How come Single Player gets no love?

Instead, we get the leftovers from GTA Online's Updates.

Why can't we get the extra masks that are in GTA Online?

No new clothes have been added to Single Player yet...

Why can't we use a few of Lester's abilities when calling him up if you are playing as Franklin, Michael or Trevor? Not all of them but the abilities like... (Lose Wanted Level fast and Cops Turn Blind Eye for a few minutes)

This reminds me of when someone who plays Online complains about Online not getting love because animals, jumbo jets, railguns, etc still haven't been added.

Apart from the weapons, vehicles, parachutes, the interaction menu, the current gen stuff. It's a miracle it got any of that, compared to other games, how IV's SP wasn't completed a by a lot of people and I'm guessing V's wasn't either. Online is big, and unfortunately more people play it, a lot more.

SP DLC is coming apparently, it'll most likely have all the bigger things, missions, new features. Then again it could be 5 missions or alien invasion stuff, let's hope not. When is something nobody knows.

The biggest reason is no doubt - GTA Online!

It saddens me when I see more and more players shifting focus towards ONLINE as there isn't interesting a lot about the SP of V like the odd jobs, missions, and features available for online world. I wouldn't really blame the players either for getting bored with SP too quickly rather Rockstar for dividing the fan base in two separate game worlds than any normal multiplayer would've worked as an optional entertainment with friends fully functional BUT built over the BASE game, without dividing the base features into separate games of their own entirely.

So yeah, THE GARBAGE! sh*tTY! GTA ONLINE is the root cause. As there's currently a big emphasis on making the ONLINE gaming experience much better contrary to the roots of the series that made GTA SP so much fun!!!!

f*ck u GTA:O!!

Because SP isn´t their main focus anymore. We have to deal with it.

That´s just the way it is. Thinking about why is pointless. I stopped playing V, because I won´t touch Online. If the SP DLC comes, I will see how it is - if it seems to be good, I´ll return to V.

Your single player got 3+ years of "love", five pre-release trailers and millions of sales. You can't play the same singleplayer over and over, that's why we have online. Move the f*ck on, OP.

We've been asking this question since the damn game came out a year and a half ago.

I think Doctor Ray gave the best answer. We'll just have to resign ourselves to the fact that Rockstar will probably no longer view SP as GTA's main focus anymore. Which is a tragic shame, seeing as SP is what made GTA the legendary series it became in the first place. But it seems Rockstar have sold out to jump on the online MP badwagon that seems to be the rage of the industry these days, blindly ignoring the fact that a game like GTA will never realize it's full potential in online mode.

Sad but true OG. I hope there is a new and upcoming Wide Open Sandbox series in the near future, that captures that magic of what GTA used to be about.

Thoughts?

Yeah i hope so too bro - if not that, the current crop of Rockstar North staff gets replaced by much better staff with much better ideas and talent.

Either that, or they bring back the team that made the 3D era, and GTA IV games. That's what I think anyway.

Cause you can't make money off singleplayer.

Relax, when the PC version is out you'll probably be able to use GTA Online models in singleplayer.

I prefer SP but R are just adapting to the times. People who are only SP are pretty much dinasours at this point and if you don't keep up with the times you fail.

haha 3 years of love? Are you kidding me? Only reason they created SP is they can't sell GTA without SP. I can't see this 3 years of love, because we still have boring single player with nothing to do. Ok, you can cruise around and kill people, play tennis, or do yoga.

Do you ever make a constructive post about V? Or do you just bitch about it because you didn't enjoy V when millions did?

If you have a good imagination you can think of more things to do in V. Nah, you probably don't have a good imagination though.

I see you didn't explain how the sales and trailers have anything to do with the replay-ability or the quality of the SP many are objecting to and what could have been improved upon.

And about - "You can't play the same singleplayer over and over"

I say, "Shut up! Speak for yourself"

The point is not why they have this ONLINE GTA but the manner in which they are focusing on it; unlike the normal multiplayer where there's no trade-off between the efforts that'll result in changes affecting the state of one mode of gaming experience negatively in favor of the other.

In all honesty V has been more supported than any other single player in recent years, and more so than IV, I know IV had the stellar EFLC by this time, but we're still to get the SP DL C, and we've already received a lot of free content.

Tell me another single player which has had as much stuff added for free, or supported as much?

Then I fail with GTA if that's the main direction Rockstar takes the series. If that happens, then you can consider my GTA days as they are now, over with. That's the day I stop taking an interest in the series.

It's as simple as that for me.

Rockstar assumes that "the more the merrier". However, I play games for the immersion factor; to feel like I actually am part of this universe. When there's other players shooting at you with AK's, tanks, and fighter jets, that immersion really falls apart.

By ignoring singleplayer, they are basically shunning away immersion players like myself.

As much as I loathe the fact, online multiplayer is the future. It highly appeals to the casual crowd, and casual gamers vastly outnumber those of us who require a decent story and set of characters with our games. I know people who have a permanent hard on for GTA:O, yet they haven't even touched single player.

I'm calling it now: GTA VI will be a digital only game that can't be played unless you're online. Every mission will force co op on you.

Three years of that "love" were cut and moved to GTA Online.

God, you're all f*cking pathetic. You saw GTAV advertised, you saw it and bought it. You played it, and now that you're bored you expect R* to keep feeding you singleplayer content until you get bored of that. R* never said they'd support the singleplayer for years and years like you think you're all f*cking entitled to. Did they support GTA3? No. Did they support Vice City? No. Did they support San Andreas? You guessed it, no.

And you all accuse the GTAO community of being whiney children. Pathetic.

Don't be ridiculous. The whiney children are the most mature segment of the GTA Online community. Just look at all the "kid trolling" videos on YouTube.

Generally speaking it's pretty naive to expect any $60 game to be worth the money.

GTAO generates steady revenue stream in the form of shark cards, SP is not. And R* is using every technique to monetize it's product.

Yes I made constructive post about V many many times, you are just too lazy to find it.

I really hope you just joking about imagination. If not, then our discussion doesn't make any sense. Maybe just sit and play GTA 1 because if you have good imagination you can imagine beautiful graphics with infinite possibilities?

If GTA V would be as good as they advertised it then it would be fantastic.

Just a couple of years would be fine for me ;)

Iirc, they did promise some SP dlc during 2014 - http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/12/09/substantial-gta-5-story-dlc-coming-in-2014

They also did promise Heists and PC release for 2014, so go figure it...
