LotionYogurt
GTAV engine sounds sound like GTAV engine sounds no matter what you listen through, dumbass. Changing audio output doesn't magically change the sound files, do I seriously have to explain this to you? I do more or less agree with you, but I don't think you needed to call him a dumbass. From my experience (I may just have sh*tty speakers, though), using speakers seems to "lose" a lot of audio I used to hear just fine with my headphones, so there may be a method to the madness. But what do I know, I'm not too educated when it comes to sound equipment and such.

Changing audio output doesn't magically change the sound files, do I seriously have to explain this to you? Oh yea try GTA V using a TV speaker and then with a 7.1 surround headset...u can immediately notice the difference and the quality of the sound.i never said tht the output magically change the sound files The difference is tht TV speakers cant produce some of the little sound details more clearly hence u cant HEAR THEM unless u put ur ear against the speaker.Thts wht the headphones are for..u can hear LITTLE SOUND DETAILS MORE CLEARLY because the speakers are directly touching ur ear..i myself tested this GAMIR_GTA
CarlitoDorito
I like the sound of the feltzer, the dominator too. I expected this to start with "in IV..." But wow, super surprised. It may not be as good as racing games, but it's still good. Especially for an open world game. All the threads on here are just bitching and bitching, very rarely you will find a thread not talking about how lazy R* is, it is starting to get annoying now. Guest
Of course it's not sh*te, I was making a point. It's fine saying the sounds are decent but saying they're better than racing games, whose devs put a lot more effort and time into the vehicle sounds is just absurd. So far, OP seems like he doesn't actually have anything legitimate or useful to say, rather blaming R*'s sound files on my audio equipment. That and the awful grammar makes him like a 12 year old, and I wouldn't be suprised if he was. So, as I said before, /thread.

Changing audio output doesn't magically change the sound files, do I seriously have to explain this to you? Do you even understand how bass and treble work? If your speakers don't have any bass, a deep car engine is gonna sound sh*t to you. Frequence also matters. 8kHz ain't the same as 16kHz, for example. Hakosuka
The engine sounds aren't bad, they could be better... but they're not bad. The thing that bothers me is that every car on the road is louder than mine for some reason. If I'm driving a Comet (for example) and there's another one next to me, I could barely hear mine. One more complaint: I don't like how every turbo sounds the same... except for the ones on the newer cars. They all have the same spooling noise and the same blow off noise. Vertighost
I agree the sounds are a lot better on current gen. I enjoy the ability to plug headphones into the PS4 controller also...Really like the Turbo in the Futo.

Guest
For f*ck sake, all you get with headphones is subtle quiet differences. Putting headphones into your controller doesn't change the sound files to good ones that have some roar to them. Half of the reason the sounds suck is because the driving mechanics suck. if your car goes 0-60 in 2 seconds you don't get any feeling of progression, that your car's power is working towards higher revs. GTAV doesn't have any of that, it's just "lol turbo spooling so realistic" And for the record I'm using headphones. traksta1
Gran Turismo would count as a "racing game" I guess?. If so, I'll take R*s simplified but more viscerally fun take on engine sound over that meticulously developed, researched and recorded source of disappointment to so very many, all day, everyday. It doesn't mean they're any good though? Bass and treble are going to affect the output of the engine sounds.. so it could sound very warm, or very bright.. sound is very subjective. Guest
No, no. Sound equipment doesn't change audio files, jesus christ. You can change the bass and treble as much as you want, that only changes bass and treble. It doesn't magically make the engines have some oomph to them. Compare GTAV's sounds to how a 2JZ sounds, or an LS3.

That's right, completely different recordings depending on the quality of gear you're listening through. smh

SCOOBASTEEB
I think some cars sound ok. Only annoying thing is that all of the cars sound real and actually pretty good, if you change the angle of the camera so that you are looking right up the exhaust and press the accelerator you'll know what i mean, just seems the 'normal' camera angle doesnt pick up that sound
Sussus Amongus
I played both last ad current gen versions. The greatest improvements in the engine sounds are the Vigero, Infernus and the Schwarzer. Those three have orgasmic sounds on the current gen consoles. Mista J
They're not that good. They no way in hell sound like a good simulation racing game. The difference is almost like a cat meowing and a lion roaring. I used my HD558 to listen BTW and they sound better than any gaming headset with fake surround sound.
