Q: So ,well, how do I install GTA: Underground again?
A: 1) If your game version is not 1.0 (i.e. Steam version), downgrade it first (NOTE: do NOT install ANY optional mods that come with the downgrader!). Get the downgrader here.
2) Hoodlum 1.0 crack is REQUIRED! (click)
3) As of now, the installation order is as simple as just unpacking the standalone 3.3.9. Please note that "standalone" means that you don't have to download the previous versions of UG; you still need the base game. Extract the archive into your game folder. Do note that if you're upgrading from an older version, the order is 3.0 -> 3.3 -> 3.3.9
 
Q: My game is not working!
A: Make sure that you have done all the steps described above. If you see a "GetProjectVersion failed to import" message, then you have installed a snapshot without installing another snapshot that is a requirement (for example, if you installed 3.3 without installing 3.0 first) If the game crashes, make sure that there are no incompatible mods installed.
MODLOADER IS NOT COMPATIBLE AS OF 3.3.9
The full list of (in)compatible mods is here. The pedspawner can also cause crashes because some peds aren't properly implemented or their model is glitched, due to that, sometimes the spawner fails to find and load the ped. Using save files from an incompatible version and having DEP not set to essential Windows programs only also lead to crashes. If the game is still not working, use the #support channel in our Discord.
 
Q: How do I use ped/car/weapon spawners?
A: Type "skinselector", "carspawner" or "weaponspawner" as a cheat.
 
Q: Why can't I buy assets in Vice City and why can't I buy Diaz's mansion?
A: You need to take over all of Starfish Island to unlock Diaz's mansion. Once it's purchased, you will be able to purchase business assets in Vice City.
 
Q: How do I teleport to marker?
A: X+Y
 
Q: Will you bring back the original San Andreas storyline?
A: Not in the foreseeable future.
 
Q: Why don't you add HD era Liberty City/Los Santos?
A: no
 
Q: Is UGMP out yet?
A: No.
 
Q: When UGMP?

A: Soon.

 
Q: It is possible to travel to LC/VC by airplane?
A: Yes! When buying tickets, scroll the mouse wheel to switch between San Andreas cities and Vice City/Liberty City.
 
Q: How to install car/player/etc. mods?
A: Just drop the files to custom/custom_mods.img
 
Q: A mod is not listed in the compatible mods topic, should ask if it is compatible?
A: Before asking, try installing it yourself. If the mod overwrites some files, make a backup. If it works, report it as compatible in #discussion (Discord) or in this topic. If it's not, remove it.
 
Q: Can I play as Tommy/Claude?
A: Rename "player_name.img" to "player.img" and don't forget to make a backup. Do note that standalone downloads don't contain these files anymore. You can get them there: clicky boy

 

Q: How do I activate The Hero's debug menu (the one in "optional mods" folder)?

A: CTRL+M

 

Q: How do I remove the blue fog on the map?

A: Type "iveseenitall" as a cheat.

 

Q: I want to use the VCS/LCS weathers from now on, how can I make it happen?

A: To turn on the new postfx, you need to install The_Hero's debug menu. 3.3.9 also includes an updated version. Press CTRL + M for the debug menu. You can either turn on 'Use Stories weather' under 'Time & Weather' and visit Vice City or Liberty City (and watch as the in-game atmosphere changes over a few in-game hours) or change the in-game weather to any of the '*_MIAMI_2' weather types (where the wildcard stands for EXTRASUNNY, CLOUDY, FOGGY, etc.) Stories weathers have blurring/radiosity by turning on the Trails option in the settings menu. It's recommended to get the expected look.

Thanks, its not finished by far, I need to add empire building locations, icons, and much much more. There must be gang AI wars, and the roaming gangs are just the beginning. The script has to spawn menus, the player must be able to set up heists, co-operations, drug deals, and you can hire a bodyguard. It'll be charged every IG hour, and will protect the player. I'd like to do more then just empire building, for example, kidnapping, escorting, and more. You would be able to prevent a wave of business takeovers, by kidnapping an enemy gang member for information, and you could be able to prevent an enemy attack.

Endless possiblities.

It'll be like VCS: Empire Building, but with different versions per city region. For example, you can do gang turf wars in LS, and set up business in SF, LV, LC and VC. Haitians and Cubans could have scripted gang wars, which you can intercept, and help 1 gang out. If the player does so, the gang like will go up, more and more. Later you could start drug deals with them. Anyways, other ways to earn money could be:

Street racing, motor stunting, and many other side missions, like: Help criminals escape and act as their getaway driver. Be able to plan heists like in GTA:V and buy cars at shops around the map.

More and more ideas can be realised. Now, if only we had a scripter to code these ideas in, besides myself, as I'm not the best at scripting.

VCPD police bike is no problem, the VCS model is already done.

You're going to work with Jinx, he's also working on weapons. It's not good to have two people doing the same weapons seperately. You're getting someone to work with.

I didnt inform you about HazzardX (Now //XP//) being the secondairy project leader.

He decides about the Storyline, so he decides what has to be done.

 

I'll inform you by PM.

Progress update:

We have added new things!

We added VC weapon pickups, parked cars, and hospital/police stations.

We added the same stuff for SA, we managed to add SA stunt jumps, hospitals/police stations, bribes, oysters, and other stuff. Also, main.scm will spawn the player in Grove Street. A Hydra also spawns on top of Sweets house. This makes it possible to fly to VC without cheats.

Ped/gang zones for SA. It's possible to find Ballas, Grove Street, and other gangs roaming the streets.

 

But, we have more!

VC and III gangs will be converted by Mario.

We will have custom ones, but, we cannot do R* styled cutscenes.

We will try to import them, we're waiting on fastman92 to complete his path merger tool. We also made progress on LC:

 

Stauton Island converted - All TXDs, COLs, DFFs, IDE/IPLs are now in SA format.

Only issue: Generics around LC matching names with SA. We will get around this.

 

Its one of JJ's (Jingles) mistakes. He forgot about a duplicate checker.
