How come Single Player gets no love?

I guess if you like the vehicles, having a lot of weapons, the updates so far have been fine. Not some filler which isn't worth it. The DLC will come for SP and it'll be huge, online will always be bigger though, there's no changing that for V.

I thought I read The Benz or Houser saying they'll do single player DLC but it wont be episodic like EFLC. Nothing that big. Can anyone clarify this?

And if they do release SP DLC, I doubt it will be out until Christmas this year. I'm sure they'll want sales for PS4/XB1/PC, have most fans up to spec and then dish it out. Right now it's like a mess with PS3/360 PS4/XB1 and no PC yet. All the fans are divided amongst 4 platforms, soon to be 5.

I saw a video on youtube where the voice actors of Michael, Franklin and Trevor were asked if a single player DLC was in the works. And Ned Luke the voice actor of Michael replied that they can't say anything about this topic because of Rockstar. If there were no plans for a single player DLC, Ned Luke could have said this. There is no point in keeping quiet about something that is not worked on.

Sorry, I didn't mean to direct my comment at you about people being really defensive of the game. I was speaking in general terms.

As for RDR, I wasn't talking about animals specifically. I'm talking about the trend of focusing attention of online instead of SP, I don't want to happen to the next RDR... This massive online world with not so much to do in SP.

Well, I don't feel like V's SP lacks content, I understand that you're worried about MP taking over SP completely, but as a fan who have been playing GTA for almost a decade I don't see that ever happening to the series anytime soon.

I actually think people are putting GTA Online in a wrong light, actually it could be a good thing for the series in the future. People keep forgetting that it's meant to be a separate game and that R* will keep expanding it in the future. That probably means that R* won't make an entire MP for VI and so will have more time to work on SP. They will either just port over GTA Online to VI or add VI's content to it on V. We don't know what R* will do in the future but if they do the right things and choises, GTA Online could end up being actually useful for both SP and MP players.

I think he meant the style, it being exclusive to one console. Maybe I'm wrong, I'm just guessing. I'm sure it will be big because the complaints, when someone slaves over something for 5 years they do take them personally, but also want as many people to like the game as possible. Also because there is a lot of SP fans still, online has a lot of players but SP isn't dead in GTA yet. If they are stupid they don't know about any of the complaints. They're far from stupid when it comes to making money, trying to sell something really big and exciting is easier for fans who demand quality, rather than 6 new assassination missions. If they take any feedback on board, a huge SP DLC is guaranteed. If not, they won't be as profitable as they used to be. So yeah that's why I think the DLC will be big anyway lol

An announcement this year would be enough for me, release before Christmas I guess.

VI sure will get its own multiplayer with the new map. However, Rockstar can copy and paste all the content, menus and missions. The question is whether the player can use both maps the new one and V's map with his character at once.

There you go again. You're demonizing the fans in some desperate attempt to shield R* from any form of criticism. Us fans only wish to have some of our hopes come true, and it's up to R* to make the games. If there is to be any major improvement for the series in the future, we must speak our piece to let R* know what does and doesn't work. Of course, sometimes the criticism leads to the exact opposite end of the spectrum, so in some cases we should speak again in hopes that they'll find a reasonable balance that would please both parties.

I fail to see how any of that warrants the blame being put on us by you.

GTA as a franchise is on its way to become the new VALVE of gaming, only in the form of a game...the online is bringing them money and the fact that the heist is coming soon cements the very foundation. There will be no major expansion pack or ''DLC'' until the the heist phenomenon wears off and its long time coming.

And i can sign and stamp the fact that the next major DLC will also be a solid front for another online addition. Every other major publisher is already on this game, EA (FIFA franchise) UBIsoft (assassin's creed) the list goes on. Its the new trend turning into a culture in gaming. I've to say this with a heavy heart that there will be a time when the singleplayer exp. will turn into a niche market possibly limited to few console exclusives.

Edit: Typo

Rockstar assumes that "the more the merrier". However, I play games for the immersion factor; to feel like I actually am part of this universe. When there's other players shooting at you with AK's, tanks, and fighter jets, that immersion really falls apart.

By ignoring singleplayer, they are basically shunning away immersion players like myself.

THIS OH THIS SO MUCH THIS I WILL FIND YOU AND KISS YOU.

I want an online part for V where you actually feel like a small-time criminal in dark, gritty settings instead of a childish, unrealistic maniac

I think we all can agree on that there is a SP DLC coming, we don't know when, but I think it will be huge due to all the resent talks and such about it.

This.

I've noticed this before, woggleman seems to have taken some vow to defend R* at all cost. Its been going on for quite some time now. Maybe he got overwhelmed by V so much that he thinks dear R* are the most caring and straightforward developer on Earth.

It's not about R being caring. They just do what a business naturally does. After the reaction to IV and the EFLC this is the natural next step for a business that wants stay successful. That is all I am saying.

Luckily if VI is sh*t, a game where nobody likes the SP, every SP fan, we'll know before we spend our money. You can always tell. Does it have a big Hollywood actor, with a cast trailer, showing the actor saying "the graphics are amazing"?

A teaser trailer for a teaser trailer followed by a pre order trailer with 200 different pre order items from different shops.

A big presentation at E3 showing 4 minutes of the most exciting part of the game. "A brand new gameplay experience, featuring our deepest story yet, and there's beard DLC coming! (EA at E3 for medal of honor) :O

Every trailer, especially the 1st 2 are for online, with a story trailer later in the year. Maybe it gets a Lego spin off, a movie staring Christian slater as a father who's family has been kidnapped. He has to get them back by stealing cars and being generally naughty, rated pg-13/12A. Then we can all start to worry and get violent with them :p

Sadly, you're probably right. I cannot picture any single player DLC being any more than 8-12 hours in length with a few vehicles and slapped on minigames. Nothing to the quality of EFLC. They have their baby now.

It would seem that way, but Rockstar likes to keep people in suspense. Take for example them not confirming the release of GTA V on PS4/XBO even though we all knew it would come out. They didn't confirm it though so they could maximize their profits for last gen.

You've got a funny way of showing it, then. Next time, try not to place the blame on the fans and just say that R*'s a business. It won't come across as holier than thou, in that case.

Official General

I am blaming the fans because they same things they want now were not appreciated by the fans when we got them. They want a long and serious story but only about thirty percent of people actually completed the story. They want great SP DLC but great SP DLC for IV sold very poorly. The reason it sold poorly was because people were in full backlash mode against IV the same way they are with V. It's like a woman who constantly complains that there are no good men but all she ever seems to be into are players and men who mistreat her. Many gamers are like that woman. If we want something then support it when you get it. Demand creates supply. If R for one minute thought a DLC in the vein of EFLC would break sales records it would have been released already.

You haven't got any real evidence this stuff really was the case. That thing about only 30 percent of people completing the story in IV were from results of a survey from a sample of a a few hundred or one thousand at best Xbox 360 gamers only - I checked that ages ago when someone tried to use it in argument with on here before. Secondly, like I said earlier, 360 gamers are mostly into shooters like Halo, Gears, etc, not games like GTA. That 30 percent stuff is not credible, so therefore I disregard it. I'm pretty sure the majority of GTA fans who played IV completed the story at varying times since the game's release. I can't definitively prove that they did, and you cannot definitely prove that they did not. So arguing about that or using it to lend credibility to you argument is pointless.

I think in the long run, EFLC did well, many GTA fans have either owned it or played it by now, at least from what I've seen. Like I said already, it was the 360 exclusivity that messed up EFLC's chances of instant commercial success. Take Two even admitted that. Since then, EFLC surely has sold a decent amount.

Rockstar's products will get massively supported if they live up to or exceed their expectations - there is no doubt about that. We've seen evidence of this in the III-era when III was a hit, VC was a massive hit, and SA was a colossal hit. Next installment exceeding the last. Not so in the HD era. If Rockstar can get that III-era formula back again, then yeah they will supported like they have been never supported before. If they f*ck up and don't deliver, then they will be criticized and bashed, it's as simple as that - but GTA's brand name ensures they still make millions upon millions. Why you always wanna dedicate your blood, sweat and tears defending is a mystery to me.

Seriously, drop your dumb woman analogies for GTA fans, it's stupid, makes no sense, and it's old now. And it's getting boring.

Hey zombies would be more interesting than any free roam activity currently available and more dinamic than going against the one dimentional, never ending spawn police.

The dlc could easily fix some of the issues in sp.

-Add online garage system

-lester perks

-Online inventory

-fix cops? And add new stuff to them. It could easily be explained. "LS cops have received many complaints so we are now training them in a new way blah blah"

Add whatever story mode they are planning to do and a few cars/weapons here and there.

I would be really happy with that^

I really want Gang Hideouts from Online to be added to Single Player. Give them some sort of background and reward for clearing them/completing all of them. Those were fun as hell in RDR.
