OBeef619
No cool down. Just follow him as you kill him. How you didn't work that out on at least the 3rd tank drive is baffling. It's a rare instance this occurs so no need to disadvantage a community. Imagine a Pegasus cool down on non-weapon vehicles. Would ensue rage. Potato Bean
I agree there should be a cooldown. There's nothing stopping the guy from going into passive mode after you kill him (or go off radar) and going to get another tank. While they're easy to kill, they also COST a lot to kill. 4-5 sticky bombs is almost 3k, but often times it's more if he kills you while holding one or you miss a throw. Until R* stops favoring the terrible players, your best bet is to just ignore them. If you see someone coming at you in a tank, just drive away. What I like to do if someone is especially mad at me, go to an out-of-the-way place (like the docks where you turn in simeons vehicles) and sit there until they arrive. Then just drive past them and their tank. They'll spend the next 5 minutes driving back into the city and often times will be heavily damaged by cops on the way. Other times I will get a buzzard and kill them. Only takes 2-3 direct rocket hits to destroy them. You just have to be wary of their location so they don't manage to get a shot on you. shmok2
People still use tanks? Whenever someone (a player/npc) puts a big bounty on me ($5,000 - $9,000) I feel like "Hooray! it's tank time!" because players who rush to get to me for the bounty don't know I'm in a tank. Yesterday, after a player placed a $9,000 bounty on me, I switched sessions twice (in order to find new victims) & every time I did the same thing: drove to the tank > drove the tank to a street near players > waited for them to come > butchered them. Eventually someone managed to blow me up & I paid insurance fees for some PVs but it was all worth it because I had something like 40 minutes of fun. FrugalDangerMan
People still use tanks? As I've posted elsewhere, I only drive them to confuse people. I obey traffic lights, stop at stop signs and give pedestrians the right of way. It's fun seeing people react as they come around a corner and see me sitting there. Some run scared, some yell in the mic. I just give a TOOT TOOT on my horn and drive on. If I could only see the look on their face..... RoyalRedXIII
Possibly Yes and no. YES: Because it's stupid that people can spam tanks more often than I can call for my PV, from my OWN PERSONAL MECHANIC. Like, really stupid. >_> NO: Because I don't wanna have to wait 3 days in between calling my buzzard or Luxor due to; -Pegasus deciding to recall it since I wasn't using it -it getting "stolen" -some idiot in a mission blowing it up -me being silly and damaging it myself The cons outweigh the pros on this one for me, so I say no. Richard Power Colt
If you ask me, they should only be stealable from the army base. But they should be buffed back to how they used to be before patches. But I doubt that's gonna happen so a cooldown would be nice. Not for all Pegasus vehicles, but only tanks. I don't care how easy you people say it is to destroy them or deal with players who have them, they're annoying regardless. I just want to have a regular gunfight more often and the fact that they're so frequent makes them lose any speciality they had in the first place. No cool down. Just follow him as you kill him. How you didn't work that out on at least the 3rd tank drive is baffling. It's a rare instance this occurs so no need to disadvantage a community. Imagine a Pegasus cool down on non-weapon vehicles. frogfarmer
To the guy above me, I've had a tank since November.I use it mostly for missions. By itself its not op but the fact that it can be recalled unlimited times with no cooldowns is ridiculous Chasing those people to try to unsummon the tanks is a stupid idea.I tired it yesterday and the guy went passive, hid on a building for ten min then went right back to the tank. Why should normal cars take 5 minutes to recall, but goddamn tanks don't? The potential for abuse is there and only trolls or people doing it themselves disagree Richard Power Colt 1 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/768571-is-it-me-or-should-using-pegasus-have-a-cooldown/#findComment-1067015844 Share on other sites
Richard Power Colt
Just remembered one thing. There actually is a cooldown to Pegasus vehicles. But the problem is that it starts from the moment when you call in the vehicle and most of the time a person manages to spend enough time on a tank for the cooldown to end. The cooldown for tanks should start after the tank is destroyed. mo-seph
yea while were at it why not add a cool down timer to taking pv's out of a garage... theres enough cooldowns for the stuff that needs it, i really dont want or need a cooldown timer jsut becasue i crashed my besra in an invite only lobby... the number of weaponised pegasus vehicles is far outwieghed by the non weaponised ones... maybe if cooldown were jsut for tanks, annihilators and buzzards then yea, but who needs a cooldown on a f*cking yacht? cswood
No. If this is a free roam issue just leave sessions, easy fix. As far as missions goes I use my buzzard a lot and as some may have noticed an enemy NPC can spit on the buzzard now and it will start to smoke and the rotors will start to cut out so sometimes I have to call in a second buzzard per mission. Both the buzzard and the tank can be taken out easily in free roam (as the OP pointed out) so a cool down period is silly unless they make those vehicles harder to destroy. bulldog385 1 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/768571-is-it-me-or-should-using-pegasus-have-a-cooldown/#findComment-1067027989 Share on other sites
Chamber53DV
It's not as big of a problem as it was before. Killing a guy in a tank is much more satisfying. I will say, though, you should have beat him to one of those tanks and destroyed him. Like George W. once said, "There's an old saying in Tennessee I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee that says, fool me once, shame on shame on you. Fool me you can't get fooled again. If you go to the interaction menu it says "request personal vehicle." The mechanic will then deliver whatever vehicle you have out at the time with no affect on the delivery cool down. It's actually useful for ordering another vehicle from your garage too. When you hover over "request personal vehicle" it will tell you when you are "too close to personal vehicle." Once it changes to "have mechanic deliver personal vehicle," phone up your mechanic and order a different PV. OT: I'll vote for less cool downs over more for the most part. There are other options to avoid these types of annoyances. justinlynch3
No. If a dude is spamming tanks then find a new session. The way is now is great for missions.
