Potential Interiors

Recommended Posts

Why do people care so much about this? It's a game based around driving around. The indoor stuff isn't really necessary.

Why do you think people interested in interiors care about what you think about interiors ? Nobody really gives a sh*t about what you think. This is a a thread for discussing interiors, if you don't care about that stuff then just leave, you don't need to stay here and tell the whole world, damn.

Oh you better believe it, the difference is quite big, I just proved it to you already. Not including Alderney, LC in IV has EIGHT nightlife interiors ALONE compared to just the ONE in LS in V, which is the strip club. And that's just nightlife interiors. Then there are the fast-food interiors in LC, that as we all know LS does not have. LS has the convenience stores, but LC still has the internet cafes, laundromat etc. And there is the rest like the hotel, museum, office block, apartments etc. It's no contest, LC was proved to have more interiors than LS on here a long time ago, you could have figured this out by just counting them in your head.

Glad we can agree on the V's lack of interiors though.

Where did I deny that LC has more interiors than LS? What I said is that the difference isn't that big between the amount of interiors of both cities. LS has three tattoo palours, nine clothing shops (LC has four), six gun stores (LC has two), instead of the four laundromats LS has five banks, instead of the hospital LS has the police station, instead of the six Burger Shots and two Cluckin' Bells LS has eight 24/7 stores. Sure, LC has the two internet cafes, two superstar cafes, the museum, hotel and the lawyer office but LS has the three terminal corridors at the airport and the Merryweather docks control room. There's a few more in both cities. Correct me if I'm wrong but LC has about 55-60 interiors, LS has a bit less than 50. That's not a big difference IMO.

Are you really gonna class the Fleeca Banks has proper interiors ? 90 percent of the time they are empty with nothing going on in them and they are so small, they don't even give the feeling of being inside a building. You actually brought LS's corridors in an airport, and docks control room interiors into this ? Seriously ? No disrespect, but what the f*ck are corridors and control room interiors gonna do for the player ? They are of no significance loool. I'm talking about proper, fully-fledged interiors, and in my opinion there is quite a considerable difference - LC just seems to have a good bit more actual, immersive interiors than LS. I have both games, I've compared them myself and almost everyone else on here agrees with this, even the staunchest Rockstar defenders. But I'm not trying to force you to agree with me, if you choose to believe otherwise, then it's your right.

Whether or not GTA IV had more than V or not is irrelevant.

IV had interiors that allowed the world to feel like people lived in it. Nobody is in the hairdressers, people are rarely in clothing stores. It doesn't make sense.

Yep, this is very true also, and that is also what I was getting at in my above comment.

Interiors are very important to keep the game more interesting. If its potential is used really well like the North Point Mall in Vice city where the mission Shakedown takes place and lot of other interactions within as well made the mall so much memorable while the other mini interiors like shops, repair garages, cafes, restaurants, etc can be used by letting players explore all the interiors freely and make them more than just decorative buildings. Like adding more complex interactions, missions, etc. Rockstar should spend more time on the interiors. Its definitely more worth it than detailed oceans, and animals.

Interiors are interiors, no matter how big they are. The laundromats and sex shops are also small. NPCs spawn often in the fleeca banks, at least on CG. Of course I brought the corridors and the control room to it. There are interiors after all, they are detailed and add to the immersion. What they gonna do for the player? Give a place to have shoot outs.

Talking about the interiors not being immersive enough: the eight fast food restaurants in LC only give you the possibility to eat, while in the 24/7 stores you can buy food, shoplift and even rob the stores. The strip club in LS is also more immersive than the one in LC, since you can drink there and throw money at the strippers, as well as getting a private dance, sometimes ending with taking the stripper to her house and have sex. Also ammu-nation stores are more immersive than the gun shops in LC, considering you can buy there certain clothes too, and two of them offer a shooting range, also you can rob them too.

But that all shouldn't matter, the point was the amount of interiors and LC doesn't have much more than LS IMO.

While we're at it let's add the inside of this place. Imagine the gunfights and craziness that could occur:

I give a sh*t actually. It's the single most talked about thing on this forum and it's stupid. A cluckingbell? Why would someone want to go inside of that? Most of you don't care about the casino or race track, which are the interiors that would actually add another element to the game.

On a practical level they are add an extra element to the game. They give you somewhere to start a shootout, somewhere to run to, somewhere to hide, somewhere to replenish health.

In relation to 'immersion', it makes the world look alive and it actually gives pedestrians an extra element of depth. It makes the world look lived in. We don't actually see pedestrians anywhere, just scattered across the footpath. The people who are mentioning Cluckin' Bell are mentioning this particular example because it seems like a no-brainer. Of course the Casino would be amazing, but why should the game lack something so basic and simple as a fast food restaurant?

Don't get me wrong, I love this game. I have only taken the disc out once since September 2013 - and that was to play a day of Watch Dogs before it bored me. I am a GTA V fanboy, but I also believe it could be much, much more than what it is.

I can't see there being any kind of 'interior update'.

Maybe places like the Casino in a specific Casino related DLC or something similar, but all of the mentioned places (IMO) are just there to make the city seem real rather than having the same generic shops copy and pasted like WatchDogs had.

I would rather have the other shop..

But seriously, most of your suggestions will never happen. Maybe Bahama Mamas and the Casino, that's about it I guess.

One thing that bothers me is the fact that all singleplayer interiors are fully present and rendered in gta online and all that separates the player from the interior and the outside is a very thin door. Thats just such a huge waste of space if we cant access them.

more accesible places the more shootouts, plus its ridiclous theres only one strip club and no bars or anything at besides 20 pointless stores we cant even go to burger shot or clucking bell ffs

i believe in functional interiors or interiors that serve a purpose like a shop bar or restaurant. interiors should serve some kin of interactive purpose and not just be open for the sake of look i can go in here. take the laundromats in gta 4. its not like you can wash your clothes in there.those stores don't look big enough for a shootout they provide little cover. even if you hide inside there i'm sure the police will still find you . also the back doors are locked so theres no escape.

@smokeswithcigs was it really worth quoting that huge post for that tiny reply hahaha :p

I'm not really bothered about the 24/7 stores, they're all the same really and theres plenty of them that are able to be entered.

I reckon there's plenty potential for different kinds of clothing stores though, plus the massive lack of bars/clubs makes me think there will be some kind off DLC like tbogt

Well why do people care about having countryside in a GTA game? Are we playing a GTA game or a country bumpkin simulator? Why do people care about having a detailed ocean floor? Are we playing a GTA game or pretending to be James Cameron exploring ship wrecks?

Obviously both of these questions are silly, but quite frankly so is yours. If the answer isn't obvious why people care about this stuff it's because it's highly relevent. Especially when GTA games are primarily based on urban environments.

IMO it's an awesome feeling approaching a door and wondering if it'll swing open and it actually does then you're free to explore what's inside. For me personally interiors have fascinated me since they became more prominent in VC. They add so much depth to the city and give them a more realistic and believable feel.

I hate how some games feel like their cities are mosly card board cut outs.

I wouldn't mind being james Cameron

There's a lot of interiors, but the map is huge and they're spread quite far apart. Most of them are the same too, there's only a few unique interiors, none like IV's hospital which I loved, or vice city's mall.

Hopefully DLC will add some more, I'm sure it will considering the moaning.

The airport would be a good interior, the extra rooms in Franklin's house too. Maybe some other houses or apartments in SP. Devins mansion would be a good one.

What annoys me the most is to do this wouldn't be hard work for Rockstar.

Create an interior for said place say ''Liquor Markets'' then use that one interior in all the different locations on the map.

Like the hair salons they've already created those interiors - How hard is it to open more locations on the map  .They've done this method before for the apartments/houses, Same interior different location.

The current gen consoles (Xbox One /PS4) should be able to handle more open locations on the map with ease.

I think it comes down to the fact that GTA hasn't really got on competition from another games of its type.Saints Row could been but thats gone abit weird IMO. It reminds me of Gran Turismo Games. It had no competition for years then Forza came along and now GT is playing catch up.

RDR had interiors, IV had interiors, LA Noire had interiors, so why does V have so so few interiors accessible during Freeroam? Oh yes because it's Rockstar games, arguably one of the most backward game developers out there.

"In a few weeks or so"

Releasing a trailer two years before the game's complete.

Missing out key features fans spent years demanding.

V has made me appreciate IV so so much more. It feels like a beautifully crafted, atmospheric triumph in the open world genre whereas V was like they took a few ideas here and there but then thought that was enough and left any further development. It's an absolute f*cking joke, not a game worth the five year wait. 8/10 at the most. Some elements don't even work like the animals literally calling the police and so called pedestrian "interaction" - ha! What a joke.

Yeah I wish you could go into the Museum just outside the city...at a loss for the name atm...but it had a cool exterior, would have been neat to see the inside, even if it's just artwork or dinosaur bones
