GTA online weapon wheel idea

We can always suggest possible ideas to Rockstar so I wanted to get your guys thoughts on this idea here.

what if in GTA online our weapon wheel was limited to one weapon per slot.

this is how it works.

You buy whatever weapons you want at ammunition.

we purchase a safe. Maybe 3 different size options at different price ranges that we have in our apartment. We have to there and pick which weapon we want in each slot and that is what we are limited to in the open world.

thats the simple way to do it.

it could get fun and be a point system where you are able to carry a reasonable amount of small arms and assault rifles and even a basic sniper or marksman but then if you want to carry a heavy sniper around that takes more points so you might have not take a shot gun or rpg.

I think something pretty simple could be created that would be an awesome change in the pace of free roam and owned weapon death matches. rockstar could make money on selling us safes for our homes. we could even customize the lighting in them if they wanted to do that or something.

I would love something like this
too bad it would never happen, and if it did all the kids who play GTAO would have a cry about it because it makes griefing harder

I would far prefer it to flipping through three pistols, three shotguns and two SMGS to get at the ones I actually use.

Of course, it would be just as good for me to turn off weapon pickups, since I usually only have one weapon in each slot, except for heavy and thrown, and when I use those it's a preplanned move and I have time to select what I need. It's constantly picking up Assault Rifles, Pump Shotguns, Combat Pistols, and Micro SMGs that holds me up.

Have to buy a safe because I will lose guns, yeah, "GREAT idea" OP...

...they're not changing the game for that

Id prefer it if i could switch my weapons using right & left on the dpad like gta 4. I hate the weapon wheel to begin with. Everytime i get into a heated gun battle and im running that sh*t keeps popping up switching my weapons on its own.

Choosing Weapons no longer annoys me. Just one of those things you get used to doing if you need to change the Weapon in a particular class.

Good think your next five posts are going to be nice. Dick.

I actually kinda like the idea, hate when I have my Gusenberg equiped and the second I get out of my car I have the Micro SMG again. And yes, I've dropped most of my weapons, but still would like to have an arsenal in my house like that crazy sh*t from Men in Black.

Men_In_Black_3_Concept_Art_Raj_Rihal_19.

See what I mean? Didn't pay 300k dollars for a house that only works for drinking wine and watching TV.

I would convert my Heists Planning room for that in a heartbeat.

I like the OT. Too many weapons to carry at once currently.

What would you do before missions though? An option to access your safe before the game starts?

I would prefer MP3's gun system over this, but whatever. It's still better than cycling through 5 pistols just to get to the AP.

I would like this!

Able to store stuff like masks, armour, rpg...in my car (like Little Jacobs trunk on GTA IV).

Button prompt for weapon pickups

Visible guns, NO more magic pockets.

Able to drop all guns as default pistol, sweeper, musket...

Better armour not deplet when fall over.

Use of backpacks, duffelbags, holsters and slings.

Yeah, a limited inventory would definitely force players to be more calculating and thoughtful in their approach to combat. If it were one weapon per class? The choice for some would be obvious enough tho:

-MG class would most likely be combat MG or Micro SMG

-rifle would be person's favorite AR

-pistol would most likely be AP or Heavy

-shotgun would be the auto

For other classes tho, there's slightly more variety among the weapons, so choosing them would definitely change the way you fight, like choosing a minigun over RPGs, or The heavy sniper over the marksmen.

It would also make having a well balanced team more fun and creative. If you have a crew of you and 3 friends to fight or do missions, which one of you carries the stickybombs? Which one of you will make sure you have the homing missiles? Who's gonna keep the hammer with them >_>? Hm? All of those become important things to consider.

All in all, sounds like a better idea for GTA VI tho, as apposed to trying to change the current online game.

Exatly, have no idea why they changed the weapon system from GTAIV it was far from broken and like you said required some thoughtfulness.

With some of the changes and additions they've made and still continue to make it's hard to not think that they just add things for the sake of making GTAO seem like a more complete package to GTAIV multiplayer, with no consideration for balance (the bullet proof helmet being the most recent example of this). I'm dreading to see what unbalanced sh*t might come with the heist update, purchasable Hydras would be my biggest fear.

Sussus Amongus

Sounds like a fun idea. We would need seperate servers like free aim and auto aim for people that use this. They could enable it in the settings and such. My loadout would prob be Heavy Sniper, AP Pistol and a Crowbar or 25 Grenades.

How ever "broken" it might be, don't get me wrong tho; I LIKE the way the inventory is now with being able to switch up your weapon arsenal at the drop of a dime. It adds to the "do whatever you like, have it however to want it" feeling of free roam in a way.

But, what I am saying is that I would welcome a change it to this in future games, because this current setup isn't the best/only/right way to go. There are many other avenues and things that could create a totally wonderful gaming dynamic.

I've always been a fan of RPGs and RPG like elements (as in Role Playing Games) so somethin that would sorta create classes for a player to make important, meaningful choices is something is favor. I can still appreciate the way it alredy is tho.

Perhaps a system where you had an even more limited arsenal, such as just carrying 4 weapons (a main, a sub, a heavy artillery, and a grenade/melee) would be even more dynamic, where it challenges the player to fine tune their decision making instead of "going with the flow" all the time.

Also: I've been ignoring all discusions involving the hydra :/ I'm trying to pretend it doesn't exist and will neeeeever see the light of day lol.

The community is split enough as it is, think it would be better at this point to incorporate this into the next game where people would just have to accept the change instead of just joining empty lobbies in V since the majority will stick to the easier way.

I'm totally with you, I've had this cross my mind many times and wouldnt be surprised if others have also. I hate having to set my weapon wheel options the second I leave my garage.

I have resorted to dropping all weapons I don't want in my arsenal. I'll rebuy them if I really want them.

I also hate that I'm unable to drop the Firework launcher and Gatlin gun...those are precious seconds lost when I want my Combat MG or have to switch from RPG to Homing Missile Launcher or Granade Launcher.

Great addition to post man!

The one thing I want to add to this conversation is that people need to get used to idea that gta online is the beginning of something new. Gta 6 will surely come out but it is very likely to be its own thing. Gta online can continue to grow like Wow. I agree that choosing when to implement a change like this would be important.

- I also think there is no need for separate lobbies on this. It's still a very large arsenol you would be able to carry.

Good idea to keep most weapons elsewhere. However I would suggest in the trunk of your car. You'd have to go & get something else from there if you want to use it.

As for throwing weapons - I don't know how many pistols I've thrown away, you just pick them up accidentally from police / lost battles etc and WHY oh why can I not get rid of that horrible musket? I wish I'd known that before buying it!

I like the car trunk idea. Maybe if you are driving different cars you can only have x number of extra weapons

Bike - o

Car - 2

Truck - 4

Van -6

Too bad their game has already been released and is a major moneymaker, so it's unlikely these kinds of changes will ever be made.
