Its just stupid...They hardly ever give us news in advance, only a day before the release of the update and that's if there is a update. It'd be nice i they bothered to just put a simple post saying that there wouldn't be a valentines update...But no...in their beautiful secrecy we didn't find out until the day... They use hackers and glitchers as a excuse for everything as well as using Heists and Pc as a excuse for everything. Right now many players can not play GTA Online because rockstar are currently stupidly occupied with heists and pc, one of which should of been out over a year ago. I made a massive ticket to rockstar about being timed out when locating a session and still no reply. All the expansions are tiny and hardly ever give us what we want, often giving us useless sports cars that have minimal customisation and have look - a likes already in the game but instead with worse stats. To add, as I should've done (bite me), if things keep going the way they're going now - I just might. Heists, while they do matter to me - they don't concern my interest as much as: The silence of the newswire. The lack of updates just to appropriate glitches and the consistency of hotfixing money glitches. The number of tweaks and "fixes" they make to harmless things in the game. The prices of a lot of in-game content. The prices of Shark Cards. I don't mind, truly, but $99 for 8mil? Are you f*cking kidding me? Are we appreciated gamers or mindless fanboys? I don't care how easy it is to make money. That's bullsh*t. Most of this does tie in to money, but games with an economy, (where there is an existence of microtransactions like GTAO) inevitably will be debated infinitely just-because it's easy to. Whether the content we receive is worth having to grind missions or purchasing expensive virtual currency for - is subjective. I don't believe we've been given their best since I'm Not a Hipster. I don't care if all the updates are free. LTS, Flight School and Festive Surprise(if you think it's a considerable mention since /update drought) were crap. - but that's my opinion. I will not argue that. There is no point. If somebody has lost respect or trust in a gaming developer - why are they in the wrong? Are they not paying customers? What difference is there in losing respect or trust in a leader, a company or any other figure/giant/anyone or anything that upholds an image or reputation? They were led to believe by Rockstar themselves that they were going to be served "an evolving world" - of course, yet again, subjective, but I don't think they should be ridiculed for having standards (or I'll give you one better) for having expectations in seeing Rockstar's creation be as truly ambitious as they envision it. I spent $120 on Grand Theft Auto V. $60 the first time around, another $60 a year later for PS4. Is it wrong of me to expect more from a developer that's primary focus is on their multiplayer component of the game? 'Having spent yet another $60 for essentially the same multiplayer experience as last gen for 5 months (and counting), I think its alright if I do. I love Rockstar too and for them to get better, critiques are to be made. Criticism must be listened to - even if they must weave-through nonconstructive criticism to get to it. Look heists could completely bomb but i beleive atleast they have put in the most effort to atleast have them it is a big move for the, their multiplayer hasnt been this big before. Aslong as they keep putting out "good" games i still like them, i said good as in my opinion gta 5 to me is a 5-6 / 10 story at best but im still playing online alot where as take another company Ubisoft - Assassins creed no where near the same game but its a series i have loved to death because of the historical landscapes an values has turned to sh*t quite rapidly since they have started mass producing them. Question is to me do heists really matter that much im still playing this game online and all i do is race mode, iv easily bought anything i have wanted, if heists are going to be a big pay day what do i PERSONALLY need the money for i know its different for different people. Misunderstood Posted February 22, 2015 Share Posted February 22, 2015 Even thought I see V as a decent game and I think GTA O is a disgrace to the company, I gotta give them props. This is the first R* game I have played that I have been fully disappointed. GTA 3, VC, SA, LCS, VCS, GTA IV, TLAD, TBOGT, CTW, RDR, L.A Noire and MP3 are all fantastic games that live up to the R* name. GTA V still receives critical acclaim so even besides my point, a good chunk of people think V is still brilliant. I just think it's the first disappointing R* game I have played which is amazing considering the streak of great games they have. To be honest, I can understand the delays for heists due to all the hackers/glitchers in game, as well as them trying to "polish it up", however, the lack of information posted on the Newswire is very disappointing. And such a huge update as the Heists update which is the main focus of GTAO shouldn't be an exception. Yes, whilst delaying the update (but NOT giving out any official release dates) they haven't been very informative with us all, ,but that goes back to my main point. Since the beginning of GTA Online, they've given us monthly updates/double cash or RP/Special crates to make sure the game at least stays fresh, and full of content. That alone makes up for the understandable delays. Just go back to the very first trailer and watch the portion detailing online heists and then watch the most recent official heists trailer. They could have easily given us a half assed version where it's just "Okay, take your guns, here's a mask, now run into this bank and blindly rob it", but clearly they've given us something far better than that. With that being said, I *PERSONALLY* think we should actually be grateful for what Rockstar are doing here, it's no secret that they like to keep all information to themselves until they see fit, they've been like that for the longest. Rockstar didn't have to give us a free Online mode to go with the already amazing story, or they could have, but not bothered with Heists, and any of the other updates and just left us with a big open with a few game mode and a bunch of missions to play over and over again. But they haven't. Btw OP, Rockstar never announced a second Valentine's Day update, stop watching those GTA Youtubers and you'll live happier. I understand that we should be grateful for free updates but I rather have competent paid updates in my opinion. The lack of any Valentine's content or any communication about it at all was the cincher for me. I've built up over $22million with nothing to spend it on other than new paint jobs if the mood strikes. I've played so much that friends I play with regularly have come in, become good, and left to play other games more times than I can count. I know every contact mission inside out and can solo ALL of them nearly blindfolded. Don't get me wrong, I'll probably play this game till the day they shut the servers off, but holy crap they really need to step up the new/different content releases. And this is coming from a guy who 2 months ago was all about giving them time and don't be a gimmie gimmie player. But dude. This game is HUGE and I'm OCD to the point of I should probably be medicated and even I'm getting bored with the current content I have access too. S0lo Posted February 23, 2015 Share Posted February 23, 2015 my beef with them is that it has become extremely obvious with GTAV that from here on out they plan to go about monetization in the same way the other AAA companies go. If at least they would provide us with actual technical support and a deal (in case of the current gen version) that was in the slightest way reflective of our loyalty as repeat customers, then i'd have no big issue with them cashing in on the game. But fact is, SP was so broken for me right off the bat on current gen that i gave up on it after an hour. And from the 5 technical issues i was in contact with support about, not one of them was even remotely solved, and the exchange with support was a degrading exercise in ignorance and incompetence. So, as much as i'd like to keep on liking the company whose games i've been playing pretty much as long as they've been making them and who entertained me probably more than any other game company, ever since i lit my first bunch of walking pixels on fire with a flamethrower, at this point i'd just be a sucker if i did. You don't take back the bitch who went off and f*cked some rich broker, not unless she had damn good excuse ready for you. If you did anyway you'd lose any and all self-respect. There is a ton of stuff that you can do online-Races -Missions -LST -Death matches -Parachuting -Survival -Versus Missions -Capture -Shooting Range -Golf -Tennis -Arm Wrestling Just in those game modes you have tons of Rockstar made and custom made jobs. Is it really that hard to go looking for the jobs? Jobs not take your fancy? How about the amount of weapons they have supplied for us? -At least 9/10 melee weapons -At least 7/8 hand guns -At least 6 shotguns -At least 6 machine guns -At least 5 Rifles -At least 6 Heavy Weapons -At least 3 Snipers -At least 6 Thrown Weapons (excluding the snowballs) Most of the Weapons they have supplied to us have modifications to try and suit the player. Guns don't take your fancy either? i can get that, after all its not the main thing people will turn heads at when you are online. So lets talk about the Vehicles. Not all the vehicles are accessible online, but still there seems to be some custom jobs out there that can give you access to it them. -Motorcycles ( estimate 18) -Compacts ( estimate 6) -Coupes (estimate 11) -Sedans (Estimate 20) -Sports (Estimate 25) -Sports Classics (Estimate 11) -Super (Estimate 9) -Muscle (Estimate 17 -Off-Road (Estimate 17) -SUVs (Estimate 16) -Vans (Estimate 14) -Industrial (Estimate 8) -Commercial Vehicles (Estimate 8) -Utility (Estimate 14) -Military( Estimate 4) -Emergency (Estimate 21) -Service (Estimate 7) -Cycles ( Estimate 7) -Planes (Estimate 17) -Helicopters (Estimate 8) -Boats (Estimate 10) With most (if not all) of those vehicles you have in-game radio that was also Updated for Next-gen. Imagine the cost of adding all those songs to a game like GTA. People complain about the radio not being as good as others, but think about it. Does the radio you listen to always have the best songs playing that you love? Im going to guess that it doesn't (Excludes underground radio). Does your radio also have very witty and funny inappropriate things that would never be said on air by real radio hosts? Your Character has a lot customization options. A majority of the customization options don't suit your character? Well that's a shame because there is a ton of clothes out there. They try to accommodate for a lot of the options. Im not even going to try and list every sub section of the options but ill list the options at least -Hair -Tattoos -Accessories -Glasses -Clothing -Masks They have also tried to correct the passive mode so that people can stop whinging about being defenseless. They provide free DLC for the game to try and keep the game balanced and without players being segregated from their friends because they couldn't afford the $20 for the latest pack of maps. Speaking of maps, The map is massive. Split into Los Santos and Blaine County. Both of these sections contain different geographical locations as compared to other parts of the map. So no, i don't find that im losing trust in Rockstar games. Because they seem to try and correct a lot of stuff that the community complains about such as nerfing the tanks a bit. People also hate that they stop the money glitches. You do know that money glitches take away money from Rockstar. Do you honestly expect that Rockstar would just sit back and allow for people to cheat and gain a lot of money and then stop playing because they grew bored of playing a game that has not much to do. People also fail to realize that the people who fix the servers, do not actually face the public with their trivial complaints about the game. It would be a massive technological advancement if Rockstar had created a flawless game that had no issues. As for heists, they may have announced that heists were coming to GTA. But it is mainly the public that has created the hype (Especially no thanks to Domislive or other commentators). They report on hacks and stuff like that. Then if something isn't released as a part of the DLC people will go crazy about how it was never included. Its Rockstars property; they can choose to release stuff or not at their discretion. If you have an issue with Rockstar owning the property, than you can take it up with the Terms and Conditions that you signed to. The real issue is the players. The people who constantly complain about GTA:Online heists and take away credit to those who have put in effort to say thanks to Rockstar (I.E. Fan Art). So if anything, i have lost respect for the GTA:Community. The people who are too lazy to use their imagination of what they can do on GTA:Online. For anyone who wants to argue about GTA being boring. Come back to me with a game that has a massive open world and has all of those things plus more. For those of you who want to use the servers and glitches argument. I agree that it could be better handled. I only respect a handful of people that play this game and on site but the majority disgust me with how needy, ungrateful, and disrespectful that they are. You flame a company that has done alot more than what other companies would never do especially with updates. Now R* has got its fair share of issues too, they are far from perfect. MellowFellow Posted February 23, 2015 Share Posted February 23, 2015 I always liked rockstar because they gave the impression they were sticking up two fingers to the other games firms and everybody who hates on games - cardigan wearing people who complain about violence in games for example. Now I get the impression they're sticking two fingers up at us instead. It is this change in perception from being the little guy who changed into being one of the giants that may alter our view. Still a half decent game, still a better company than ea. But they are just another business now, that's probably the worst bit for us old timers that watched original gta and manhunt battle against the mainstream and the censors.
