How come customisation is only partially visible?

You can see my customed car, but you can't see my custom gun colour? You can be in a firefight with me but I don't see the damage on your body or car?

 

I don't see the point of allowing custom weapons that only you can see.

i dont know on ngewgen but on ps3 i can see custom gun colors...

 

as for car damage, it got something to do with lag and server sync.

Sometimes my friends can see my gun tint, others they say its just black.

 

Changing sessions sometimes fixes it.

didn't know that choosing a pink camouflage for a virtual gun in a video game which should be treated as a recreational activity makes people idiots, and apparently 'psys' irl.

Because i betcha it would be very hard for them to get it working server-side and it would affect bandwidth and it hasn't been optimized yet. Plus they probably didn't see the point of actually allowing it server-side.
