm like you said I think we've all heard enough of this now and is time to let it rest. :)

 

@dkluin where ghost town was in gta 3 was that not where carcer city was meant to be as on lips 106 the radio host say "In Nearby Carcer City" leading me to believe it is not only close you could drive there in couple of minutes

Nope it wasn't. I guess it was south west of LC.

 

For now I am going to fix the LC lift bridge cars driving like crazy. They glitch out for some reason as you all saw.

 

Cars do stop properly infront of the bridge now though.

-Working on LC traffic. It has a few more fixed points where cars turn around, tunnels now have working nodes, and more.

-LC tunnels will be fixed, they will no longer be fixed and they will have working traffic

 

Also, I actually want to thank the person who made the map of traffic issues, it's really useful.

If you have bug reports, post them here, regardless of if its posted on the forums, I need all bugs on the bug tracker. If it's already there, then dont post it.

If you found issues with traffic in Liberty City except those found already, tell me. I am fixing it even more.

The patch 5 is great, the new cars are beautiful. I don't know if it is an issue, but there are a lot of traffic in LC and VC airports, for me, it is very difficult to put the plane on the right track because of these cars.

75% of Liberty City now has cars working traffic lights (cars stop infront of them), I did the whole Shoreside Vale area, and the Staunton Island area. I have to finish Portland and then the traffic for LC will just require finished direction traffic and it will be completed.

Hey dkluin, wanted to say happy belated Birthday! Sorry I didn't reply sooner. And thanks for patch 5, it's a lot more stable now. :)

 

I was wondering if you were able to resolve the radio issue when in San Andreas, where if you load a saved game the radio station names no longer appear? Seems to only happen in SA, as LC and VC work fine.

They should work honestly. Maybe there is an issue, you could add it to the tracker.
