Outcast
I'm curious as to what everyones fuel consumption is. I am getting suspiciously low readings on my cars, probably because I bomb around everywhere but I just wanted to check. If I get enough numbers I'll probably organize it all into a ranked table so we can see who is the best at driving like a grandma. epoxi
Useful conversion site so people can post in various units: https://www.unitjuggler.com/convert-fuelconsumption-from-mpgimperial-to-mpg.html 38.4 mpg checking in Toyota Celica vvti ("Celica GT" in USA) Displacement: 1.8L Fuel: Petrol 38.4 mpg (UK) 32.0 mpg (US) 7.36 L/100km I do mostly main roads and motorway driving. I have no proof because my car doesn't calculate it, but at the risk of confirming I am the nerdiest kid on the forum: I have a spreadsheet. sivispacem
I do a lot of short runs in the Leon, so my average hovers around 27mpg at the moment. In mixed driving I tend to get mid 30s; my last mixed journey was 34.7mpg. epoxi
Eh, there's no point in buying such a powerful car if you don't thrash it once in a while. Once you get into BMW M territory, the extra cost of fuel pales in comparison to insurance, tax, depreciation, maintenance costs so more fuel just means you're getting more value out of it I guess (that is unless you're driving much more than 10,000 miles a year). I spent £1,400 on petrol to drive 9,000 miles, so another £2,400 (which is what you're essentially paying extra if prices are similar to UK) isn't that big of a deal compared to the other costs. epoxi
Number of miles driven ÷ Number of gallons of fuel put into car to drive that distance = Fuel economy in miles per gallon Best to calculate over a few months of regular driving to make the figure is accurate. Short trips will give you poor mpg, long drives at around 50-70mph will give you higher mpg. There are also apps like fuelly for those not willing to do the maths. Zyo
Nissan juke 1.6 i am driving this month is getting 7.3l/100km for 80mph motorway cruising and city driving. Checked the numbers today. Last time i did the math in the Mercedes 230CLK, i was getting a shade under 32mpg UK for similar driving conditions. Posted the exact number on another site. I'll check but i think it was 31.9. Noticed better mileage with 98 rating fuel too. Found between 8-10% to be expected. There must be something fundamentally wrong with the way I drive if I'm only getting 15mpg My record low for a run was in the S4, I think I averaged 11mpg. sivispacem
7.8 MPG? Bloody hell, and I thought 11 for my old S4 was bad. Might be a laugh to work out how many horsepower per L/100km everyone has. I have 24.7, epoxi has 19.2 assuming his car is the 140hp version, or 26.0 if it's the 190; Outcast, assuming his 1M is Stage 2 and ~430hp has 28.9 and Chris manages a whopping 10 from his 750i. epoxi and Outcast 2 AMD Ryzen 5900X (4.65GHz All-Core PBO2) | Gigabye X570S Pro | 32GB G-Skill Trident Z RGB 3600MHz CL16 EK-Quantum Reflection D5 | XSPC D5 PWM | TechN/Heatkiller Blocks | HardwareLabs GTS & GTX 360 Radiators Corsair AX750 | Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic XL | EVGA GeForce RTX2080 XC @2055MHz | Sabrant Rocket Plus 1TB Sabrant Rocket 2TB | Samsung 970 Evo 1TB | 2x ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q | Q Acoustics 2010i | Sabaj A4
epoxi
You beat me in those rankings, it's the 140hp. The 190hp version is VVTL-i (as opposed to VVT-i). I considered the VVTL-i but older examples have a tendency to burn oil and the lift bolts can fail (in which case it just gets rendered a regular 140 anyway). Plus everyone says you only get the 190hp by redlining it all the time.

Old car that stood for years and years I guess, That's why I'm not driving it as often as I should, I really wish I could put some time into it though, but that have to wait untill I find a garage again, I'm already hated by my neighburs that I'm taking up 4 parkingspaces around my neighburhood!
