Kill Frenzy!
Am I the only one that when playing The Lost and Damned it looks grey and dark comparing when playing as Luis in Gay Tony, when play as Luis it looked more colorful, better weather, similar to Los Santos or is it just because he's Hispanic? lol I doubt that. I've never knew why? or am I the only one that sees this? Edited February 23, 2015 by KillinFr3nzy NL
LightningLord
Yeah, TLAD looked like it had a darker vibe to it. TBoGT is more colorful and such. Both fit respectively. D3ADSH0T
Chad Warden
TLAD has a filter over it that makes it grainy. Some people hate it but I love it. D3ADSH0T
PhillBellic
They do have very different vibes that enhance the respective games.

TheMostKnowledgable
There is the film grain effect, designed to mimic that seen in Sons of Anarchy (basically the theme of the whole expansion - PS, how did Rockstar know in 2008/2009 that the clubhouse would go down in SoA among other later plot developments in that show? whoa! Did the copycat get copied by the copied creator?) That effect can be disabled under "display" options. If you're playing sub-1080p, it doesn't look really good and seems more like compression artifacts than film grain, but at 1080p or higher it looks pretty good. I still prefer it disabled, with post (p key) enabled (post effects always enabled on console, can only change the film grain on or off there). There is also the "yellow filter", color correction, for the game to give it its own personality, same way IV was desaturated and dark, while TLaD was color corrected like Sons of Anarchy scenes, and TBoGT I think they just tweaked it and cleared it up based on complaints people had and boosted the colors some for the vibrance of the title. I think you can use the visualsettings.dat and timecycle files from TBOGT in IV and TLaD, but I'm not sure if it required changes. Simply copy or rename the files and replace them and see if it works, if not, just switch them back, at least if it does work it saved looking for solutions if you'd like to change it. Korpi
They both had their own fitting atmospheres. Personally though, i'm pro-TLAD; not a fan of TBOGT. Edited February 23, 2015 by Mar.K
TheMostKnowledgable
I like the look of Lost as well. Maybe there's one or two weather conditions that are really blown out orange/yellow, but for the most part, it looks nice. Ballad seems to be really fresh after playing Lost, but it wears off fast and actually they minimalized the motionblur/dof/Pkey/Post Effects/Definition:off(LOL just disables effects when ON, nothing more!) so much that it lost the cinematic/filmic feel unless you're traveling pretty quickly. IV, thought too desaturated and blue sometimes, is the most film-like looking of them to me. Probably my favorite, but each has strengths aesthetically. If I had to pick a favorite based on looks along, though, it'd probably be GTA IV, just because the post is done so well and really looks like a filmed movie when run at 30fps target and in motion. B Dawg
If TBOGT had something like CleanIV rather than making it overly colorful, it would have been perfect. Niobium
