I don't know. They haven't caught up to my Banshee yet.

According to all the accusations of Cheating and endless complaints from other Player's during Deathmatches when I was finishing MVP with my 2nd Character (only up to Rank 52 now), Yes.

I had a Marksman's Rifle and Special Carbine during these Deathmatches from Rank 22 onward (when I bothered to Purchase them), enough said.

They have like half the health a high rank does and can't carry anything for armour.

If you get killed by a low rank you're just not doing it right.

True low ranks can't afford to spam explosives either.

I don't mind.

All of them should have rank requirements. I worked for my sh*t, they should do too.

Especially the homing launcher and the prox mines.

Yup, LVL 5's and proximities at LSC made me quit for awhile...

we still own them by health much, but i personaly woud realy suport it if all next dlc rank locked weapons are rank locked beyond level 120 and lower then level 700 and are in a way more powerfull then the guns we currently have in a sertain way:

just some ideas of my own:

- an 3-5 round sniper rifle that kills in one shot, even if it hits a foot or boddy armor.

- a single shot sniper rifle that fires explosive rounds that explode directly by impact, kinda the sh*t like when firing the lazer jet canon.(exept just one bullet)

-a handgun based on the s&w model 500 thats as powerfull as the pump shotgun but with no spread and slightly faster firerate(and thus 5 rounds)

-a double barrel shotgun that fires both rounds, has insane recoil but is one shot one kill(based one those crazy elephant guns in chabered in stuff like .600 nitro express....seriously, its not far fetched at all)

-an assault rifle based on the scar-h, it woud have like the damage and range of an combat mg in old gen, but a much higher firerate

-an mg based on the lwmmg, exact same stuff like the combat mg, but slightlymore range and and the damage laying between that of the combat mg and the marksman rifle

-an assautl rifle based on the AAC Honeybadger, thus it woud be automaticly supressed but woud have the second or third highest damage of all assautl rifles and slightly shorter range then average

-a smg based on the Kriss vector SMG, having the lowest firerate of all, but yet be the one with the most damage by quite a margin and have an average firerate

-a grenade launcher based on the xm25 that fires grenades kinda like the current grenade launcher does, but them actualy exploding directly by impact

-a 3 barrel shotgun(exists in real life) with the damage and range of the pump action shotgun, but firerate of the assautl shotgun

that being said though, exept for the damn new sniper rifle from the last team standing update,(wich is to OP overall in my opinion since it makes my heavy sniper nearly obsolete,) i kinda think low levels dont deserve to start with a pistols only

Unlike most other people that still know how those times sucked, besides the fact i for one do not wish new players to go trough the same bullsh*t, without atleast 1 autamatic weapon the real low levels are completely useless for having in a mission, even as an distraction for enemy npc's

Yeah its not fair. When i first started playing i had to work my ass off just to get the micro smg. Now all of the new players get snipers and rifles handed to them. All the new weapons especially the marksman rifle and heavy shotgun need to be level-locked.

I got no issues with it. Their lack of skill will be their downfall.

Basically this. they have access to great weapons but I can still take them down with the first assault rifle

Some of the weapons do deserve to be level locked

I don't know if it's fair but it goes against the whole rank unlock system R* set up

If you can't have an RPG until rank 100 you shouldn't get the homing missile until 110 or something.

At this point R* should just unlock all the weapons

There are still a lot of the new guys with only few weapons, because they are earning legit money. The ones I tend to see with these weapons also have Adders and Zentornos, because they got Cash Cards for Christmas, or they learned a trick or two from their favourite Youtubers. I keep hearing talk of car dups on next-gen. I even got an SMS invite to do one, so... Rank Lock, I say.

Regardless of weapon it only takes one well placed bullet to kill somebody so it doesn't bother me. Plus it gives new people a chance to fight back against the high level trolls.

No, they're not...

Simple fact is, people starting now are going to be at a multi-hundred level disadvantage if the session matching is as useful as it ever is..

Trust me, no matter what they have or how they use it, they're still nowhere near having the advantage of the RPG/Heavy Sniper/Mini Gun etc, which quite frankly are more than capable of rendering low level players completely defenceless in combat. Even this morning I was at least 20+ vs 0 in a lobby because no-one else had the heavy sniper... and it wasn't particularly trolling either, some of the tards were actually moving towards me/sending 1v1 invites when dying...

I agree, my theory is that it is R*'s way of balancing the free-roam lobbies.

It makes it so that new players are less likely to be continuously spawn-killed by more experienced players with better weapons.

If you just got the game and had to survive with just a standard pistol and maybe one light-armour vest (and low shooting accuracy) would you enjoy being in free-roam?

Misanthrope Z

they're definitely not OP

sure, some of the weapons they get sort of defeat the purpose of ranking up to get certain rank locked weapons (e.g stinger missile rendering the standard RPG pretty much pointless)

however, a few explosives and a few fancy MGs aren't going to fight their battles for them. their health stat is strictly attached to their rank, so if they're low ranked, just about any gun can rip through them like wet tissue.

and they'll likely be at a disadvantage when cars are brought into the mix. engine upgrades and turbo tuning require race wins. :beerhat:

Don't care.

It's their game and as long as they don't disturb me, I don't give a f*ck.

If I meet them in mission, then it's good to have better guns in my team. If they die in that mission, I wouldn't give a f*ck either because I don't expect much from low levels.

Lets see... New characters have less health, are less accurate, have no armour, have no money for ammo, still lack some of the best weapons (heavy sniper, assault shotty), have slower cars, no BP tires, no Pegasus vehicles (Tank, Buzzard) and are typically less experienced in online combat.

Then there's you, with all the weapons, max health, full body armour, a tank, a fully upgraded Zentorno, full ammo, and much more playtime than the new guy complaining that they're overpowered... All because you didn't have access to the bullpup rifle at the start of online. When everybody was new and nobody had good weapons or money. I say give the noobs the DLC weapons, it'll at least give them a chance against high-level trolls.

I wish they'd get rid of the level caps on the other lower weapons like the Carbine Rifle and SMGs, they're sadly nothing compared to the OP DLC weapons yet they're the ones that are level locked? How ironic...

ill quote myself from a similar topic as my view remains the same...

...some here may know that whenever this debate popup here i always advocate in favor of the low levels, this was the case when the debate started back when the special carbine was made available for everyone, samething with the marksman rifle, yes we had to work our way up to unlock guns but this far into the game is hard to be a low level with a piston and a smg, therefor having the special carbine and marksman rifle only helps to maintain some balance.

now when it comes to the homing launcher/proximity mines... i just cant find a favorable argument for low levels to have access to such weapons.

both homing launcher and proximity mines should be level locked.

i'd lock the mines somewhere around rank 110, the homing launcher being such an op beast should be locked at a minimum 150.

Just pointing out a simple fact. This is the reason why content from updates aren't level locked. BTW no one forced you to converse with me, did they?

Just like no one forced you to comment in this thread? I'm just tired of people ruining every single dicussion by making it about cash cards. And quite frankly, NO ONE wants to hear that.

I honestly don't think its a major issue. If the player is truly new to the game, they will struggle even with top tier guns at their disposal. The ones that can take full advantage of such weapons are those that have experience from a past character.

I started up a second PSN account to get a new character. I maxed out all of the characters Skills and was out there owning. The only thing that caused some trouble is not having proper explosives to combat Zenterno spammers and RPG spammers. Also, low ammo and no extended clips put me at a disadvantage. The cost of a bulletproof helmet is a lot as a low rank along with the Homing Rocket Launcher.

Too OP? Higher ranked players are still at a big advantage.

I think the DLC weapons should remain available to everyone, f*ck that useless ass Lamar pistol.
