Has any one else noticed that GTA San Andreas is incredibly more entertaining than GTA V.

From the vast amount of side activities, the better cars, and the hilariously horrible physics San Andreas makes out for a much much better game than GTA V, anyone out there agree with me?

Five is all flashy chrome, it appears as was Four to be an experiment in 'pretty'. So they gave up game Playing to look good.

San Andreas is a Game to be Played. To allow the Player to think of what weapons, vehicle, and approach to the problem is best. You can Explore and be rewarded with FREE weapons and body armour.

You have no choices in Five, you must use what limited weapon and vehicle the game has chosen, you follow the route laid out, you watch the movie as the game sets up the attack. You are then permitted to point the weapon and fire it.

So, while there is a lot of space (not worth exploring because there is really nothing to find beyond pretty views) you really don't have much to do.

San Andreas allows for an easy comfortable beginning. You decide when you want to start missions.

Five dumps the Player into a vicious fire-fight before you even know what is going on AND you must complete it and a chase before you are free to roam. A most unpleasant way to begin learning 'new' controls.

agree with you lil weazel, gta v dumps you inmediatly to the action, and often when you go your safehouse ''oh god, another mission'' and cars are limited, weapons too, not just like san andreas, when you're tired of action go free roam, nothing of phone call that only says you to go and start another mission, and as you said, Gta V map is large but nothing good to do, just simply stay and watch.

As i had way more fun with San Andreas. Also San Andreas itself is way more fun than V. San Andreas will be always remembered as one of the best GTAs and one of the best games ever made. The game of the generation, PS2 era, gold days. But it will never get old. Once great game, always great game. New games and GTAs should learn some things from San Andreas. It bringed too much new things and improved the old things that even the newer games didn't achieved. Not talking like noob fans such as 'where is jetpack, where's cj?', but this is the truth. Long live SA.

Sorry, I loved San Andreas as a kid but grown up it seems as if it tries to go quantity over quality in my eyes.

Actually it has quality AND quantity if we are talking for it's time. And fun, doesn't count with quality or quantity, it's own thing. Why some people can't understand this?

SA isn't more fun than V, OP. I checked.

Opinions. For me it is way more fun. San Andreas is for it's time better than V for this time, so. That's how we can compare old and new games. We can't do it directly. V is still one of the best, but it wasn't perfect as many people expected to be. IV is better than V IMO. It all depends of opinions.

Besides, quality and quantity is more of a one or the other statement. You can't add a new option into there.

Quality = more fun

Quantity = more things to do

I agree , san andreas is way more fun compared to v .. the soundtrack of SA is superior to that of V and i think im the only one that feels this way but the cars of v all feel the same and they are kinda boring to customize. .its like you go to ls custom and create a generic vehicle . SA the customization was way better , they had decals and hydrolics and everything ! Also it isnt fun and V when you are going into other gang neighborhoods with no consequence, i loved SA because it really captured La gang life because they would gun for you on sight lol . One more thing , the police of V suck , its scary to commit a crime because thats like a instant death sentence , they are like gangs and shoot on sight , why so gun ho ? San andreas just felt so natural with the way it was and gta v feels rushed ..

Quality & Quantity?

In SA you can find all the weapons and body armour you want, FREE.

You can in many missions choose a weapon or vehicle different from the one the mission implies you must use. And, sometimes you can chose a different approach.

In Five you use what you got (and be happy about it) or don't do the mission at all.

In Five you get to watch a movie, drive to the scene, and watch another movie. Then the game requires you to do a certain path to finish it. No chose. No Fun.

Actually you can get every weapon for free also in GTA V also, if you don't count for example the collectors edition and some DLC weapons that have showed up which by the way are given for free too.

But I must agree that the game is too much scripted and going out of the mission choices is very limited.

Becoming a better game than GTA SA is a very hard mission but I must say GTA V has some nice improvements beyond the graphics and has improved a lot the gaming experience since GTA IV, but then again not enough in my opinion to dethrone San Andreas.

I spent a few hours looking about and other than being mauled by a puma I haven't found any Free Floating Weapons.

So, as they exist they are nowhere as easy to locate as in SA.

This is probably the very first instance in my forum 'career' I will disagree with you. When comparing SA against V, you should look at all the features both games have to offer. Freedom in V is more enhanced, that's for sure. While I agree with on you on V's brutal scripted missions, V offers a more interesting variety in missions. When I first played SA, I never thought years later I will rappel down a building in a GTA game, or rob a bank by brute force and going against the cops head-on. Comparing the quantity of weapons that can be found all around the map between these 2 games isn't the way to compare the quality of the games themselves. Not only technically, but even quality and quantity-wise, V offers more. Through SA is more fun to explore, and as I said, SA offers more freedom when engaged in missions.

Forgot to answer. SA also had amount of quality in it's features, anyway Quantity = more things to do = more things to explore = more fun. I (like many more people) enjoyed SA's features that are also unique and fun to do.

@Th3MaN1 As you said, V has many things made in linear way, that one of things i don't like about V.

Yeah definitely San Andreas 4life the real question for the real lovers of this game is how many times have you just played SA just for the fun of revisiting this game? And even more important do you believe you will have the urge to play it over and over again??? Me, HELL YEAH, I see myself to always wanting to return to San Andreas, yet I have completed GTA V twice now and the last few times I played it I had that stupid feeling of "are we there yet" LOLOLOL wanting for the pain to stop :sui: .

It's true that my last 100% San Andreas gameplay took me months to complete of course I "had" to start all over half the way because of a glitch, and getting all the unique vehicles, plus recording the gameplay also contributed to the extensive time, and when I finally finished it I was like "DAMN I don't want to see your ugly face again" :yee: but a week later I was already having fun with the game again, and really every now and then I go and play it for a few hours even in between GTA V gameplays. :pp

I'm agree with you,i like GTA SA more than other gta's game.actually i'm haven't played GTA 5 before because i don't have any console except my old laptop.but i always watch the gta 5 gameplay on youtube. And,it look so cool with realistic graphic.but,GTA SA still the best for me.i'm enjoyed playing it especially when using cheat to mess with people and police, stunts, and much more that don't make me feel bored to playing gta sa.

He didn't say that he doesn't like gta v, he just said that he likes gta sa more than v. Imo SA is still the best

Well I completed GTA V more than SA. Infact I didn't technically finish SA as I never done "End Of The Line", but did get up just before it. I don't know why I never went to the end considering I was almost done.

Anyway I think they both kind of suffer a similar identity crisis problem and don't really excel at anything specifically. If I'm being honest SA was much more impressive for its time as nothing else like that had been tried before.

However I prefer simplicity and focus which is why I consider GTA IV, VC and to an extent GTA III to be better games than both SA and GTA V.

are you kidding?

I personally like San Andreas over V for one reason; the cheats.

The cheats in V aren't all that fun; Invincibility for only 5 minutes? What?
The cheats in San Andreas however are cool, unlike V you can use them in missions too!

Some cheats from San Andreas:
HESOYAM - Health, Armor, and 250k right off the bat.
BAGUVIX - Limited Invincibility - Can Die from explosions or fall damage, but atleast it's not limited to 5 minutes!
AEZAKMI - Never Wanted - I've always wondered why this wasn't in other GTA's.
AIWPRTON, JUMPJET, KGGGDKP, ROCKETMAN, FLYINGTOSTUNT - Cheats for spawning Tanks, Hydras, Vortexs, Jetpack and Stunt Plane, not much Vehicle Spawning Cheats in V, nor IV for that matter.

Now for some fun cheats:
AJLOJYQY - Peds fight each other, get a golf club.
BAGOWPG - Have a bounty on your head.
FOOOXFT - Everybody's armed.
BLUESUEDESHOES - Elvis is everywhere!

CJPHONEHOME - Super Bunny Hops.
STATEOFEMERGENCY - Riot Mode.

San Andreas has so many fun cheats to mess around with, some being game breaking (such as Riot Mode) but nevertheless fun, IV, V and such just aren't fun in the way of cheats, and even in V they LIMITED the cheats, what's the fun in that?

What happened to the ILIKEDRESSINGUP cheat? IV has twice the amount of peds as SA, and tons of customization for the peds as well, yet cannot be utilized by the player without a trainer in singleplayer or multiplayer where you get seperate models (why the hell did they give us seperate models instead of letting us pick and customize?)

GTA IV killed SA already, and V basically killed it again.

Honestly doubt you played V so much, you can explore in V, and you CAN get weapons and armour for free.

Limited weapons? Lolwhat???

SA had 39 weapons, and 2 of them being available only via cheats, and many of them being repeated melee weapons, GTA V on the other hand, had 38 but you could modify them, tints, scopes, silencers, extended clips, flashlight modifications, you could have multiple weapons in 1 slot which was another plus, far from realistic, but it isn't much more realistic in SA.

Also, there was literally no point where you couldn't switch the weapon you're using except for a very few.

And that movie thing where it sets up a route and everything, you don't actually have to follow the route on the GPS, and most importantly, it was like that in SA anyway.

Also, nothing to explore? Come on, it had way more to explore than SA, the woods in SA felt dead, bland, generic, et cetera et cetera.

Easy and comfortable beginning? Err what? That's really, really minor. It's been like that in GTA III and nobody complained, and there isn't a chase in the beginning, you actually have to follow the guy. Come on, don't tell me you don't have 5 minutes spare to complete the first two missions.

Although I like SA, it was never my favourite GTA.
