OysterBarron
The PC version needs native VR support. It's the next big step in gaming and I can't see why rockstar would not include it as a feature at least for enthusiasts to witness what a true GTA experience would be like. I know some of you would say it just isn't possible but I was having the same argument pre IV days when I suggested that it wouldn't be a real next gen gta without at least 16 player multiplayer and 3 quarters of you said impossible, that turned out to be possible and I'm glad I had faith in one of my favourite devs. Take2 have already come out and said that if the player base wants it in then they will entertain putting it in. Well in that case I'm officially asking for it to be included in GTAV PC without it the PC version lacks any sort of standout features compared to other versions that are already available well apart from slightly prettier graphics no doubt. I can't express how much media buzz a feature like this would cause for the GTA franchise on PC aswell. GTAV PC needs this just as much as it needs cars to jack. Drunken Cowboy
That's just like first person. Everyone will use it for 30 minutes because it's so cool and different, and then revert back to regular third-person because that's what the game was designed around. OysterBarron
I assume you've never used an oculus rift dk2 before with a statement like that! As long as you don't suffer motion sickness then the fake first person mode is of no comparison to a rift enabled first person view. Drunken Cowboy
I only got to demo one. Thing was f*cking amazing. GTA isn't a game I'd pair with it though. First person's too obscuring for me anyway. That game relies on third person view, particularly for driving. Edit: Doubt the team that doesn't put in features promised two years ago gives a f*ck about modifying the game to support a $350 accessory. OysterBarron
I'm sure with a 100 degree field of view and the ability to stick your head out of the window and look behind you and shoot with the dk2's up rated positional tracking would surely make up for that. I've played alien isolation and dying light at length with this device and the games are just not the same when you're just staring at a screen infront of you with a measly 30 degree viewing angle. OysterBarron
I would be happy with them releasing and adding in rift support down the line then I would pick the game up once that's patched in, I'm even hoping they have already dabbled in it and just disabled oculus mode in config files like other devs have done with other franchises. It's just a nice feature to have and I don't personally see why rockstar would have spent all the time remaking the game and assets to be more first person view compatible to then go and ignore the one bit of tech that could take real advantage of the changes. I still use the gta iv fp mod. And you cant even accurately shoot out of the car with that. Personally i was so excited to hear they were making it first person, because its very immersive to drive around in first person, motorcycle are the best. But even if you dislike it, you don't need to use it. Arya35

Sunrise Driver
Kinect is s**t. Oculus Rift is cool. GTA 5 will be supported anyway. Community gonna optimize it. Like GTA 4. I played this 2 times on PS3 and no way I'm playing 3rd time the same way on PC. Only Oculus Rift with First Person mode. Because GTA 5 is not GTASA or GTAVCS or GTA4. It can't be replayed again and again because it's boring and less fun. Edited February 23, 2015 by Street Mix OysterBarron

ItsJustMeSrsly
Please set R* free of your silly requests for a while, would you? ...They have much bigger problems to check and fix first, then implementing yet another feature, that is the last thing anybody could care about! Lets them first fix all the broken bugs, stupid AI, lack of traffic etc...THEN when all of that gets addressed (IF all of that gets addressed) they can go on with VR, OR or any other "R" for all i care!... Implementing something new takes time from development cycle and it would force them split their traffic and lowering the focus on more important stuff due to the number of all the new features they've got to put into the game!... OysterBarron
There's nothing out at the moment that can make you feel as immersed in a game world than that of a rift. This would truly be a new experience if instead of just replaying the game it actually felt like you were in the game, part of it. Considering gta is a crime sandbox it would seem like the natural progression of the series just like the jump from top down to 3d. With rockstars history of defining the industry I'm truly shocked they haven't jumped on this sooner. One can hope the last delay was for adding oculus support. I know and will eventually try moded in oculus support but this in my experience has never been upto scratch compared to developer implemented direct to oculus mode. @itsmeseriiusly It's not that far out request considering take2 have allready put some consideration into and spoke about it. Those bugs might be sorted out but they haven't as far as I'm aware said anything of the sort. If they were going to sort out the crappy Ai wouldn't they have done that across all platforms by now I'm sure rewriting AI code would not cause any other bugs whatsoever in what essentially is a finished product and has been for over a year. Plus you're just jealous because your current hoes are sh*t at head! Edited February 23, 2015 by OysterBarron
Aleph-Zero
"16 player multiplayer and 3 quarters of you said impossible" those three quarters sure are dumb. How is 16 players a next-gen numer? I'm surprised it's only 30.
OysterBarron
That was back in the day when 2 to 8 players was the trend on consoles that's why 16 was a good number. I had the same arguments when I suggested that the psp would be able todo multilayer because of the increased bandwidth WiFi allows. Anyone would think I was trying to suggest they could refloat jesus.

Eurotrash
Kinect is s**t. Oculus Rift is cool. They both look like pointless peripherals to me... We have analog and digital controllers. They work. Why do we have to re-invent the wheel?
Sunrise Driver
Calling 3D-to-VR switch pointless is like calling top down-to-3D switch (GTA 2 to GTA 3) pointless. VR brings you fresh new experience so needed in GTA 5. Without it game is not worth playing much. I'd say first person mode is pointless without use of VR. OysterBarron
I will agree kinect isn't even in the same ball park as the oculus. I originally thought what the hell is all the fuss about the Rift it can't be that good but once you've played one and been knocked on your arse on how good its and mind blowing it is you will change your tune just like I did. It blows 3d out of the water and truly gives you a glimpse of what gaming is going to be like in the next 2 years or so. Sony is making a headset samsung is and even Microsoft are its not just a fad it's coming and will be a standard feature seen in games no doubt.
