GTA V next gen engine sounds..

Recommended Posts

This is one of the things i noticed..the vehicle engine sounds are really nice and detailed specially on the sports cars..u can hear the turbo whine when u change gear, the engine idle sounds rly nice too..the older cars also have a realistic touch..the engine sounds and the backfiring..there is this prius which runs silent until u accelerate which then u hear the engine kicks in.These are one of the small details which makes driving a more fun and realistic experience to me..specially in FP mode.If someone who didnt play GTA V comes to my house and sees me driving a modified cheetah or turismo R..they will say "what kind of racing game is this??is it NFS?"only to their suprise to tell its GTA V hahaha

Even the planes and helicopters sounds are very detailed..the ignition specially and when the engine is damaged..u can hear a sort of whine getting louder and louder until the engine dies off and the warning alarm triggering in.R* rly did a great job in making the driving style in game feels more like a racing game

Great job R*!

I thought this thread was going to be something more like this:

"wtf c* engine sounds suckk ass wtf wtf gta 1 had better engine sounds cockstar"

U hate the GTA V engine sounds?

Nope but in the GTA Forums, everyone bitches about everything so we are surprised you actually like something about GTA V.

Yeah, no. The engine sounds are way too flat, there's no roar to them. If you think GTAV is like a racing game you've never actually played one. It also seems like you've never heard how a real life engine sounds.

There is..only u just dont hear it..and yea it does feel like a racing game..i never mentioned it feels like a racing simulator which needs all the realism tht can get and destroys the fun..I have seen and heard many cars..The Ford mustang for eg...it sounds really similar to the one in GTA V.Plus iv been playing racing game since i was a child..NFS was one of my favorite. It seems that u didnt play any racing games..and yet u have to bitch about it.Most of the games were 60FPS..while GTA V was 30FPS..if u think thats not fun enough then yea stop driving in GTA V lol

Aaaaand the whining starts!

Yea hes a guy who never played any racing game and insults me saying i never played any racing games...

If you think GTAV feels like a racing game you must be playing some sh*tty racing games.

Go on YouTube and listen to how a 2JZ sounds. Compare that to GTAV's kitchen appliance noises.

/thread

I doubt it..i can say tht u were playing sh*tty racing games or u just have a sh*tty headphone to hear the sound...

Have u ever heard the sound of a real car engine??I doubt it..So get ur "Lazy" ass off the couch and go into the open and hear the engine sounds of a real car rather than hearing them with a sh*tty headphone on a game

@lazy. Do you have the new gen version? Because they might have changed them for new gen. I don't have the new gen version, so I'm not sure.

Im pretty sure hes just using sh*tty headphones or TV speakers which sounds rly bad and unclear...i am using a gaming headset and i can say that the engine car sounds are incredibly detailed specially on the next gen

Same engine sounds, Evan. I've got both PS3 and PS4 versions, they're the same.

Ofc most of the sports cars have same engine sounds..but thts not the point here.Im pretty sure ur using TV speakers...because if ur using a gaming headset like razor..u wont deny this..unless ur pretty dumb of how a car sounds

Nice topic, OP. Good to see a nice and positive thread that isn't just whining for once.

There's no doubt that the engine sounds could be a lot better, but they're still the best sounds in the series in my opinion.

GTA IV was mainly vacuum cleaners, and San Andreas, VC and 3 all had a really weird way of handling the sounds that never took RPM into account. Come on, this isn't Forza we're talking about, here. I think the engine sounds are fine for what it is.

Yea for a game this huge...they did a great job with the vehicle engine sounds and handling..rly great and yet there are whiners who cant appreciate what R* did for us

Hmm. Yeah GTA V engine sounds are much better than IV so it was a nice improvement for the PS4/Xb1.

Other than that, the only thing that I would nitpick from the GTA V is the first person driving. Comparing the animations of third and first person view, driving in first person is essentially half assed when it comes to the turning the steering wheel properly. The third person view actually shows proper steering wheel animations. But then again, GTA V isn't meant to simulate real life driving :)

GTA IV was mainly vacuum cleaners...

Well, I don't like to call them like that. The engine sound of sports cars were okay in IV, but V definitely improved them.

Vehicle sounds are extremely detailed in V in comparison to past games. That adds quiet a lot to the driving experience, especially when driving with radio turned off. You even hear that sound of the engine cooling off when leaving a car.

Yea it was definitely a huge leap forward from the engine sounds in GTA SA to IV..and again a leap forward in GTA V with quality improvements and additional sounds like turbo, engine cooling off,whistles...etc

Lets whine about how gta v was delayed 4 times.. i say 4 because another delay is coming.

I sure hope not..last time they didnt even give us the system requirements..and even pre-orders..

But now they have given a bonus for pre ordering within a certain date so im sure it wil be released on March

Okay, GTA v engine sounds are not bad but come on they could be hell of a lot better!

IMO all the super, muscle and sports cars all sound the same to one another with very little differences.

What happens to the variety of engine noises in GTA!

I can remember playing Sanandreas back in the day and being really impressed with the variety in all the vehicles

Rockstar make matters worse by making the trailers sound better than what we ended up with - take for example the sound of the Sanchez and Quads in trailer 2 sounding like mean ass off roaders - 2 stroke! But what we got was hairdryers.

I think a little more variety in each category of vehicles - To tell them apart - and I think Rockstar are on to a winner 😊

I'm sorry, but you can't be serious. There's alot of variety of engine sounds.

All in sports class. Don't tell me they sound the same. V has certainly the biggest variety of engine sounds in the series.

OP is right, this game has some incredibly detailed audio, not just engine sounds. The thing is that most TV speakers can't relay all the detail. You'd be surprised how good the game sounds if you're using quality gaming headsets. And if your on ps4, all you need is a decent pair of headphones to plug into the controller. Everything sounds so much better, including car engine sounds.

For example, I didn't notice that car engines made the tick tick sound when the car is parked and the engine is cooling down until I played with headphones for the first time on ps4.
