What happens when you downgrade apartments?

I have the 480K del pierro heights apartment and I want rid of it. If I buy one at a much lesser value and trade in what is the effect? If I buy one at 200K does the trade in cover the entire cost? Going by other trade ins I've done the cost should cover it.

You will get money back if the trade in value is more than the purchase price of the new garage.. if the new garage has fewer spaces availabe (10 car trade to 6 car) then you will have any vehicles in the last slots into storage and can only access them through your mechanic. Also be mindful that if you steal a car and drive it in it will not replace one of your stored vehicles.. it will either go into an empty slot or require you to overwrite a car in that garage.
