I think when the SP DLC arrives it'll be really big, have loads of new things, excite some, enrage others, sell like sh*t and VI becomes only only. Possibly. Or it has all the things everyone missed and reinvigorates the games popularity. New things equals new opportunities to complain so there's that too. To be released in the next 7 or 8 years.

Imagine, a day on these forums where the phrase "lack of activities" isn't used :O

I would like to believe what you say is true, honestly. But with Rockstar's recent track record, not likely.

I'm going by IV's DLC, still the best SP DLC ever I think, or red dead redemptions, that was Really good too, even if it was zombies. Obviously it can't have everything everyone wants because there would be unicorns in the game (I saw a post on the support site, genuinely asking for unicorns)

I'm sure it'll have some bits people want, other things people don't want probably. It can't be small thing, rockstar aren't as retarded as some think, they would lose more than a few fans if they didn't do something big with SP, they probably do know that. That shark card money may be funding something wonderful. Or an alien thing, I hope not.

I prefer SP but R are just adapting to the times. People who are only SP are pretty much dinasours at this point and if you don't keep up with the times you fail.

Then I fail with GTA if that's the main direction Rockstar takes the series. If that happens, then you can consider my GTA days as they are now, over with. That's the day I stop taking an interest in the series.

It's as simple as that for me.

I understand why you feel that way but there are thousands of casual players to take your place and that is how R sees it.

Bro, don't get carried away with my comment. I'm not making a statement to, or taking a stand against Rockstar. I am fully aware of the fact that they are a multi-million dollar company and that I'm just merely one of their millions of customers - I don't need to you to remind me of that. My threats and warnings to finally lose interest with GTA if it becomes more online-orientated have nothing to do with me getting my own back on Rockstar, or trying to get one over them. I don't care if I'm replaced by another GTA fan, and I don't care about how Rockstar view the situation. I'm just making a truthful point of what my reaction would be if future GTAs become online-dominated over SP. That's all it is.

ok, so you said your gta days will be, as they are now, over with? how are your gta days over with if i've never visited this forum without seeing a post by you? anyway, i agree that there was a palpable lack of focus in the single player. there were a lot of ideas that felt like they weren't followed through on all the way(running businesses, namely.) and ideas that seemed obvious but weren't there at all(gang hideouts/wars). but, hopefully the single player dlc will be good, as was the rest of the single player. also, vice city is great. playing it right now.

Right now I'm just playing IV+EFLC again, it's the only GTA game I play right now. I haven't touched V properly since March 2014. I do get many snippets of spare time in my job, and nicely pass it away on GTA Forums on my iPhone

I still like to discuss GTA though. I'm hoping V will improve with more additions for SP or SP DLC, and I hope the next GTA is in VC and much better than V and IV together. If not by then, I'm probably gonna really lose interest in the series, even discussing it.

oh, you meant playing V. i thought you meant you quit the series entirely. which would be a bummer. man, i forgot just how good IV is until recently. i hope they put out the older gta's on ps4 soon. sold my 360 before i got the playstation. would be cool if they put all the 3d era gta's out in one package. then, put out a port of IV/EFLC. and then, eventually, hopefully they'll follow through on the DLC for V, lol.

Nah man, I hope I don't quit the series. I'm still a big GTA fan, regardless of Rockstar's colossal f*ck up with V. What I meant was that if GTAs in the future continue to become more online-orientated and the SP suffers badly as a result, then I would definitely lose interest in the series. I still got my PS3, I'm not selling or giving it away, so I can play IV+EFLC, and I'm getting a PS4 hopefully this week. I just hope that the next GTA is much better than V this time, it's SP is the main focus and last but not least, set in VC.

You think it was really that bad of a f*ck up? I thought it was a great game that just had a ton of missed opportunities. but, yeah, i'd have to say i'm in the same boat. i really don't like the way they talk about gta online and it's future.

They could atleast give us some of the clothes in Online to buy in single player. I want to cruise around in a Roosevelt with Franklin, Micheal, and Trevor all in Pinestripe suits. Seriously, whats wrong with adding clothes to single player?

Because most players finish the campaign and disappear to GTAO for good.

From a commercial standpoint online has been very successful. People here might not like it but it is very popular and at the end of the day numbers matter. We live in an era where online gaming is very popular and while I prefer SP I can either stay stuck in the past and get left behind or I can live in the here and now. I choose to do the latter instead of wanting gaming to back to 2003 because it never will. Those days are over and gone.

I don't get the feeling that V Online is as popular as it was when it first came out. I honestly believe most GTA fans are not engrossed or hyped with it anymore. I know this site just represents a fraction of GTA fans, but it still offers a snapshot of general opinions - everyone here seems to be shouting for SP DLC and other SP stuff. Most people here are not trying to hear about more bullsh*t online 'goodies'. I reckon most GTA fans have this mindset.

I know whenever I do go online it is always packed lobbies. I can go from lobby to lobby and it is packed. I do agree that SP should get more stuff though.

In terms of the huge potential the game failed to realized, yes, it is my opinion that Rockstar colossally f*cked up V.

Rockstar with their online are like those people with stupid ugly babies but who think their babies are clever and adorable and insist on posting pictures of their ugly babies on facebook.

Or somethin' like that.

I sort of do as well but these days a game having no online is like an artist refusing to release music on iTunes. We are not in 2004 anymore.

Gosh woggleman, do you always have to make a habit of defending V or Rockstar in every sentence ? Wow.

The guy said he missed the days when GTA was just about SP only and not online, he's not trying to talk about how important online is 'these days' is he ? Surely you can read, why do you need to make such a pointless comment in V/Rockstar's defence once again ?

Pretty much all the GTAs on PC are optimized horribly. I think it's ok that they are finally taking their time with V. However, they shouldn't just drop release dates, re confirm them, and then add a new release date the week after. Like, really, just say "it will be done when it's done". It's annoying.

Then again, not giving release dates would make PC gamers think that R* is forgetting about them anyways, so yeah.

Well, with the heists APPARENTLY getting released in March, hopefully it means that the SP DLC becomes the top priority.

I hope so. Still gonna be awhile before we hear anything, as I think they're gonna let heists ride out for awhile.

^ I would hope that the DLC would be bigger and better than TLAD or TBoGT. If it's merely the size of RDR's Undead Nightmare after all this time, I would be supremely disappointed.

Rockstar assumes that "the more the merrier". However, I play games for the immersion factor; to feel like I actually am part of this universe. When there's other players shooting at you with AK's, tanks, and fighter jets, that immersion really falls apart.

By ignoring singleplayer, they are basically shunning away immersion players like myself.

Play SP without the map and simple weapon target. Simple. It's one of the most immersive games yet imo.

Didn't Dan Houser hint about the SP DLC earlier by saying they don't intend to do the DLC on the scale of IV?

If he did, then the DLC should either be - simply an additional content upon the current game than a separate DLC entirely. If that happens, I wonder won't the install size be an issue on last gen, esp. 360 version, or - a seaparate DLC featuring new missions which have got nothing to do with the story.

If I have to guess, then its likely the latter.

^ If it's going to be small, why the hell are we still waiting for it? Undead Nightmare was good because it came out just over five months after RDR released, whereas it's been almost 18 months since V released without any sort of preview. Seriously, R* better had not been sitting on their asses with this DLC.

Maybe because Dan wasn't particular clear about what exactly he meant when he said about not being on par with the IV episodes. But I do know he did say something like that.

As for RDR, the game didn't feature a separate ONLINE world, nor PC version and its different when it comes to managing things on such massive scale and scope with V.

Though they should have spoken something regarding to the SP DLC by hinting some previews of it, or the details about the progress.

Because us Singletons don't give extra money to Rockstar. Companies love being greedy, Companies don't like tight people who won't spend extra money. It's a shame really, how Game Companies dont seem to care anymore about people who can only afford the game itself.
