I use to watch "Future Weapons" cause I thought it was a badass show and it was also when Discovery use to have good shows on. Nowadays, the only thing that I watch on Discovery is Deadliest Catch. Love that show.

 

On topic, I'm glad the OP made this thread. When I saw the leaked pic of this heli.. I immediately had some leakage in places... if you know what I mean.

 

I want the attack heli too but this... this heli is probably what I'm going to buy first. If I could, I would sell my buzzard just to get this and the new attack heli. I can't wait for all these cool toys that are coming with the heists!

I do not want to be an antithesis. It is just that the machine guns on the buzzard and annililator suc. The guns lack range and have no explosive shells, like the Lazer.

But I will probably buy it just because I have nothing else to blow it on.

What does worry me, is that there is no photo from the hind.

The guns 'suck' because they are pilot operated and only fire in the direction of the nose, so in order to aim at ground targets, the pilot has to either nose dive, therefore limiting the time window to 1-2 sec max, or descend to street level and risk hitting poles/etc.. That effectively makes the guns useless against ground targets.

Passenger operated side mounted guns which swivel would be much more effective - especially against the AI, and would be effective against both ground and air vehicles. They would also be way more rewarding as opposed to insta-kill rockets.

Yep, that is what I mean. The helicopters are wobbling like a drunken duck already. To aim at a ground target you have to dive below street light level. If the guns would be tilted down slightly it would not be such a kamikaze ride.

 

The Swift should have been equiped with Buzzard rockets and a Lazer cannon with explosive shells. Then it would be an Airwolf. The Airwolf from the 80's TV series. Now the Swift is useless. R* did not want to upset the free roam balance.

 

What worries me about the Hind is that it is probably not ownable, like a Lazer. You have to break in into Zancudo AFB to get one.

 

R* does have a record of nerfing innocent fun stuff.

 

 

Yeah those were my thoughts as well... Unless the pilot in question knows how to form a proper tilting radius around a target, or the gun itself has incendiary shells similar to the Laser jet, it's not going to be easy for passengers on the guns (who will be in free aim mode) to effectively find and kill targets.

 

And YES!!!!!! when I saw the pictures of the Swift at first and had heard of R* affinity for the show, I was fully expecting the swift to be Airwolf... Much to my disappointment when it did'nt come with guns, but I bought one anyway just for fun!... Loved that show!

I hope to buy both of them, for both my characters, assuming they're both purchasable, as it'd be nice to have real options to have in missions, as opposed to only having the Buzzard as a viable option. Pick-up Sticks is fun with a Buzzard, but imagine it with those side-mounted mini-guns!!!

best part about this is the passengers can help without locking you out like with the buzzard. I absolutely hate letting randoms get in my buzzard during missions because they use that rocket camera and i'm not able to fire missiles the normal way.

 

really excited overall, glad I didn't buy the swift now.

I've crashed it in to a building and jumped out at the last moment killing the passenger because of it. I don't like to mess up missions on other innocent people but the aggravation factor is too much burden to accept without harsh consequences. If they ever aimed intelligently, that would be different. Rather, they fire wildly and constantly for no apparent reason. WTF is up with that?

Though this chopper woud be realy nice to have with some friends, compared with the other chopper shown in the trailer it doesnt even interest me half as much

yes those miniguns woud bring something new to the table, but with them being placed at the sides, im having my own minigun and my homing launcher, i dont feel its gonna be that much of a gamechanger(woud change freeroam a bit if it became available though)

But just pure for the looks, i want that mil mi-24 hind, sertainly if the front resembles the crocodile like features of the hind to

Seriously, that thing has been my favorit chopper since i first played mgs1:)

also if it has the guided rockets and it isnt much slower then my buzzard or it has the bullet proof glass the cargobob also has then i know my buzzard is just not gonna be used anymore

 

edit: last thing is pure wishfull thinking, there is no reason to asume it woud be as solid as the cargobob for real, exept for the fact that in real life its considered a flying tank

Gonna test it on 360 single player. Previous DLC vehicles were able to be obtained via Singleplayer garage or hangar....guessing it'll be the same here.

I take down jets quite often in my buzzard... stay low, side strafe, and rocket them over and over, and eventually ull hit the target.. fun timez

I just want them to bring back the over-the-shoulder aiming that was in IV. That sh*t where you aim out of the helicopter with a full view of the helicopter is stupid and it makes it easier to waste bullets.

if this chopper makes freeroam a rapefest i wont even be mad because dying to a huey would just be poetic, unless it happens 5+ times in a row

 

the same goes for the hind, but i wouldnt mind dying to it even if it meant that i couldnt live for more than 3 seconds after spawning

In-mission, when someone manages to get in my Buzzard and takes control of the rockets from me, if I don't want them doing so, I rotate 180 degrees, so there's nothing for them to shoot at (like in High Priority Case, away from the rooftop). Doesn't take long before they exit out of the camera. If they retake control after I go back towards the objective, I just do it again. Usually, after that they get the hint.

Am i the only one who thinks that pilot can aim the nose mounted minigun at all directions?(Unlike buzzard and annihilator)

If this is true i'm gonna grind mission 24/7 to get this choppa!

If anything, it should be the CPG that can shoot the turret, not the pilot.
