You chase down a bounty, kill them, and then they leave the session before you can collect the bounty money. Seriously, are their egos so easily bruised they can't take a loss? It's just a game. I can just hear them screeching "No! No! Doesn't count" before rage quitting or switching sessions lol. When somebody has a bounty that's the one time that it's perfectly fine to go after a stranger. A person who runs and hides in their garage rather than getting killed once is the coward. I killed one last night that kept running from garage to garage. Too damn predictable! I laid a pattern of stickies and blew them as he passed the point on the mini map. Unless the bounty was just standing there and letting the other guy beat him to death the hunter has wasted time, effort and ammunition by chasing down and killing his quarry. The successful kill proves that he earned the right to collect the bounty. That is the nature of a bounty. It is not important if it is 1k or 9k or any other amount. Most people are pissed if something they worked for is kept from them without a valid reason, no matter the actual value. This is, without a doubt, such a case. On the other hand, the losing player who leaves the session before the money is paid just wishes to hold on to something they no longer have any rightful claim on. Alternatively, he just wants to piss off the hunter. Both motivations are in no way legitimate. If you insist on behaving like a cheating d*ckbag because you might miss out on 9k for bounty survival then you have bigger fish to fry. They then moved to a new lobby, where unless it's invite only, the same thing will happen again. If they'd stayed put the bounty would have ended. The only valid reasons to do this would be if they desperately needed the $9K (then pity them) or if they believed it would annoy the bounty hunter (then don't let it annoy you). But the only way I can see the player leaving so fast, is to reboot the gaming system because I don't believe you can log out while you are respawning and which case, that player would lose any unsaved data. Complaining about having a bounty put on you and complaining about someone claiming a bounty on you is a bit childish. Since bounties are apart of the game. It's not like the bounty is placed on someone at complete random. It's usally because that player pissed off another player or NPC. Don't piss off other players like destroying their personal cars or stealing NPC's cars and you won't get a bounty. Actually, one idea I'm toying with is when I have enough money, place a bounty on very player on the current map or lobby. All at once. Then sit down at a tv to view the different players.
