GTA Underground - adding (not replacing) the VCS and LCS maps to SA!

We are looking for interested mappers/modellers who have experience on the SA engine and want to contribute to this project. I am putting alot of time in keeping this topic updated, and I really need a modding team, I can't do everything on my own.

This mod is focussing on getting the Stories maps working together. This means, you can visit the VCS map from San Andreas, and the LCS map too! Later on, these maps will be remodelled a bit, so they look more modern. But, wouldn't that sound impossible to do?

Yes, it maybe does. This mod will be an open-world mod. Later, when I'm done with the maps, I can start on the missions and such. For now, no missions. Also, LODs are temp. removed because of the bugs they've caused.

But, what about the used mods/tools? Here they are!

Map Q&A:

Q: The map has collision right? A: Yes. I have added collision.

Q: Are these maps yours? Did you steal them? A: Nope, I have used the Stories Map Converter tool to convert them.

Q: Will there be more then just the LCS and VCS maps? A: Yes. I will fix the conversion bugs and add in some extension of what we have now.

Q: How about the limits? A: With the help fastman92 has gave me with the limit adjuster, there's plenty of room for experimentation.

Why not use VC map? It will be better. Also remove the Callahan Bridge from LCS map too, it was not made until 1998. :)

I was thinking of using the VC map, but I prefer VCS map because it has neon and all that stuff. Im going to add in more stuff after I'm done remodelling the maps. They have alot of bugs right now.

EDIT: Added some radar icons so the player knows where the other cities are.

Thanks again, got alot of stuff that needs to be fixed. Expect a beta 1.0 release in a few months. I have to take out the LODs and re-add them because they're a big problem. I have fixed all of the misplaced objects I've spotted so far. More to come.

EDIT: Removing LODs from LC. I will re-add them later on. I have fixed that big buggy LOD that had to be taken out.

EDIT2: All lods will be removed from LC. They really really mess up the entire map right now. They will be re-added later on.

Thank you. I got the VCS and LCS LODs removed. They were really messed up.

Yes, I just had to remove them because ingame, the map looked like a garbage dump.

It's a bug from the LA I think. I have asked fastman92 about it, haven't got any response yet.

EDIT: Just look at LC, it has working draw distance but the game is LOD-Only. This is really bad.

Just look at the state of the garbage dump now.

LCS LODless! It's now completely LODless. The game now fails to render the map out sadly. But i'll find a way.

If you know anyone that might be interested in helping with this project, please let me know.

Going to work on LC map.

EDIT: LCS is really a pain, it's a huge mess. The game fails to render the LODless map, and only LOD models are being rendered. So if the LODs get added properly, the models will dissapear once you come close.

X-Seti contact me today and asked if I wanted to be under the SOL label.

I agreed, this allows me to get some more publicity and interests into this mod. I am going to need new members for the team every day, if anyone wants to contribute, contact me on skype, don't just PM me.

I'll ask X-Seti to change the topic name once he has moved this thread to the SOL forums.

EDIT:

LCS map is being reworked on because of the bugs with the LODs that are inside the IMG files. Once the LODs are removed, I can release a beta version. (Yes, I can release a beta version. Not saying that there will be a beta release, but it's possible. Lets hope for the best!)
