Why is capture almost dead?

I've tried to join capture over the past couple of days but the best lobby I ever got out of it was 2 players on each team with people leaving throughout the game. Most quick joins end up with empty lobbies.

Anyway, I'm wondering, why are these game types so neglected in GTAO? Is it because deathmatch is better, or maybe they're just plain boring and the payout is measly?

In my opinion capture game modes don't offer enough objective incentive whereby players that capture or defend the objective by giving those players an extra $1000-$2000 at the end of the game weather they win or lose. Also, there's not enough interesting buildings like the intricate insides of a building where you have to run up and down stairs, break glass windows and jump from rooftops.

What are your guys' opinion on the state of capture? Can it be improved by R* in the future or is it a lost hope like the possibility of heists coming out?

I'm behind you guys with this. Really wish it was more popular.
Also, somewhat devastated that Last Team Standing never really took off either, because I love the feeling of permanent death. God damn, feel like such a fun opportunity was missed. :(

capture is fun and there is a large about of people who enjoy playing these kinds of modes.
just that they get drowned out by the thousands of RDM free mode fanatics who just want to turn everything they can into a spiteful DM

other than race and deathmatch, people dont really like PVP for some reason

especially versus missions but they all cry for cops n robbers

if you could have capture and team capture, that would make it better

Yeah I like them. Some of them are very bad though, including rockstar captures with one team having a big advantage or the vehicles being too fast/slow.I honestly can't think of a reason why they're so unpopular.Does anyone know of a capture crew you could join?

I love captures. Some of my craziest & unforgettable game experiences were during captures. I don't play it much because it's difficult to find players & even harder to find smart players.

I recommend checking out the Highest Treasure capture. The players needs to fly to Mount Chilliad & deal with hostile NPCs & of course with each other. It's awesome.

The last time people flocked to Captures was Field of Screams v.03/4

But they aren't really fun. 1 team just camps and has 1 guy going for the object. The worst one I've played was the one with the Besras in LSA/Zancudo running from 1 airport to the other. Horrible capture.

Miss Malevolent

Matchmaking is broken.

I'd play more of those game modes of I didn't have to play against my friends. I want to play against strangers.

the only moment i remember seen people actively joining captures were during the "helicopter rp glitch"

You missed Field of Scream? 75k for delivering 2 tractors in a sh*t field of police/army/RPG warriors?

I like em, they're ok.

Other than playing the ones my friend created, I haven't done them much tho, mainly because I'm a freeroam junkie (.__ . )

The reason for that is i think the fact its quite imposible to fill such a match realy up and the fact that the payouts arent that high

if they woud just increase the payouts overall more and there servers woud work like the servers of cod worked( if there is one thing good about cod, its sertainly that everything is going realy fast when filling up a lobby) they woud become more populair.

edit: hell, just give the same 10% bonus like now is the case with missions and fix the goddamn matchmaking and capture woud become realy populair.

Because people prefer to kill other players in free roam. And it's a complete campfest.

The Lonesome Drifter

Custom created maps flat out ruined DM's/LTS's/Capture's for this game. It's because of this why I no longer bother with them (and I only rarely do races also due to this fact).

I've only gotten enough people to start a Capture game twice... In one of those, one of the players quit after someone else scored the first point and it ended the game, and in another we didn't even make it to the truck we were supposed to steal before one of our teammates quit and ended the game early.

Mode sounds fun, but was DOA... At least in free aim anyway.

Do you get that R*? no one gives a sh*t about your lame capture jobs, you just keep getting lamer and lamer.

I woudn't be surprised if your 'big ass heists' turned to be crap

Because they require thought, teamwork, and patience.

Things that the playerbase can't comprehend.

There are a few capture crews out there. Just have to find them.

People are too lazy to go for the objetive. 90% of the time it just turns into a deathmatch.

It was technically a vs mission created by mods and was removed because They dont want us to have the mission creator yet.

Payouts. Simple as that. Compared to other game modes the payouts are crap. If they paid better, more people would join them.
