Is it just me or (suppressed weapons)

Does putting a silencer on a gun make it more accurate for certain guns, like the AK and MP5. Or is it just me not seeing the flash and my brain being stupid.

I'm betting that it's just me, but it really seems like it reduces spread somehow.

i don't think it helps. seems like something you think changes afther putting it on. not a big silencer fan myself, so i only nave it on 2 weapons. so i'm probally not the best guy to talk about this subject.

I only suppressed a few weapons, they are pointless really and actually hurt the damage and range. I only put suppressors on my 2nd tier weapons for each class like I suppressed my Heavy Pistol, Advanced Rifle, Assault SMG and Sniper Rifle. Once the element of surprise is gone, which is usually only 1-2 mobs, I go with a Combat MG, Special Carbine, .50 Caliber or Heavy Sniper depending on situation and enemies range.

I've only noticed a few instances where silencers become handy. I only discovered this recently but when you run the mission "PICKUP STICKS" you can easily stealth mode and use a silenced weapon on the guy guarding the first package. Nobody will notice and you can get the kill and make a quick getaway without a big shootout. However, you'll only notice how useful this is if you get headshots. Body shots cause too much commotion.

Silencers are a waste of money they offer nothing special, just like stealth mode does nothing. Wonder why they even bothered putting them in the game at all?

Not if you play deathmatches; both silencers and the stealth skill are invaluable in PvP game modes. If we're talking strictly free-roam; then aye, they're pretty much useless.

A lot of people put suppressor on Auto-Shottie. I don't know why though...

The kickback is too OP for them. So they wanna turn it down a notch ................

On a real note.... I use the silencers for doing missions in a more stealth way... for sh*ts n giggles of course. No genuine purpose

More big plans for the game, that were undercut by the reality of deadlines :p

I have a few guns with silencers and use em constantly. In my personal experience I have noticed enemies in missions WILL NOT run to you as quickly when firing a silenced AR and they target you less around other players.

The silencer does decrease damage and maybe range just slightly, but I just sneak up close and get headshots anyways

Dunno why half the forum hates on them, I have NEVER failed a mission and thought "that fking silencer god damnit!"

Imo everyone should have at least 1 gun silenced

Last gen guns were more accurate with a silencer, curgen they are more accurate without a scope(if zoomed in first person). I have no videos to prove it but it is not that hard to do a survival with a silenced weapon then un-silenced. You will get more rounds on target with the silencer on if you play PS3 or 360. In curgen if you use first person you will get more rounds on target if you take the scope off. Go ahead and call me crazy, but first test it yourself.

And by the math silencer or no, you are not killing anyone faster to not have the silencer on. If it takes 3 rounds it takes 3 rounds reguardless.

It sounds cool.

Exactly, If people ever saw No Country For Old Men, then they know why we like the silencer on the shotty.

Aside from making a few weapons look "cool", I keep the suppressor off because damage.

Also, are you on urgent or old gen OP?

New gen, and yes I know about the damage and range drop off.

For the current gen the silencer might make a difference in the spread. I'm on the ps3 and I've never noticed that to make a difference here.

It doesn't seem to change anything besides decreasing the chances of detection (I feel like that doesn't even work, Police still flock to you) and reducing the power, furthermore the accuracy stat doesn't move when adding a suppressor, could even be making it worse as it subtracts from the range.

I think you're experiencing a placebo effect.

Silencers and Stealth mode provide an added advantage in Deathmatches. it's best to keep yourself off the enemies radar/map as much as possible.

Free roam, kinda useless...but it's kinda nice not to get a star when killing some isolated dude.

I think suppressing a weapon just affects damage and range, you gotta pay for the "element of surprise" BS

Since a suppressor only works with subsonic ammo, which is slower than regular one, you'll sure be dealing with less range/damage everytime. No BS!
